1. 1ULBኤዶም የተባለው የዔሳው የትውልድ ታሪክ የሚከተለው ነው፤BSBBSB: This is the account of Esau (that is, Edom).
2. 2ULBዔሳው ከነዓናውያን ሴቶችን አገባ፤ እነርሱም የኬጢያዊው የዔሎን ልጅ ዓዳን፣ የኤውያዊው የፅብዖን ልጅ ዓና የወለዳት አህሊባማ፣BSBBSB: Esau took his wives from the daughters of Canaan: Adah daughter of Elon the Hittite, Oholibamah daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon the Hivite,
3. 3ULBእንዲሁም የነባዮት እኅት የሆነችውን የእስማኤል ልጅ ቤስሞት ነበሩ።BSBBSB: and Basemath daughter of Ishmael and sister of Nebaioth.
4. 4ULBዓዳ ለዔሳው ኤልፋዝን ወለደችለት።BSBBSB: And Adah bore Eliphaz to Esau, Basemath gave birth to Reuel,
5. 5ULBእንደዚሁም አህሊባማ የዑስን፣ የዕላምንና ቆሬን ወለደችለት፤ እነዚህ ዔሳው በከነዓን አገር የወለዳቸው ልጆቹ ናቸው።BSBBSB: and Oholibamah gave birth to Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. These were the sons of Esau, who were born to him in the land of Canaan.
6. 6ULBዔሳው ሚስቶቹንና ወንዶችና ሴቶች ልጆቹን፣ ቤተ ሰቦቹን በሙሉ እንደዚሁም የቀንድ ከብቶቹንና ሌሎቹንም እንስሳት ሁሉ በከነዓን ምድር ያፈራውን ሀብት እንዳለ ይዞ ከወንድሙ ከያዕቆብ ራቅ ወዳለ ቦታ ሄደ።BSBBSB: Later, Esau took his wives and sons and daughters and all the people of his household, along with his livestock, all his other animals, and all the property he had acquired in Canaan, and he moved to a land far away from his brother Jacob.
7. 7ULBብዙ ሀብት ስለነበራቸው አብረው መኖር አልቻሉም፣ የነበሩበትም ስፍራ ከከብቶቻቸው ብዛት የተነሣ ሊበቃቸው አልቻለም።BSBBSB: For their possessions were too great for them to dwell together; the land where they stayed could not support them because of their livestock.
8. 8ULBስለዚህ ዔዶም የተባለው ዔሳው መኖሪያውን በተራራማው አገር በሴይር አደረገ።BSBBSB: So Esau (that is, Edom) settled in the area of Mount Seir.
9. 9ULBበተራራማው አገር በሴይር የሚኖሩ የኤዶማውያን አባት፣ የዔሳው ዝርያዎች እነዚህ ናቸው፤BSBBSB: This is the account of Esau, the father of the Edomites, in the area of Mount Seir.
10. 10ULBየዔሳው ልጆች ስም፦ የዔሳው ሚስት የዓዳ ልጅ ኤልፋዝና የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት ልጅ ራጉኤል፤BSBBSB: These are the names of Esau’s sons: Eliphaz son of Esau’s wife Adah, and Reuel son of Esau’s wife Basemath.
11. 11ULBየኤልፋዝ ልጆች፦ ቴማን፣ ኦማር፣ ስፎ፣ ጎቶም ቄኔዝ፤BSBBSB: The sons of Eliphaz were Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz.
12. 12ULBየዔሳው ልጅ ኤልፋዝ ትምናዕ የምትባል ቁባት ነበረችው፤ እርሷም አማሌቅን ወለደችለት፤ የዔሳው ሚስት የዓዳ የልጅ ልጆች እነዚህ ናቸው።BSBBSB: Additionally, Timna, a concubine of Esau’s son Eliphaz, gave birth to Amalek. These are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Adah.
13. 13ULBየራጉኤል ልጆች፦ ናሖት፣ ዛራ፣ ሣማና ሚዛህ፤ እነዚህም ደግሞ የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት የልጅ ልጆች ናቸው።BSBBSB: These are the sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
14. 14ULBየፅብዖን የልጅ ልጅ፤ የዓና ልጅ የዔሳው ሚስት አህሊባማ ለዔሳው የወለደቻቸው ልጆች፦ የዑስ፣ የዕላማና ቆሬ፤BSBBSB: These are the sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah (daughter of Anah and granddaughter of Zibeon) whom she bore to Esau: Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.
15. 15ULBከዔሳው ዝርያዎች እነዚህ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ፤ የዔሳው የበኩር ልጅ የኤልፋዝ ልጆች፦ ቴማን፣ ኦማር፣ ስፎ፣ ቄኔዝBSBBSB: These are the chiefs among the sons of Esau. The sons of Eliphaz the firstborn of Esau: Chiefs Teman, Omar, Zepho, Kenaz,
16. 16ULBቆሬ፣ ጎቶምና አማሌቅ፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም ምድር ከኤልፋዝ የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች፣ የዓዳ የልጅ ልጆች ነበሩ።BSBBSB: Korah, Gatam, and Amalek. They are the chiefs of Eliphaz in the land of Edom, and they are the grandsons of Adah.
17. 17ULBየዔሳው ልጅ የራጉኤል ልጆች፦ ናሖት፣ ዛራ፣ ሃማና፣ ሚዛህ፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም ምድር ከራጉኤል የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች፣ የዔሳው ሚስት የቤሴሞት የልጅ ልጆች ነበሩ።BSBBSB: These are the sons of Esau’s son Reuel: Chiefs Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah. They are the chiefs descended from Reuel in the land of Edom, and they are the grandsons of Esau’s wife Basemath.
18. 18ULBየዔሳው ሚስት የአሕሊባማ ልጆች፦የዑስ፣ የዕላማና ቆሬ፤ እነዚህ ከዓና ልጅ ከዔሳው ሚስት አሕሊባማ የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።BSBBSB: These are the sons of Esau’s wife Oholibamah: Chiefs Jeush, Jalam, and Korah. They are the chiefs descended from Esau’s wife Oholibamah, the daughter of Anah.
19. 19ULBእነዚህም ኤዶም የተባለው የዔሳው ልጆችና የነገድ አለቆቻቸው ነበሩ።BSBBSB: All these are the sons of Esau (that is, Edom), and they were their chiefs.
20. 20ULBበኤዶም ምድር ነዋሪዎች የነበሩት የሴይር ልጆች የነበሩ የሖራውያን አለቆች፦ ሎጣን፣ ሦባል፣ ፅብዖን፣ ዓና፣BSBBSB: These are the sons of Seir the Horite, who were living in the land: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
21. 21ULBዲሶን፣ ኤድርና ዲሳን፤ እነዚህ በኤዶም የነበረው የሴይር ልጆች፣ በሖራውያን የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።BSBBSB: Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. They are the chiefs of the Horites, the descendants of Seir in the land of Edom.
22. 22ULBየሎጣን ልጆች፦ ሖሪና ሔማም የሎጣንም እኅት ቲምናዕ ትባል ነበር።BSBBSB: The sons of Lotan were Hori and Hemam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.
23. 23ULBየሦባል ልጆች፦ ዓልዋን፣ ማኔሐት፣ ዔባልና ስፎና አውናንም፤BSBBSB: These are the sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam.
24. 24ULBየፅብዖን ልጆች፦ አያና፣ ዓና፤ ይህ ዓና የአባቱን የፅባዖንን አህዮች ሲጠብቅ፣ የፍልውሃ ምንጮችን በምድረበዳ ያገኘ ሰው ነው።BSBBSB: These are the sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah. (This is the Anah who found the hot springs in the wilderness as he was pasturing the donkeys of his father Zibeon.)
25. 25ULBየዓና ልጆች፦ዲሶንና የዓና የሴት ልጅ አህሊባማ፤BSBBSB: These are the children of Anah: Dishon and Oholibamah daughter of Anah.
26. 26ULBየዲሶን ልጆች፦ ሔምዳን፣ ሴስባን፣ ይትራንና ክራን፤BSBBSB: These are the sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.
27. 27ULBየኤድር ልጆች፦ ቢልሐን፣ ዛዕዋንና ዓቃን፤BSBBSB: These are the sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan.
28. 28ULBየዲሳን ልጆች፦ዑፅና አራን።BSBBSB: These are the sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.
29. 29ULBየሖራውያን የነገድ አለቆች እነዚህ ነበሩ፦ሎጣን፣ ሦባል፣ፅዖን፥ ዓና፣BSBBSB: These are the chiefs of the Horites: Chiefs Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah,
30. 30ULBዶሶን፣ ኤድርና ዲሳን፤ እነዚህ በሴይር ምድር እንደየነገዳቸው የሖራውያን የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ።BSBBSB: Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan. They are the chiefs of the Horites, according to their divisions in the land of Seir.
31. 31ULBንጉሥ በእስራኤል ከመንገሡ በፊት፣ በኤዶም የነገሡ ነገሥታት እነዚህ ነበሩ፦BSBBSB: These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites:
32. 32ULBየቢዖር ልጅ ባላቅ በኤዶም ነግሦ ነበር፤ የከተማውም ስም ዲንሃባ ይባል ነበር።BSBBSB: Bela son of Beor reigned in Edom; the name of his city was Dinhabah.
33. 33ULBባላቅ ሲሞት፣ በስፍራውም የባሶራው የዛራ ልጅ ኢዮባብ ነገሠ።BSBBSB: When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.
34. 34ULBየባሶራው የዛራ ልጅ ኢዮባብ ሲሞት የቴማኒው ሑሳም ነገሠ።BSBBSB: When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.
35. 35ULBሑሳም ሲሞት፣ የምድያምን ሰዎች በሞዓብ ምድር ድል ያደረጋቸው የባዳድ ልጅ ሃዳድ በምትኩ ነገሠ፤ የከተማውም ስም ዓዊት ይባል ነበር።BSBBSB: When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.
36. 36ULBሃዳድ ሲሞት፣ የመሥሬቃው ሠምላ በምትኩ ነገሠ።BSBBSB: When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.
37. 37ULBሠምላ ሲሞት፣ በወንዙ አጠገብ ያለው የርሆቦቱ ሳኦል በምትኩ ነገሠ።BSBBSB: When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates reigned in his place.
38. 38ULBሳኦል ሲሞት፣ የዓክቦር ልጅ በልሐናን በምትኩ ነገሠ።BSBBSB: When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.
39. 39ULBየዓክቦር ልጅ በልሐናን ሲሞት፣ ሃዳር በምትኩ ነገሠ፤ የከተማውም ስም ፋዑ ይባል ነበር፤ የሚስቱም ስም መሄጣብዔል ሲሆን፣ እርሷም መጥሬድ የወለደቻት የሜዛሃብ ልጅ ነበረች።BSBBSB: When Baal-hanan son of Achbor died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.
40. 40ULBከዔሳው የተገኙት የነገድ አለቆች ስም፣ እንደየነገዳቸውና እንደየአገራቸው ይህ ነው፦ ቲምናዕ፣ ዓለዋ፣ የቴት፣BSBBSB: These are the names of Esau’s chiefs, according to their families and regions, by their names: Chiefs Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,
41. 41ULBአህሊባማ፣ ኤላ፣ ፌኖን፣BSBBSB: Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,
42. 42ULBቄኔዝ፣ ቴማን፣ ሚብሳር፣BSBBSB: Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,
43. 43ULBመግዲኤልና ዒራም፣ እነዚህ በያዙት ምድር እንደየይዞታቸው ከኤዶም የተገኙ የነገድ አለቆች ነበሩ። ይህም ዔሳው የኤዶማውያን አባት ነበር።BSBBSB: Magdiel, and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom, according to their settlements in the land they possessed. Esau was the father of the Edomites.
