1 ULB ያዕቆብ ልጆቹን ጠርቶ እንዲህ አላቸው፤ “በአንድነት ተሰብሰቡና ወደፊት የሚገጥማችሁን ነገር ልንገራችሁ፣ BSB BSB: Then Jacob called for his sons and said, “Gather around so that I can tell you what will happen to you in the days to come:
2 ULB እናንተ የያዕቆብ ልጆች፣ በአንድነት ተሰብስባችሁ ስሙ፣ አባታችሁ እስራኤል የሚነግራችሁንም አድምጡ። BSB BSB: Come together and listen, O sons of Jacob; listen to your father Israel.
3 ULB ሮቤል፣ ኃይልና የጎልማሳነት ብርታት በነበረኝ ጊዜ የወለድሁህ የበኩር ልጄ ነህ። ከልጆቼ ሁሉ በክብርና በኃይል የምትበልጥ አንተ ነህ። BSB BSB: Reuben, you are my firstborn, my might, and the beginning of my strength, excelling in honor, excelling in power.
4 ULB ይሁን እንጂ እንደ ውሃ የምትዋልል ስለሆንህ የበላይ አለቅነት ለአንተ አይገባም፣ ምክያንቱም የአባትህን መኝታ ደፍረሃል ምንጣፌንም አርክሰሃል። BSB BSB: Uncontrolled as the waters, you will no longer excel, because you went up to your father’s bed, onto my couch, and defiled it.
5 ULB “ስምዖንና ሌዊ ወንድማማቾች ናቸው፣ ዓመፅ ለመፈጸም የጦር መሣሪያዎቻቸውን ያነሳሉ። BSB BSB: Simeon and Levi are brothers; their swords are weapons of violence.
6 ULB ወደ ሸንጎአቸው አልግባ፣ ጉባኤያቸው ውስጥ አልገኝ፣ በቁጣ ተነሣስተው ወንዶችን ገድለዋል፣ የበሬዎችንም ቋንጃ እንደፈለጉ ቆራርጠዋል። BSB BSB: May I never enter their council; may I never join their assembly. For they kill men in their anger, and hamstring oxen on a whim.
7 ULB እጅግ አስፈሪ የሆነ ቁጣቸው፣ ጭከና የተሞላ ንዴታቸው የተረገመ ይሁን፤ በያዕቆብ እበትናቸዋለሁ፣ በመላው እስራኤልም አሠራጫቸዋለሁ። BSB BSB: Cursed be their anger, for it is strong, and their wrath, for it is cruel! I will disperse them in Jacob and scatter them in Israel.
8 ULB ይሁዳ ወንድሞችህ ያመሰግኑሃል፣ እጅህም የጠላቶችህን አንገት አንቆ ይይዛል፣ የአባትህ ልጆች በፊትህ ተደፍተው ይስግዱልሃል። BSB BSB: Judah, your brothers shall praise you. Your hand shall be on the necks of your enemies; your father’s sons shall bow down to you.
9 ULB ይሁዳ እንደ ደቦል አንበሳ ነው፣ ከዐደንህ የምትመለስ ልጄ፣ እንደ አንበሳ ያደፍጣል በምድርም ላይ ይተኛል፤ እንደ እንስት እንበሳም ያደባል፣ ታዲያ ማን ሊቀሰቅሰው ይደፍራል? BSB BSB: Judah is a young lion—my son, you return from the prey. Like a lion he crouches and lies down; like a lioness, who dares to rouse him?
10 ULB በትረ መንግስሥት ከይሁዳ እጅ አይወጣም፤ የገዥነት ምርኩዝም ከእግሮቹ መካከል፣ ሕዝቦች ሁሉ የሚታዘዙለት ‘ሴሎ’ እስኪመጣ ድረስ፣ ሕዝቦች ሁሉ ይታዘዙለታል። BSB BSB: The scepter will not depart from Judah, nor the staff from between his feet, until Shiloh comes and the allegiance of the nations is his.
11 ULB አህያውን በወይን ግንድ፣ ውርንጫውንም በምርጡ የወይን ሐረግ ቅርንጫፍ ላይ ያስራል፣ ልብሱን በወይን ጠጅ፣ መጎናጸፊያውንም በወይን ጭማቂ ያጥባል። BSB BSB: He ties his donkey to the vine, his colt to the choicest branch. He washes his garments in wine, his robes in the blood of grapes.
12 ULB ዓይኖቹ ከወይን ጠጅ የቀሉ፣ ጥርሶቹም ከወተት ይልቅ የነጡ ይሆናሉ። BSB BSB: His eyes are darker than wine, and his teeth are whiter than milk.
13 ULB ዛብሎን በባሕር ዳርቻ ይኖራል፣ የመርከቦቹ መጠጊያም ይሆናል፣ ወሰኑም እስከ ሲዶና ይደርሳል። BSB BSB: Zebulun shall dwell by the seashore and become a harbor for ships; his border shall extend to Sidon.
14 ULB ይሳኮር፣ አጥንተ ብርቱ አህያ በጭነት መካከል የሚተኛ፣ ማረፊያ ቦታው መልካም፣ BSB BSB: Issachar is a strong donkey, lying down between the sheepfolds.
15 ULB ምድሪቱም አስደሳች መሆኗን ሲያይ፣ ትከሻውን ለሸክም ዝቅ ያደርጋል ከባድ የጉልበት ሥራም ይሠራል። BSB BSB: He saw that his resting place was good and that his land was pleasant, so he bent his shoulder to the burden and submitted to labor as a servant.
16 ULB ዳን ከእስራኤል ነገዶች እንደ አንዱ ሆኖ በራሱ ሕዝብ ላይ ይፈርዳል። BSB BSB: Dan shall provide justice for his people as one of the tribes of Israel.
17 ULB ዳን የመንገድ ዳር እባብ፣ የመተላለፊያም መንገድ እፉኝት ነው፤ ጋላቢው የኋሊት እንዲወድቅ፣ የፈረሱን ሰኮና ይነክሳል። BSB BSB: He will be a snake by the road, a viper in the path that bites the horse’s heels so that its rider tumbles backward.
18 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ፣ ማዳንህን እጠባበቃለሁ። BSB BSB: I await Your salvation, O LORD.
19 ULB ጋድን ወራሪዎች አደጋ ይጥሉበታል፣ እርሱ ግን ዱካቸውን ተከታትሎ ብድሩን ይመልሳል። BSB BSB: Gad will be attacked by raiders, but he will attack their heels.
20 ULB አሴር ማዕደ ሰፊ ይሆናል፤ ለነገሥታትም የሚስማማ ምግብ ያቀርባል። BSB BSB: Asher’s food will be rich; he shall provide royal delicacies.
21 ULB ነጻ እንደተለቀቀች ሚዳቋ ነው፣ የሚያማምሩ ግልገሎች ይኖሩታል። BSB BSB: Naphtali is a doe set free that bears beautiful fawns.
22 ULB ዮሴፍ፤ ፍሬያማ የወይን ተክል፣ በምንጭ ዳር የተተከለ ወይን ነው። ሐረጎቹ ቅጥርን ያለብሳሉ። BSB BSB: Joseph is a fruitful vine—a fruitful vine by a spring, whose branches scale the wall.
23 ULB ቀስተኞች በብርቱ ያጠቁታል፤ በቀስታቸውም እየነደፉ ያሳድዱታል፤ BSB BSB: The archers attacked him with bitterness; they aimed at him in hostility.
24 ULB ነገር ግን በያዕቆብ ኃያል አምላክ ክንድ፣ እረኛም በሆነው በእስራኤል አለት ቀስቱ ጸና ጠንካራ ክንዱም ቀልጣፋ ሆነ። BSB BSB: Yet he steadied his bow, and his strong arms were tempered by the hands of the Mighty One of Jacob, in the name of the Shepherd, the Rock of Israel,
25 ULB አንተን በሚረዳህ በአባትህ አምላክ፣ በሚባርክህ ሁሉን በሚችል አምላክ፣ ከላይ ከሰማይ በሚገኝ ረድኤት፣ ከምድር ጥልቅ በሚገኝ በረከት፣ ከማኅፀንና ከጡት በሚገኝ ምርቃት ይባርክሃል። BSB BSB: by the God of your father who helps you, and by the Almighty who blesses you, with blessings of the heavens above, with blessings of the depths below, with blessings of the breasts and womb.
26 ULB ከጥንት ተራሮች በረከት፣ ከዘላለም ኮረብቶች ምርቃት ይልቅ፣ የአባትይ በረከት ይበልጣል፤ ይህ ሁሉ በዮሴፍ ራስ ላይ ይውረድ፤ በወንድሞቹ መካከል አለቃ በሆነውም ግንባር ላይ ይረፍ። BSB BSB: The blessings of your father have surpassed the blessings of the ancient mountains and the bounty of the everlasting hills. May they rest on the head of Joseph, on the brow of the prince of his brothers.
27 ULB ብንያም ነጣቂ ተኩላ ነው፤ ያደነውን ማለዳ ይበላል፤ የማረከውን ማታ ያከፋፍላል። BSB BSB: Benjamin is a ravenous wolf; in the morning he devours the prey, in the evening he divides the plunder.”
28 ULB እነዚህ ሁሉ ዐሥራ ሁለቱ የእስራኤል ነገዶች ናቸው። ይህም እያንዳንዳቸውን ተገቢ በሆነው በረከት አባታቸው ሲባርካቸው የተናገረው ቃል ነው። BSB BSB: These are the tribes of Israel, twelve in all, and this was what their father said to them. He blessed them, and he blessed each one with a suitable blessing.
29 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ ያዕቆብ እንዲህ ሲል አዘዛቸው፤ “እኔ የምሞትበትና ወደ ወገኖቼ የምሰበሰብበት ጊዜ ደርሶአል፤ ስለዚህ በኬጢያዊው በኤፍሮን እርሻ ውስጥ ባለችው ዋሻ ከአባቶቼ ዘንድ ቅበሩኝ፤ BSB BSB: Then Jacob instructed them, “I am about to be gathered to my people. Bury me with my fathers in the cave in the field of Ephron the Hittite.
30 ULB ይህንን በከነዓን ምድር በመምሬ አጠገብ በማክፌል እርሻ ውስጥ ያለውን ዋሻ የመቃብር ቦታ እንዲሆን ከኬጢያዊው ኤፍሮን ላይ የገዛው አብርሃም ነው። BSB BSB: The cave is in the field of Machpelah near Mamre, in the land of Canaan. This is the field Abraham purchased from Ephron the Hittite as a burial site.
31 ULB በዚያ አብርሃምና ሚስቱ ሣራ ተቀብረዋል፤ በዚያ ይስሐቅና ሚስቱ ርብቃ ተቀብረዋል፤ እኔም ልያን የቀበርኋት እዚያው ነው፤ BSB BSB: There Abraham and his wife Sarah are buried, there Isaac and his wife Rebekah are buried, and there I buried Leah.
32 ULB እርሻውና ዋሻው የተገዙት ከኬጢያውያን ላይ ነው።” BSB BSB: The field and the cave that is in it were purchased from the Hittites.”
33 ULB ያዕቆብ እነዚህን ቃላት ለልጆቹ ተናግሮ እንዳበቃ እግሮቹን በአልጋው ላይ ሰብስቦ የመጨረሻ ትንፋሹን ተንፍሶ ሞተ፣ ወደ ወገኖቹም ተሰበሰበ። BSB BSB: When Jacob had finished instructing his sons, he pulled his feet into the bed and breathed his last, and he was gathered to his people.
