1 ULB በሰባተኛው ወር፣ ከወሩም በሃያ አንደኛው ቀን የያህዌ ቃል በነቢዩ በሐጌ በኩል መጣ እንዲህም አለ፤ BSB BSB: On the twenty-first day of the seventh month, the word of the LORD came through Haggai the prophet, saying:
2 ULB “ለይሁዳ ገዢ ለሰላትያል ልጅ ለዘሩባቤልና ለኢዮሴዴቅ ልጅ ለካህኑ ኢያሱ፣ እንዲሁም ከምርኮ ለተረፉት ሰዎች ተናገሩ እንዲህም በሏቸው BSB BSB: “Speak to Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, governor of Judah, and to Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest, and also to the remnant of the people. Ask them,
3 ULB የዚህን ቤት የቀድሞ ክብር ያየ በመካከላችሁ ማን አለ? አሁንስ እንዴት ሆኖ ይታያችኋል? በዓይኖቻችሁ ፊት እንደ ተራ ነገር ቀልሎ የለምን? BSB BSB: ‘Who is left among you who saw this house in its former glory? How does it look to you now? Does it not appear to you like nothing in comparison?’
4 ULB አሁንም ዘሩባቤል ሆይ፣ በርታ! ይህ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው አንተም የኢዮሴዴቅ ልጅ ሊቀ ካህኑ ኢያሱ በርታ፤ በምድሪቱ ያላችሁ ሰዎች ሁሉ በርቱ!- ይህ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው፤ እኔ ከእናንተ ጋር ነኝና ተነሡ ሥሩ! ይህ የሠራዊት ጌታ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው BSB BSB: But now be strong, O Zerubbabel, declares the LORD. Be strong, O Joshua son of Jehozadak, the high priest. And be strong, all you people of the land, declares the LORD. Work! For I am with you, declares the LORD of Hosts.
5 ULB ከግብፅ በወጠችሁ ጊዜ በገባሁላችሁ ኪዳን፣ በመካከላችሁም ባለው መንፈሴ አትፍሩ! BSB BSB: This is the promise I made to you when you came out of Egypt. And My Spirit remains among you; do not be afraid.”
6 ULB የሠራዊት ጌታ ያህዌ እንዲህ ይላል፤ በቅርብ ጊዜ ሰማያትንና ምድርን፣ ባሕርንና ደረቁን ምድር አናውጣለሁ! BSB BSB: For this is what the LORD of Hosts says: “Once more, in a little while, I will shake the heavens and the earth, the sea and the dry land.
8 ULB ብርና ወርቁ የእኔ ነው! ይህ የሠራዊት ጌታ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው። BSB BSB: The silver is Mine, and the gold is Mine, declares the LORD of Hosts.
9 ULB የወደፊቱ የዚህ ቤት ክብር ከመጀመሪያው ይበልጣል ይላል የሠራዊት ጌታ ያህዌ፤ በዚህ ቦታ ሰላም እሰጣለሁ- ይህ የሠራዊት ጌታ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው።” BSB BSB: The latter glory of this house will be greater than the former, says the LORD of Hosts. And in this place I will provide peace, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
10 ULB ዳርዮስ በነገሠ ሁለተኛው ዓመት፣ በዘጠነኛው ወር ሃያ አራተኛ ቀን የያህዌ ቃል በነቢዩ በሐጌ በኩል መጣ፤ እንዲህም አለ፣ BSB BSB: On the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, in the second year of Darius, the word of the LORD came to Haggai the prophet, saying,
11 ULB “የሠራዊት ጌታ ያህዌ እንዲህ ይላል፤ ሕጉ ምን እንደሚል ካህናቱን ጠይቁ፤ BSB BSB: “This is what the LORD of Hosts says: ‘Ask the priests for a ruling.
12 ULB አንድ ሰው ለያህዌ የተቀደሰውን ሥጋ በልብሱ እጥፋት ቢይዝ፣ በልብሱ እጥፋት እንጀራ ወይም ወጥ፣ የወይን ጠጅ ወይም ዘይት ወይ ሌላ ምግብ ቢነካ፣ ያ ምግብ ይቀደሳልን?” ካህናቱም፣ “የለም፣ አይቀደስም” በማለት መለሱ። BSB BSB: If a man carries consecrated meat in the fold of his garment, and it touches bread, stew, wine, oil, or any other food, does that item become holy?’” “No,” replied the priests.
13 ULB ሐጌም፣ “ሬሳ በመንካቱ የረከሰ ሰው ከእነዚህ አንዱን ቢነካ ይረክሳሉን?” አለ። ካህናቱም፣ “አዎን፣ ይረክሳሉ” በማለት መለሱ። BSB BSB: So Haggai asked, “If one who is defiled by contact with a corpse touches any of these, does it become defiled?” “Yes, it becomes defiled,” the priests answered.
14 ULB ስለዚህ ሐጌ መልሶ፣“ይህም ሕዝብ በፊቴ እንዲሁ ነው!- ይህ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው፤ የእጃቸው ሥራና ለእኔ የሚያቀርቡት ሁሉ የረከሰ ነው። BSB BSB: Then Haggai replied, “So it is with this people and this nation before Me, declares the LORD, and so it is with every work of their hands; whatever they offer there is defiled.
15 ULB እንግዲህ ከዘሬ ጀምራችሁ በእግዚአብሔር ቤተ መቅደስ ድንጋይ በድንጋይ ላይ ከመነባበሩ በፊት የነበረውን ሁኔታ ልብ በሉ፤ BSB BSB: Now consider carefully from this day forward: Before one stone was placed on another in the temple of the LORD,
16 ULB ለምሆኑ ያኔ እንዴት ነበር? አንድ ሰው ሃያ መስፈሪያ እህል ጠብቆ ወደ ክምሩ ሲሄድ አሥር ብቻ አገኘ። አምሳ ማድጋ ወይን ጠጅ ለመቅዳት ወደ መጭመቂያው ሲሄድ ሃያ ብቻ አገኘ። BSB BSB: from that time, when one came expecting a heap of twenty ephahs of grain, there were but ten. When one came to the winepress to draw out fifty baths, there were but twenty.
17 ULB እናንተንና የእጆቻችሁን ሥራ ሁሉ በዋግና በአረማሞ መታሁ፤ ያም ሆኖ ግን ወደ እኔ አልተመለሳችሁም- ይህ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው። BSB BSB: I struck you—all the work of your hands—with blight, mildew, and hail, but you did not turn to Me, declares the LORD.
18 ULB ከዚህ ቀን ጀምሮ ማለትም የያህዌ ቤተመቅደስ መሠረት ከተጣለበት ከዘጠነኛው ወር ሃያ አራተኛው ቀን ጀምሮ ወደፊት ቁጠሩ፤ ልብ አድርጋችሁ አስቡት! BSB BSB: Consider carefully from this day forward—from the twenty-fourth day of the ninth month, the day the foundation of the LORD’s temple was laid—consider carefully:
19 ULB በጎተራው የቀረ ዘር ይኖራልን? የወይኑና የበለሱ፣ የሮማኑና የወይራው ዛፍ ፍሬ አላፈሩም! ከዚህ ቀን ጀምሮ እባርካችኋለሁ!” BSB BSB: Is there still seed in the barn? The vine, the fig, the pomegranate, and the olive tree have not yet yielded fruit. But from this day on, I will bless you.”
20 ULB በዘጠነኛው ወር በወሩም ሃያ አራተኛ ቀን የያህዌ ቃል በድጋሚ ወደ ሐጌ መጣ፤ እንዲህም አለ፣ BSB BSB: For the second time that day, the twenty-fourth day of the month, the word of the LORD came to Haggai, saying,
21 ULB “ለይሁዳ ገዥ ለዘሩባቤል እንዲህ በለው፤ “ሰማያትንና ምድርን አናውጣለሁ። BSB BSB: “Tell Zerubbabel governor of Judah that I am about to shake the heavens and the earth:
22 ULB የመንግሥታትን ዙፋን እገለብጣለሁ፤ የሕዝቦችን መንግሥት ብርታት አጠፋለሁ! ሰረገሎችንና በላያቸው ያሉትን እገለብጣለሁ፤ ፈረሶችና ጋላቢዎቻቸውን በገዛ ወንድሞቻቸው ሰይፍ ይወድቃሉ። BSB BSB: I will overturn royal thrones and destroy the power of the kingdoms of the nations. I will overturn chariots and their riders; horses and their riders will fall, each by the sword of his brother.
23 ULB በዚያ ቀን- የሠራዊት ጌታ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ እንዲህ የሚል ይሆናል- የሰላትያል ልጅ ባርያዬ ዘሩባቤል ሆይ፣ እኔ እወስድሃለሁ፤ ይህ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው። እኔ መርጬሃለሁና ቀለበቴ ላይ እንደ ማህተም አደርግሃለሁ፤ ይህ የሠራዊት ጌታ የያህዌ ዐዋጅ ነው። BSB BSB: On that day, declares the LORD of Hosts, I will take you, My servant, Zerubbabel son of Shealtiel, declares the LORD, and I will make you like My signet ring, for I have chosen you, declares the LORD of Hosts.”
