1 ULB ስለ አሕዛብ ወደ ነቢዩ ወደ ኤርምያስ የመጣው የእግዚአብሔር ቃል ይህ ነው። BSB BSB: This is the word of the LORD about the nations—the word that came to Jeremiah the prophet
3 ULB ትንንሾቹን እና ትልልቆቹን ጋሻዎች አዘጋጁና ወደ ውጊያ ሂዱ። BSB BSB: “Deploy your shields, small and large; advance for battle!
4 ULB ፈረሰኞች ሆይ፣ ፈረሶችን ለጉሙና ውጡ፣ ራስ ቍርንም ደፍታችሁ ቁሙ። ጦርንም ሰንግሉ፣ የጦር ዕቃንም ልበሱ። BSB BSB: Harness the horses; mount the steeds; take your positions with helmets on! Polish your spears; put on armor!
5 ULB በዚህ የማየው ምንድነው? ወታደሮቻቸው ተሸንፈዋልና፣ በፍርሃት ተሞልተው ወደ ኋላ ተመለሱ። ወደ ኋላቸውም ሳይመለከቱ ፈጥነው ሸሹ። ድንጋጤ በሁሉ ቦታ አለ፣ ይላል እግዚአብሔር። BSB BSB: Why am I seeing this? They are terrified, they are retreating; their warriors are defeated, they flee in haste without looking back; terror is on every side!” declares the LORD.
6 ULB ፈጣኑ ሊሸሽ አይችልም፣ ወታደሮችም ሊያመልጡ አይችሉም። በሰሜን ተሰናከሉ፣ በኤፍራጥስ ወንዝ በኩል ደግሞ ወደቁ። BSB BSB: “The swift cannot flee, and the warrior cannot escape! In the north by the River Euphrates they stumble and fall.
7 ULB ይህ እንደ አባይ ወንዝ የሚነሣ፣ ውኃውም እንደ ወንዝ የሚናወጥለት ማን ነው? BSB BSB: Who is this, rising like the Nile, like rivers whose waters churn?
8 ULB ግብጽ እንደ አባይ ወንዝ ይነሣል፣ ውኃውም እንደ ወንዙ ይናወጣል። እርሱም፣' እነሣለሁ ምድርንም ሁሉ እከድናለሁ። ከተሞችንና የሚኖሩባቸውን አጠፋለሁ ብሎአል። BSB BSB: Egypt rises like the Nile, and its waters churn like rivers, boasting, ‘I will rise and cover the earth; I will destroy the cities and their people.’
9 ULB ፈረሶች ሆይ፣ ውጡ። ሠረገሎችም ሆይ፣ ንጐዱ፤ ጋሻም የሚያነግቡ የኢትዮጵያና የፋጥ ኃያላን፣ ቀስትንም ይዘው የሚስቡ የሉድ ኃያላን ይውጡ።' BSB BSB: Advance, O horses! Race furiously, O chariots! Let the warriors come forth—Cush and Put carrying their shields, men of Lydia drawing the bow.
10 ULB ያ ቀን የሠራዊት ጌታ የእግዚአብሔር የበቀል ቀን ነው፣ ደግሞም ጠላቶቹን እርሱ ራሱ ይበቀላቸዋል። ሰይፍ በልቶ ይጠግባል። ደማቸውንም ተሞልቶ ይጠጣል። ለሠራዊት ጌታ ለእግዚአብሔር በሰሜን ምድር በኤፍራጥስ ወንዝ አጠገብ መሥዋዕት አለውና። BSB BSB: For that day belongs to the Lord GOD of Hosts, a day of vengeance against His foes. The sword will devour until it is satisfied, until it is quenched with their blood. For the Lord GOD of Hosts will hold a sacrifice in the land of the north by the River Euphrates.
11 ULB ድንግሊቱ የግብጽ ሴት ልጅ ሆይ፣ ወደ ገለዓድ ውጪና መድኃኒት ውሰጂ። መድኃኒትን በራስሽ ላይ ማብዛትሽ ጥቅም የለሽ ነገር ነው። ለአንቺ የሚሆን ፈውስ የለም። BSB BSB: Go up to Gilead for balm, O Virgin Daughter of Egypt! In vain you try many remedies, but for you there is no healing.
12 ULB ወታደሩ በወታደሩ ላይ ተሰናክሎ፣ ሁለቱ በአንድነት ወድቀዋልና አሕዛብ እፍረትሽን ሰምተዋል። ምድር በለቅሶሽ ተሞልታለች።" BSB BSB: The nations have heard of your shame, and your outcry fills the earth, because warrior stumbles over warrior and both of them have fallen together.”
13 ULB የባቢሎን ንጉሥ ናቡከደነፆር መጥቶ የግብጽን ምድር ሲያጠቃ እግዚአብሔር ለነብዩ ኤርምያስ የተናገረው ቃል ይህ ነው። BSB BSB: This is the word that the LORD spoke to Jeremiah the prophet about the coming of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon to strike the land of Egypt:
14 ULB "ለግብጽ ተናገሩ፣ በሚግዶልና በሜምፎስ ይሰማ። በጣፍናስ 'ሰይፍ በዙሪያህ ያለውን በልቶአልና፣ ተነሥተህ ተዘጋጅ' ብለዋል። BSB BSB: “Announce it in Egypt, and proclaim it in Migdol; proclaim it in Memphis and Tahpanhes: ‘Take your positions and prepare yourself, for the sword devours those around you.’
15 ULB የከፍታ አምላክሽ ለምን ሸሸ? በበሬ የተመሰለው ጣዖትሽስ ለምን አይቆምም? እግዚአብሔር ገፍትሮ ጥሎታል። BSB BSB: Why have your warriors been laid low? They cannot stand, for the LORD has thrust them down.
16 ULB እርሱ የሚሰናከሉትን ቊጥር ያበዛል። እያንዳንዳቸው ወታደሮች አንዱ በሌላው ላይ ይወድቃል። እነርሱም፣ "ተነሡ። ወደቤት እንጂድ። ወደገዛ ሕዝባችን፣ ወደ ተወለድንባት ምድር እንሂድ። ይህንን እየቀጠቀጠን ያለውን ሰይፍ ትተን እንሂድ።" ይላሉ። BSB BSB: They continue to stumble; indeed, they have fallen over one another. They say, ‘Get up! Let us return to our people and to the land of our birth, away from the sword of the oppressor.’
17 ULB በዚያም፣ 'የግብጽ ንጉሥ ፈርዖን ያገኘውን ዕድል የሚያሳልፍ ኁከተኛ ብቻ ነው" ብለው ይናገራሉ። BSB BSB: There they will cry out: ‘Pharaoh king of Egypt was all noise; he has let the appointed time pass him by.’
18 ULB "እኔ ሕያው ነኝና በተራሮች መካከል እንዳለ እንደ ታቦር፣ በባሕርም አጠገብ እንዳለ እንደ ቀርሜሎስ፣ እንዲሁ በእውነት ይመጣል፣ ይላል ስሙ የሠራዊት ጌታ እግዚአብሔር የተባለው ንጉሥ። BSB BSB: As surely as I live, declares the King, whose name is the LORD of Hosts, there will come one who is like Tabor among the mountains and like Carmel by the sea.
19 ULB አንቺ በግብጽ የምትቀመጪ ልጅ ሆይ፣ ለምርኮ የምትሄጂበትን ዕቃ አዘጋጂ። ሜምፎስ የምትሸበር ትሆናለችና፣ ማንም በዚያ የማይኖርባት እንድትሆን ትፈራርሳለችና። BSB BSB: Pack your bags for exile, O daughter dwelling in Egypt! For Memphis will be laid waste, destroyed and uninhabited.
20 ULB ግብጽ እጅግ የተዋበች ጊደር ናት፣ ነገር ግን ከሰሜን በኩል የሚያሰቃይ መዥገር ይመጣባታል። BSB BSB: Egypt is a beautiful heifer, but a gadfly from the north is coming against her.
21 ULB በመካከሏም ያሉ ቅጥረኛ ወታደሮች እንደ ሰቡ ወይፈኖች ናቸው፣ ነገር ግን እነርሱም እንዲሁ ይመለሱና ይሸሻሉ። የጥፋታቸው ቀን እየመጣባቸው ነውና፣ የቅጣታቸው ጊዜ መጥቶባቸዋልና በአንድነት አይቆሙም። BSB BSB: Even the mercenaries among her are like fattened calves. They too will turn back; together they will flee, they will not stand their ground, for the day of calamity is coming upon them—the time of their punishment.
22 ULB ጠላቶቿ በእርሷ ላይ ይሰለፉባታልና ግብጽ እንደ እባብ ድምፅ ትጮኻለች፣ በደረቷም ተስባ ትሸሻለች። በመጥረቢያ እንደሚቆርጡ እንደ እንጨት ቈራጮች ሆነው ይመጡባታል። BSB BSB: Egypt will hiss like a fleeing serpent, for the enemy will advance in force; with axes they will come against her like woodsmen cutting down trees.
23 ULB በጣም ጥቅጥቅ ያሉ ቢሆኑም እንኳን ጫካዎቿን ይቈርጣሉ፣ ይላል እግዚአብሔር። ጠላቶቿ ሊቆጠሩ እስከማይችሉ ድረስ ከአንበጣ ይልቅ ብዙ ይሆናሉና። BSB BSB: They will chop down her forest, declares the LORD, dense though it may be, for they are more numerous than locusts; they cannot be counted.
24 ULB የግብጽ ሴት ልጅ እንድታፍር ትደረጋለች። ከሰሜን ለሚሆኑ ሕዝቦች እጅ ተላልፋ ትሰጣለች።" BSB BSB: The Daughter of Egypt will be put to shame; she will be delivered into the hands of the people of the north.”
25 ULB የእስራኤል አምላክ፣ የሠራዊት ጌታ እግዚአብሔር፣ እንዲህ ይላል፣ 'ተመልከቱ፣ የኖእ አሞንን፣ ፈርዖንንም፣ ግብጽንና አማልክቶችዋን፣ ፈርዖን ነገሥታቶችዋንና በእነርሱም የሚታመኑትን እቀጣለሁ። BSB BSB: The LORD of Hosts, the God of Israel, says: “Behold, I am about to punish Amon god of Thebes, along with Pharaoh, Egypt with her gods and kings, and those who trust in Pharaoh.
26 ULB ነፍሳቸውንም በሚፈልጉ ሰዎች እጅ፣ በባቢሎን ንጉሥ በናቡክደነፆር እንዲሁም በባርያዎቹም እጅ አሳልፌ እሰጣቸዋለሁ። ከዚያም በኋላ አንደ ቀድሞው ዘመን የሰው መኖሪያ ትሆናለች፣" ይላል እግዚአብሔር። BSB BSB: I will deliver them into the hands of those who seek their lives—of Nebuchadnezzar king of Babylon and his officers. But after this, Egypt will be inhabited as in days of old, declares the LORD.
27 ULB "ነገር ግን፣ አንተ ባርያዬ ያዕቆብ ሆይ፣ አትፍራ። አንተም እስራኤል ሆይ፣ አትደንግጥ። እነሆ፥ አንተን ከሩቅ ዘርህንም ከተማረከባት ምድር አድናለሁ። ከዚያም፣ ያዕቆብ ይመለሳል፣ ሰላም ያገኛል፣ በዋስትናም ይቀመጣል፣ የሚያስፈራራው ማንም አይገኝም። BSB BSB: But you, O Jacob My servant, do not be afraid, and do not be dismayed, O Israel. For I will surely save you out of a distant place, your descendants from the land of their captivity! Jacob will return to quiet and ease, with no one to make him afraid.
28 ULB አንተ፣ ባርያዬ ያዕቆብ፣ እኔ ከአንተ ጋር ነኝና አትፍራ፣ ይላል እግዚአብሔር፤ አንተን ያሰደድሁባቸውን አሕዛብን ሁሉ ፈጽሜ አጠፋለሁና አትፍራ ይላል እግዚአብሔር። ነገር ግን አንተን ፈጽሜ አላጠፋህም። በመጠን እቀጣሃለሁ፥ ያለ ቅጣትም አልተውህም።" BSB BSB: And you, My servant Jacob, do not be afraid, declares the LORD, for I am with you. Though I will completely destroy all the nations to which I have banished you, I will not completely destroy you. Yet I will discipline you justly, and will by no means leave you unpunished.”
