1 ULB ኤሊሁም በመቀጠል እንዲህ አለ፥ BSB BSB: Then Elihu continued:
2 ULB ”እናንተ ጥበበኞች፥ ቃሎቼን አድምጡ፤ እውቀት ያላችሁ እናንተ ስሙኝ። BSB BSB: “Hear my words, O wise men; give ear to me, O men of learning.
3 ULB ምላስ ምግብን እንደሚያጣጥም ጆሮም ቃላትን ያመዛዝናል። BSB BSB: For the ear tests words as the mouth tastes food.
4 ULB ትክክለኛ የሆነውን ለራሳችን እንምረጥ፤ መልካም የሆነውንም በመካከላችን እንፈልገው። BSB BSB: Let us choose for ourselves what is right; let us learn together what is good.
5 ULB ኢዮብ 'እኔ ጻድቅ ነኝ እግዚአብሔር ግን መብቴን ነፍጎኛል። መብት ቢኖረኝም እንደ ሐሰተኛ ተቆጥሬአለሁ። BSB BSB: For Job has declared, ‘I am righteous, yet God has deprived me of justice.
6 ULB ምንም እንኳን ኃጢአት ባይኖርብኝም ቁስሌ የማይፈወስ ነው' ብሏልና። BSB BSB: Would I lie about my case? My wound is incurable, though I am without transgression.’
7 ULB ስድብን እንደ ውሃ የሚጠጣ፥ BSB BSB: What man is like Job, who drinks up derision like water?
8 ULB ክፋትን ከሚያደርጉት ጋር እንደሚወዳጅ፥ ከአመጸኞችም ጋር እንደሚመላለስ እንደ ኢዮብ ያለ ማነው? BSB BSB: He keeps company with evildoers and walks with wicked men.
9 ULB እርሱ፥ 'ሰው እግዚአብሔር የሚፈልገውን በማድረግ መደሰቱ ምንም አይጠቅምም' ብሏልና። BSB BSB: For he has said, ‘It profits a man nothing that he should delight in God.’
10 ULB ስለዚህ እናንተ አዋቂዎች ስሙኝ፤ አመጻን ማድረግ ከእግዚአብሔር ይራቅ፤ ኃጢአትን ማድረግም ሁሉን ቻይ ከሆነው ይራቅ። BSB BSB: Therefore listen to me, O men of understanding. Far be it from God to do wrong, and from the Almighty to act unjustly.
11 ULB ለሰው እንደ ሥራው ይከፍለዋልና፤ እያንዳንዱም በየራሱ መንገድ ወደ ብድራቱ እንዲመጣ ያደርገዋል። BSB BSB: For according to a man’s deeds He repays him; according to a man’s ways He brings consequences.
12 ULB በእርግጥ እግዚአብሔር አንዳችም አመጻን አያደርግም፥ ደግሞም ሁሉን ቻዩ ከቶም ፍትሕን አያዛባም። BSB BSB: Indeed, it is true that God does not act wickedly, and the Almighty does not pervert justice.
13 ULB በምድር ላይ እርሱን ፈራጅ ያደረገው ማነው? ዓለሙንስ በሙሉ ከእርሱ በታች ያደረገው ማነው? BSB BSB: Who gave Him charge over the earth? Who appointed Him over the whole world?
14 ULB እርሱ ፍላጎቱን በራሱ ላይ ብቻ ቢያደርግና መንፈሱንና እስትንፋሱን ወደ ራሱ ቢመልስ ኖሮ BSB BSB: If He were to set His heart to it and withdraw His Spirit and breath,
15 ULB ያን ጊዜ ሥጋን የለበሰ ሁሉ በጠፋ፥ ሰውም እንደገና ወደ ዐፈር በተመለሰ ነበር። BSB BSB: all flesh would perish together and mankind would return to the dust.
16 ULB አሁን እንግዲህ ማስተዋል ካለህ ይህንን ስማ፤ የቃሌንም ድምፅ አድምጥ። BSB BSB: If you have understanding, hear this; listen to my words.
17 ULB ፍትሕን የሚጠላ ማስተዳደር ይችላል? ጻድቅና ሁሉን ቻይ የሆነውን አምላክ ትኮንነዋለህ? BSB BSB: Could one who hates justice govern? Will you condemn the just and mighty One,
18 ULB እግዚአብሔር ንጉሡን፥ 'በደለኛ ነህ' ወይም ባለስልጣኖችን፥ 'አመጸኞች ናችሁ' አይልምን? BSB BSB: who says to kings, ‘You are worthless!’ and to nobles, ‘You are wicked,’
19 ULB እግዚአብሔር ለመሪዎች አያዳላም፤ ባለጸጋዎችንም ከድኾች አስበልጦ አይመለከታቸውም፤ ሁሉም የእጁ ሥራዎች ናቸውና። BSB BSB: who is not partial to princes and does not favor rich over poor? For they are all the work of His hands.
20 ULB በቅጽበት ይሞታሉ፤ እኩለ ሌሊት ላይ ሰዎች ይንቀጠቀጣሉ፥ ይሞታሉም፤ ኃያላን ሰዎች ይወሰዳሉ፥ በሰው እጅ ግን አይደለም። BSB BSB: They die in an instant, in the middle of the night. The people convulse and pass away; the mighty are removed without human hand.
21 ULB የእግዚአብሔር ዐይኖች በሰው አካሄድ ላይ ናቸው፤ እርምጃዎቹንም ሁሉ ያያቸዋል። BSB BSB: For His eyes are on the ways of a man, and He sees his every step.
22 ULB ክፉ አድራጊዎች የሚደበቁበት ጨለማ ወይም ድቅድቅ ጭጋግ የለም። BSB BSB: There is no darkness or deep shadow where the workers of iniquity can hide.
23 ULB እግዚአብሔር ከዚህ በላይ ሰውን መመርመር አይፈልግም፥ የትኛውም ሰው በእርሱ ፊት ቆሞ መሟገት አያስፈልገውም። BSB BSB: For God need not examine a man further or have him approach for judgment.
24 ULB ስለ አካሄዳቸው ተጨማሪ ምርመራ እንዳያስፈልጋቸው ኃያላኑን ሰዎች ይሰባብራቸዋል፤ በስፍራቸውም ሌሎችን ይሾማል። BSB BSB: He shatters the mighty without inquiry and sets up others in their place.
25 ULB እንዲህ ባለ መንገድ ሥራቸውን ያውቃል፤ እነዚህን ሰዎች በጨለማ ይጥላቸዋል፤ እነርሱም ይጠፋሉ። BSB BSB: Therefore, He recognizes their deeds; He overthrows them in the night and they are crushed.
26 ULB በሌሎች ፊት፥ በአደባባይ ስለ ክፉ ሥራቸው እንደ ወንጀለኛ ይገድላቸዋል፥ BSB BSB: He strikes them for their wickedness in full view,
27 ULB እርሱን ከመከተል ተመልሰዋልና፥ ከመንገዶቹም የትኛውንም ለመቀበል ፈቃደኞች አልሆኑምና። BSB BSB: because they turned aside from Him and had no regard for any of His ways.
28 ULB እንዲህ ባለ መንገድ የድኾች ጩኸት በፊቱ እንዲወጣ አደረጉ፤ እርሱም የተጨነቁትን ሰዎች ጩኸት ሰማ። BSB BSB: They caused the cry of the poor to come before Him, and He heard the outcry of the afflicted.
29 ULB በዝምታ በሚቆይበት ጊዜ ማን ሊወቅሰው ይችላል? ፊቱንስ ቢሰውር ማን ሊገነዘበው ይችላል? BSB BSB: But when He remains silent, who can condemn Him? When He hides His face, who can see Him? Yet He watches over both man and nation,
30 ULB አመጸኛው ሰው ገዢ እንዳይሆን፥ በሕዝቡም ላይ ወጥመድን የሚያደርግ እንዳይገኝ እርሱ በሀገሮችና በግለሰቦች ላይ ይገዛል። BSB BSB: that godless men should not rule or lay snares for the people.
31 ULB አንድ ሰው እግዚአብሔርን እንዲህ እንደሚለው ገምቱ፥ 'በርግጥ በድያለሁ፥ BSB BSB: Suppose someone says to God, ‘I have endured my punishment; I will offend no more.
32 ULB ከዚህ በኋላ ግን ከቶ ኃጢአትን አላደርግም፤ ላየው የማልችለውን አስተምረኝ፤ ኃጢአትን ሠርቻለሁ፥ ከእንግዲህ ግን አላደርግም'። BSB BSB: Teach me what I cannot see; if I have done wrong, I will not do it again.’
33 ULB እግዚአብሔር የሚያደርገውን የምትጠላ ሰው ብትሆንም፥ እግዚአብሔር የዚያን ሰው ኃጢአት የሚቀጣ ይመስልሃል? እኔ ሳልሆን አንተው መምረጥ አለብህ። ስለዚህ ትክክል ነው ብለህ የምታውቀውን ተናገር። BSB BSB: Should God repay you on your own terms when you have disavowed Him? You must choose, not I; so tell me what you know.
34 ULB ዐዋቂዎች ሰዎችም እንዲህ ይሉኛል፥ በእርግጥ የሚሰማኝ ጥበበኛ ሰው ሁሉ የሚለው እንዲህ ነው፥ BSB BSB: Men of understanding will declare to me, and the wise men who hear me will say:
35 ULB 'ኢዮብ የሚናገረው የማያውቀውን ነው፤ ቃሎቹም ጥበብ የለባቸውም'። BSB BSB: ‘Job speaks without knowledge; his words lack insight.’
36 ULB እንደ አመጸኞች ሰዎች ተናግሯልና ምነው ኢዮብ ብቻውን ከጉዳዮቹ ስለ ጥቂቶቹ በዝርዝር በተመረመረ። BSB BSB: If only Job were tried to the utmost for answering like a wicked man.
37 ULB በኃጢአቱ ላይ አመጽን ጨምሯልና፤ በመካከላችን እጆቹን እያጨበጨበ ተሳድቧልና፤ እግዚአብሔርን በመቃወምም ብዙ ቃል ተናግሯል።" BSB BSB: For he adds rebellion to his sin; he claps his hands among us and multiplies his words against God.”
