1 ULB ቴማናዊውም ኤልፋዝ እንዲህ ሲል መለሰ፦ BSB BSB: Then Eliphaz the Temanite replied:
2 ULB አንድ ሰው ከአንተ ጋር ለመነጋገር ቢሞክር ታዝናለህን? ነገር ግን ከመናገር ራሱን ሊገታ የሚችል ማን ነው? BSB BSB: “If one ventures a word with you, will you be wearied? Yet who can keep from speaking?
3 ULB እነሆ፥ አንተ ብዙዎችን ታስተምር ነበር፥ የደከሙትንም እጆች ታበረታ ነበር፥ BSB BSB: Surely you have instructed many, and have strengthened their feeble hands.
4 ULB ቃልህ ሊወድቅ የተሰናከለውን ያስነሣ ነበር፥ አንተም የሚብረከረከውን ጕልበት ታጸና ነበር። BSB BSB: Your words have steadied those who stumbled; you have braced the knees that were buckling.
5 ULB አሁን ግን ጥፋት በአንተ ላይ መጥቶአል፥ አንተም ደከመህ፤ በርግጥ ደረሰብህ፥ አንተም ታወክህ። BSB BSB: But now trouble has come upon you, and you are weary. It strikes you, and you are dismayed.
6 ULB እግዚአብሔርን መፍራትህ ድፍረትን፥ ያካሄድህስ ቀናነት ተስፋን አይሰጥህምን? BSB BSB: Is your reverence not your confidence, and the uprightness of your ways your hope?
7 ULB እባክህ ይህን እንድታስብ እለምንሃለሁ፥ ንጹሕ ሆኖ የጠፋ ማን አለ? ልበ ቅንስ ሆኖ የተደመሰሰ ማን ነው? BSB BSB: Consider now, I plead: Who, being innocent, has ever perished? Or where have the upright been destroyed?
8 ULB እኔ እንዳየሁ፥ ኃጢአትን የሚያርሱ፥ ሁከትንም የሚዘሩ መልሰው ያንኑ ያጭዳሉ። BSB BSB: As I have observed, those who plow iniquity and those who sow trouble reap the same.
9 ULB በእግዚአብሔር እስትንፋስ ይጠፋሉ፥ በቍጣውም ንዳድ ያልቃሉ። BSB BSB: By the breath of God they perish, and by the blast of His anger they are consumed.
10 ULB የአንበሳ ግሳት፥ የቁጡ አንበሳ ድምፅ፥ የደቦል አንበሳ ጥርስ ተሰባብረዋል። BSB BSB: The lion may roar, and the fierce lion may growl, yet the teeth of the young lions are broken.
11 ULB ያረጀ አንበሳ አደን አጥቶ ይሞታል፥ የአንበሳይቱም ግልገሎች የትም ይበተናሉ። BSB BSB: The old lion perishes for lack of prey, and the cubs of the lioness are scattered.
12 ULB ለእኔም ነገሩ በምሥጢር መጣልኝ፥ ጆሮዬም ስለነገሩ ሹክሹክታን ሰማች። BSB BSB: Now a word came to me secretly; my ears caught a whisper of it.
13 ULB ከባድ እንቅልፍ በሰው ላይ በሚሆንበት ጊዜ፥ በሃሳብ ብዛት በሌሊት ሕልም ሲመጣ፥ BSB BSB: In disquieting visions in the night, when deep sleep falls on men,
14 ULB ድንጋጤና መንቀጥቀጥ መጡብኝ አጥንቶቼም ሁሉ ተንቀጠቀጡ BSB BSB: fear and trembling came over me and made all my bones shudder.
15 ULB በፊቴም መንፈስ አለፈ የሰውነቴም ጠጕር ቆመ። BSB BSB: Then a spirit glided past my face, and the hair on my body bristled.
16 ULB መንፈሱም ቆመ፥ መልኩን ግን ለመለየት አልቻልሁም፥ ቅርጹ በዓይኔ ፊት ነበረ፤ ጸጥታም ሆነ እንዲህም የሚል ድምፅ ሰማሁ፤ BSB BSB: It stood still, but I could not discern its appearance; a form loomed before my eyes, and I heard a whispering voice:
17 ULB “በውኑ ሥጋ የለበሰ ሰው ከእግዚአብሔር ይልቅ ጻድቅ ሊሆን ይችላልን？ሰውስ ከፈጣሪው ይልቅ ንጹህ ሊሆን ይችላልን?” BSB BSB: ‘Can a mortal be more righteous than God, or a man more pure than his Maker?
18 ULB እነሆ፥ እግዚአብሔር በአገልጋዮቹ ካልተማመነ፤ መላእክቱንም በስህተት ከወቀሳቸዋል፤ BSB BSB: If God puts no trust in His servants, and He charges His angels with error,
19 ULB ይልቁንስ በሸክላ ቤቶች ውስጥ በሚኖሩ፥ መሠረታቸውም በትቢያ ውስጥ ለሆነ፥ ከብል ቀድመው በሚጠፉት ዘንድ ይህ እንዴት እውነት ይሆን? BSB BSB: how much more those who dwell in houses of clay, whose foundations are in the dust, who can be crushed like a moth!
20 ULB በጥዋትና በማታ መካከል ይጠፋሉ፤ ማንም ሳያውቀው እስከ ወዲያኛው ይጠፋሉ። BSB BSB: They are smashed to pieces from dawn to dusk; unnoticed, they perish forever.
21 ULB የድንኳናቸው ገመድ ከመካከላቸው የተነቀለ አይደለምን? ይሞታሉ፦ ያለጥበብም ይሞታሉ። BSB BSB: Are not their tent cords pulled up, so that they die without wisdom?’
