1 ULB ኢዮብም ሲመልስ እንዲህም አለ፦ BSB BSB: Then Job answered:
2 ULB “እንዲህ እንደ ሆነ በእውነት አውቃለሁ፤ ነገር ግን ሰው በእግዚአብሔር ፊት ጻድቅ መሆን እንዴት ይችላል? BSB BSB: “Yes, I know that it is so, but how can a mortal be righteous before God?
3 ULB ሰው ከእግዚአብሔር ጋር ለመከራከር ቢፈልግ፥ ከሺህ ነገር አንዱን እንኳ መመለስ አይችልም። BSB BSB: If one wished to contend with God, he could not answer Him one time out of a thousand.
4 ULB እግዚአብሔር በልቡ ጠቢብ ነው፥ ኃይሉም ታላቅ ነው፤ እርሱን ተዳፍሮ በደኅና የተሳካለት ማን ነው? BSB BSB: God is wise in heart and mighty in strength. Who has resisted Him and prospered?
5 ULB በቍጣው ተራሮችን ሲገለብጣቸው፤ ተራሮችን ሲነቅላልቸው ለማን አስቀድሞ ተናገረ። BSB BSB: He moves mountains without their knowledge and overturns them in His anger.
6 ULB ምድርን ከስፍራዋ ያሚያናውጣት እርሱ፥ ምሰሶዎችዋንም ያንቀጠቅጣቸዋል። BSB BSB: He shakes the earth from its place, so that its foundations tremble.
7 ULB ይኸው እግዚአብሔር ፀሐይን እንዳትወጣ ያዝዛታል፥ አትወጣምም፤ ከዋክብትንም ይከልላቸዋል። BSB BSB: He commands the sun not to shine; He seals off the stars.
8 ULB ሰማያትን በራሱ ይዘረጋል፥ የባሕሩን ማዕበል የሚገዛ በላዩም ይራመዳል። BSB BSB: He alone stretches out the heavens and treads on the waves of the sea.
9 ULB ድብና ኦሪዮን የሚባሉትን ኮከቦች፥ ሰባቱንም ከዋክብት፥ በደቡብም በኩል ያሉትን የከዋክብት ስብስቦች ሠርቶአል። BSB BSB: He is the Maker of the Bear and Orion, of the Pleiades and the constellations of the south.
10 ULB ይኸው እግዚአብሔር የማይመረመሩ ታላላቅ ነገሮችን፥ በርግጥ የማይቈጠሩ ተአምራቶችን ያደርጋል። BSB BSB: He does great things beyond searching out, and wonders without number.
11 ULB እነሆ፥ ወደ እኔ ቢመጣ አላየውም፤፤ በአጠገቤም ቢያልፍ አላውቀውም። BSB BSB: Were He to pass by me, I would not see Him; were He to move, I would not recognize Him.
12 ULB እነሆ አንድን ሰው ነጥቆ ቢወስድ የሚከለክለው ማን ነው? ምን እያደረግህ ነው? የሚለውስ ማን ነው? BSB BSB: If He takes away, who can stop Him? Who dares to ask Him, ‘What are You doing?’
13 ULB እግዚአብሔር ቍጣውን አይመልስም፤ የረዓብ ረዳቶች ከእርሱ በታች ይሰግዳሉ። BSB BSB: God does not restrain His anger; the helpers of Rahab cower beneath Him.
14 ULB ይልቁንስ መልስ ልመልስለት፥ ከእርሱ ጋርስ ለክርክር ቃልን እመርጥ ዘንድ እኔ ማን ነኝ? BSB BSB: How then can I answer Him or choose my arguments against Him?
15 ULB ጻድቅ ብሆን ኖሮ እንኳ ልመልስለት አልችልም፤ የምችለው ዳኛዬን ምህረት መለመን ብቻ ነው። BSB BSB: For even if I were right, I could not answer. I could only beg my Judge for mercy.
16 ULB ብጠራውና እርሱ ቢመልስልኝ ም ኖሮ፥ ድምጼን ይሰማ እንደ ነበር አላምንም። BSB BSB: If I summoned Him and He answered me, I do not believe He would listen to my voice.
17 ULB በዐውሎ ነፋስ ይሰብረኛል፥ ቍስሌንም ያለ ምክንያት ያበዛዋል። BSB BSB: For He would crush me with a tempest and multiply my wounds without cause.
18 ULB ትንፋሽ እድወስድ እንኳ ፋታ አልሰጠኝም፥ ይልቅ በመራራነት አጠገበኝ። BSB BSB: He does not let me catch my breath, but overwhelms me with bitterness.
19 ULB ስለ ኃይል ከተናገርን እንደ እርሱ ኃያል ማን ነው፤ የፍርትህ ነገር ከተነሳ፦”የሚጠይቀኝ ማን ነው?“ይላል። BSB BSB: If it is a matter of strength, He is indeed mighty! If it is a matter of justice, who can summon Him?
20 ULB ጻድቅ ብሆን እንኳ አንደበቴ ይወቅሰኛል፤ ሰበብ ባይገኝብኝ እንኳ ጥፋተኛ ያደርገኛል። BSB BSB: Even if I were righteous, my mouth would condemn me; if I were blameless, it would declare me guilty.
21 ULB ያለነቀፋ ብሆንም ከእንግዲህ ለራሴ ግድ የለኝም፤ ሕይወቴንም እንቃታለሁ። BSB BSB: Though I am blameless, I have no concern for myself; I despise my own life.
22 ULB ልዩነት የለውም፤ እርሱ “ጻድቁንና ሃጥኡን ባንድነት ያጠፋል" የምለው ለዚህ ነው። BSB BSB: It is all the same, and so I say, ‘He destroys both the blameless and the wicked.’
23 ULB መቅሠፍ በድንገት ቢገድል፥ በንጹሐን ሰዎች ችግር ይስቃል። BSB BSB: When the scourge brings sudden death, He mocks the despair of the innocent.
24 ULB ምድር ለኃጥአን እጅ ታልፋ ተሰጥታለች፤ እግዚአብሔርም የዳኞችዋን ፊት ሸፍኖአል፤ ይህን ያረገው እርሱ ካልሆነ ታድያ ማን ነው? BSB BSB: The earth is given into the hand of the wicked; He blindfolds its judges. If it is not He, then who is it?
25 ULB ዘመኔ ከመልክተኛ ሰው ሩጫ ይልቅ ይፈጥናል፤ ቀኖቼ፥ መልካምን ሳያዩ ይከንፋሉ። BSB BSB: My days are swifter than a runner; they flee without seeing good.
26 ULB የደንገል ጀልባ እንደሚፈጥን፥ ንስርም ወደሚነጥቀው ግዳይ እንደሚበርር ፈጣን ናቸው። BSB BSB: They sweep by like boats of papyrus, like an eagle swooping down on its prey.
27 ULB “አቤቱታዬን እረሳለሁ፤ ሐዘንተኛ ፊቴን ትቼ ደስተኛ እሆናለሁ” ብዬ ብል፥ BSB BSB: If I were to say, ‘I will forget my complaint and change my expression and smile,’
28 ULB ንጹሕ አድርገህ እንደማትቆጥረኝ ስላወቅሁ መከራዬን ሁሉ እፈራዋለሁ። BSB BSB: I would still dread all my sufferings; I know that You will not acquit me.
29 ULB ጥፋተኛ ሆኜ መቀጣቴ ላይቀር፤ ለምን በከንቱ እደክማለሁ? BSB BSB: Since I am already found guilty, why should I labor in vain?
30 ULB ራሴን በአመዳይ ውሃ ባጥብና እጆቼንም እጅግ ባነጻቸው፥ BSB BSB: If I should wash myself with snow and cleanse my hands with lye,
31 ULB የገዛ ልብሴ እስኪጸየፈኝ ድረስ እግዚአብሔር በአዘቅት ውስጥ ይመልሰኛል። BSB BSB: then You would plunge me into the pit, and even my own clothes would despise me.
32 ULB መልስ እድሰጠው፥ አብረን ወደ ፍርድ ችሎት እንዳንገባ፥ እርሱ እንደ እኔ ሰው አይደለም። BSB BSB: For He is not a man like me, that I can answer Him, that we can take each other to court.
33 ULB እጁን በሁለታችንም ላይ የሚያኖር ፈራጅ፤ በመካከላችንም የሚዳኝ የለም! BSB BSB: Nor is there a mediator between us, to lay his hand upon us both.
34 ULB የእርሱን በትሩ ከእኔ ላይ የሚያነሳ፥ ማስደንገጡንም ከኔ የሚያርቅ ሌላ ፈራጅ የለምን？ BSB BSB: Let Him remove His rod from me, so that His terror will no longer frighten me.
35 ULB በሚገባ በተናገርሁ፥ ባልፈራሁም ነበር፤ ነገር ግን አሁን ነገሮች እንዲህ ባሉበት አልችልም። BSB BSB: Then I would speak without fear of Him. But as it is, I am on my own.
