1. 1ULBከዚያም ጲላጦስ ኢየሱስን ወስዶ አስገረፈው።BSBBSB: Then Pilate took Jesus and had Him flogged.
2. 2ULBወታደሮቹ የእሾኽ አክሊል ጐንጕነው በኢየሱስ ራስ ላይ አደረጉ። ሐምራዊ ልብስም አለበሱት።BSBBSB: The soldiers twisted together a crown of thorns, set it on His head, and dressed Him in a purple robe.
3. 3ULBወደ እርሱ መጥተው፣ «የተከበሩ የአይሁድ ንጉሥ ሆይ!» አሉ በጥፊም መቱት።BSBBSB: And they went up to Him again and again, saying, “Hail, King of the Jews!” and slapping Him in the face.
4. 4ULBከዚያም ጲላጦስ እንደ ገና ወደ ወጥቶ ሕዝቡን፣ «ምንም ጥፋት እንዳላገኘሁበት እንድታውቁ እነሆ፣ ሰውየውን ወደ ውጭ አወጣላችኋለሁ» አላቸው።BSBBSB: Once again Pilate came out and said to the Jews, “Look, I am bringing Him out to you to let you know that I find no basis for a charge against Him.”
5. 5ULBስለዚህ ኢየሱስ የእሾኽ አክሊል ደፍቶና ሐምራዊ ልብስ ለብሶ ወደ ውጭ ወጣ። ጲላጦስም፣ «እነሆ፣ ሰውየው!» አላቸው።BSBBSB: When Jesus came out wearing the crown of thorns and the purple robe, Pilate said to them, “Here is the man!”
6. 6ULBየካህናት አለቆችና ጠባቂዎቹ ኢየሱስን ባዩ ጊዜ፣ «ስቀለው፣ ስቀለው» እያሉ ጮኹ። ጲላጦስ፣ «እናንተ ወስዳችሁ ስቀሉት፤ እኔ ምንም ወንጀል አላገኘሁበትም» አላቸው።BSBBSB: As soon as the chief priests and officers saw Him, they shouted, “Crucify Him! Crucify Him!” “You take Him and crucify Him,” Pilate replied, “for I find no basis for a charge against Him.”
7. 7ULBአይሁድ፣ «እኛ ሕግ አለን፣ በሕጋችን መሠረትም ይህ ሰው ራሱን የእግዚአብሔር ልጅ አድርጓልና ሞት ይገባዋል» ብለው መለሱ።BSBBSB: “We have a law,” answered the Jews, “and according to that law He must die, because He declared Himself to be the Son of God.”
8. 8ULBጲላጦስ ይህን ሲሰማ የበለጠ ደነገጠ፤BSBBSB: When Pilate heard this statement, he was even more afraid,
9. 9ULBወደ ግቢውም ተመልሶ ኢየሱስን፣ «ከየት ነው የመጣኸው?» ብሎ ጠየቀው። ኢየሱስ ግን ምንም አልመለሰለትም።BSBBSB: and he went back into the Praetorium. “Where are You from?” he asked. But Jesus gave no answer.
10. 10ULBጲላጦስም ኢየሱስን፣ «አናግረኝ እንጂ፤ ልፈታህም ሆነ ልሰቅልህ ሥልጣን እንዳለኝ አታውቅም እንዴ?» አለው።BSBBSB: So Pilate said to Him, “Do You refuse to speak to me? Do You not know that I have authority to release You and authority to crucify You?”
11. 11ULBኢየሱስ፣ «ከላይ ባይሰጥህ ኖሮ በእኔ ላይ ምንም ሥልጣን ባልኖረህ ነበር። ስለዚህም ለአንተ አሳልፎ የሰጠኝ ኀጢአቱ የከፋ ነው» አለው።BSBBSB: Jesus answered, “You would have no authority over Me if it were not given to you from above. Therefore the one who handed Me over to you is guilty of greater sin.”
12. 12ULBከዚህ መልሱ የተነሣ ጲላጦስ ሊፈታው ፈለገ፣ ነገር ግን አይሁድ፣ «ራሱን ንጉሥ ብሎ የሚጠራ ቄሣርን የሚቃወም ስለ ሆነ፣ ይህን ሰው ብትለቀው አንተ የቄሣር ወዳጅ አይደለህም» እያሉ ይጮኹ ነበር።BSBBSB: From then on, Pilate tried to release Him, but the Jews kept shouting, “If you release this man, you are no friend of Caesar. Anyone who declares himself a king is defying Caesar.”
13. 13ULBጲላጦስ እነዚህን ቃላት በሰማ ጊዜ ኢየሱስን ወደ ውጭ አውጥቶ የድንጋይ ንጣፍ፣ በዕብራይስጥ ግን ገበታ ተብሎ በሚጠራ ስፍራ በፍርድ ወንበር ላይ ተቀመጠ።BSBBSB: When Pilate heard these words, he brought Jesus out and sat on the judgment seat at a place called the Stone Pavement, which in Hebrew is Gabbatha.
14. 14ULBቀኑ ለፋሲካ በዓል ዝግጅት የሚደረግበትና ሰዓቱም ከቀኑ ስድስት ሰዓት አካባቢ ነበር። ጲላጦስ አይሁድን፣ «እነሆ፣ ንጉሣችሁ» አላቸው።BSBBSB: It was the day of Preparation for the Passover, about the sixth hour. And Pilate said to the Jews, “Here is your King!”
15. 15ULBእነርሱም፣ «አስወግደው፣ አስወግደው፣ ስቀለው!» እያሉ ጮኹ። እርሱ፣ «ንጉሣችሁን ልስቀለውን?» አላቸው። የካህናት አለቆችም፣ «እኛ ከቄሣር በቀር ሌላ ንጉሥ አናውቅም» ብለው መለሱለት።BSBBSB: At this, they shouted, “Away with Him! Away with Him! Crucify Him!” “Shall I crucify your King?” Pilate asked. “We have no king but Caesar,” replied the chief priests.
16. 16ULBስለዚህ ጲላጦስ ኢየሱስን እንዲሰቅሉት ፈቀደላቸው።BSBBSB: Then Pilate handed Jesus over to be crucified, and the soldiers took Him away.
17. 17ULBከዚያም ኢየሱስን፣ የሚሰቀልበትን መስቀል አሸክመው የራስ ቅል፣ በዕብራይስጥ ደግሞ ጎልጎልታ ወደሚባል ቦታ ወሰዱት።BSBBSB: Carrying His own cross, He went out to The Place of the Skull, which in Hebrew is called Golgotha.
18. 18ULBበዚያም ስፍራ ሰቀሉት፤ ሁለት ሌሎች ሰዎችንም በኢየሱስ ግራና ቀኝ ሰቀሉ።BSBBSB: There they crucified Him, and with Him two others, one on each side, with Jesus in the middle.
19. 19ULBጲላጦስም ጽሑፍ አዘጋጅቶ በኢየሱስ መስቀል ላይ አስቀመጠ። ጽሑፉም፣ «የናዝሬቱ ኢየሱስ፣ የአይሁድ ንጉሥ» የሚል ነበር።BSBBSB: Pilate also had a notice posted on the cross. It read: JESUS OF NAZARETH, THE KING OF THE JEWS.
20. 20ULBኢየሱስ የተሰቀለበት ቦታ ለከተማው ቅርብ ስለ ነበር፣ ብዙ አይሁድ ጽሑፉን ያነቡት ነበር። ጽሑፉም የተጻፈው በዕብራይስጥ፣ በላቲንና በግሪክ ቋንቋዎች ነበር።BSBBSB: Many of the Jews read this sign, because the place where Jesus was crucified was near the city, and it was written in Hebrew, Latin, and Greek.
21. 21ULBየአይሁድ የካህናት አለቆችም ጲላጦስን «እርሱ ራሱን 'የአይሁድ ንጉሥ ነኝ' ብሏል ብለህ ነው እንጂ፣ 'የአይሁድ ንጉሥ' ብለህ መጻፍ የለብህም» አሉት።BSBBSB: So the chief priests of the Jews said to Pilate, “Do not write, ‘The King of the Jews,’ but only that He said, ‘I am the King of the Jews.’”
22. 22ULBጲላጦስም፣ «አንዴ የጻፍሁትን ጽፌአለሁ» አላቸው።BSBBSB: Pilate answered, “What I have written, I have written.”
23. 23ULBወታደሮቹ ኢየሱስን ከሰቀሉት በኋላ ልብሱን ወስደው ለእያንዳንዳቸው እንዲዳረስ አድርገው አራት ቦታ ቈራረጡት፣ እጀ ጠባቡንም ወሰዱ።BSBBSB: When the soldiers had crucified Jesus, they divided His garments into four parts, one for each soldier, with the tunic remaining. It was seamless, woven in one piece from top to bottom.
24. 24ULBእጀ ጠባቡ ግን ከላይ ጀምሮ ወጥ ሆኖ የተሠራ ነበረና እርስ በርሳቸው «ከምንቀደው ዕጣ እንጣጣልና የሚደርሰው ይውሰደው» ተባባሉ። ይህም የሆነው በቅዱስ መጽሐፍ፣ «ልብሴን ተከፋፈሉት በእጀ ጠባቤም ላይ ዕጣ ተጣጣሉበት» የተባለው ቃል እንዲፈጸም ነው።BSBBSB: So they said to one another, “Let us not tear it. Instead, let us cast lots to see who will get it.” This was to fulfill the Scripture: “They divided My garments among them, and cast lots for My clothing.” So that is what the soldiers did.
25. 25ULBወታደሮቹ ይህን በሚያደርጉበት ጊዜ የኢየሱስ እናት ማርያም፣ የእናቱ እኅት፣ የቀለዮጳ ሚስት ማርያምና መግደላዊት ማርያም በዚያ በኢየሱስ መስቀል አጠገብ ቆመው ነበር።BSBBSB: Near the cross of Jesus stood His mother and her sister, as well as Mary the wife of Clopas and Mary Magdalene.
26. 26ULBኢየሱስ እናቱንና ይወደው የነበረውን ደቀ መዝሙር አብረው ቆመው ባየ ጊዜ፣ እናቱን «አንቺ ሴት እነሆ፣ ከአጠገብሽ ያለው እንደ ልጅሽ ይሁንልሽ» አላት፤BSBBSB: When Jesus saw His mother and the disciple whom He loved standing nearby, He said to His mother, “Woman, here is your son.”
27. 27ULBደቀ መዝሙሩንም፣ «እነኋት፣ በአጠገብህ ያለችው እንደ እናትህ ትሁንልህ» አለው። ከዚያች ሰዓት ጀምሮ ደቀ መዝሙሩ ወደ ቤቱ ወሰዳት።BSBBSB: Then He said to the disciple, “Here is your mother.” So from that hour, this disciple took her into his home.
28. 28ULBኢየሱስ ሁሉ እንደ ተፈጸመ ዐውቆ፣ በቅዱሳት መጻሕፍት የተጻፈው እንዲፈጸም፣ «ተጠማሁ» አለ።BSBBSB: After this, knowing that everything had now been accomplished, and to fulfill the Scripture, Jesus said, “I am thirsty.”
29. 29ULBበዚያም በሆምጣጤ የተሞላ ዕቃ ተቀምጦ ነበር፤ ወዲያውም በሆምጣጤ የተሞላ ሰፍነግ በሂሶጵ ወደ አፉ አስጠጉለት።BSBBSB: A jar of sour wine was sitting there. So they soaked a sponge in the wine, put it on a stalk of hyssop, and lifted it to His mouth.
30. 30ULBኢየሱስም ሆምጣጤውን ከጠጣ በኋላ «ተፈጸመ» አለ። ራሱንም አዘንብሎ ሞተ።BSBBSB: When Jesus had received the sour wine, He said, “It is finished.” And bowing His head, He yielded up His spirit.
31. 31ULBቀኑ የመዘጋጀት ቀን በመሆኑና ሰንበትም በአይሁድ ዘንድ በጣም የሚከበር ስለነበረ በሰንበት ሥጋቸው በመስቀል ላይ መቆየት ስለሌለበት የሞት ፍርድ የተፈጸመባቸው ሰዎች እግሮቻቸው እየተሰበረ ሥጋቸው ከመስቀል እንዲወርድ አይሁድ ጲላጦስን ለመኑት።BSBBSB: It was the day of Preparation, and the next day was a High Sabbath. In order that the bodies would not remain on the cross during the Sabbath, the Jews asked Pilate to have the legs broken and the bodies removed.
32. 32ULBከዚያም ወታደሮቹ መጥተው ከኢየሱስ ጋር ከተሰቀሉት ሰዎች በመጀመሪያ የአንዱን፣ ቀጥሎም የሌላኛውን ሰው እግሮች ሰበሩ።BSBBSB: So the soldiers came and broke the legs of the first man who had been crucified with Jesus, and those of the other.
33. 33ULBወደ ኢየሱስ በመጡ ጊዜ ግን ሞቶ ስላገኙት እግሮቹን አልሰበሩም።BSBBSB: But when they came to Jesus and saw that He was already dead, they did not break His legs.
34. 34ULBይሁን እንጂ፣ ከወታደሮቹ አንዱ ጐኑን በጦር ወጋው፣ ወዲያውም ከጐኑ ደምና ውሃ ወጣ።BSBBSB: Instead, one of the soldiers pierced His side with a spear, and immediately blood and water flowed out.
35. 35ULBይህን ያየው ሰው ስለዚህ መስክሯል፣ ምስክርነቱም እውነት ነው። እናንተም እንድታምኑ የተናገረው እውነት እንደ ሆነ ያውቃል።BSBBSB: The one who saw it has testified to this, and his testimony is true. He knows that he is telling the truth, so that you also may believe.
36. 36ULBእነዚህ ነገሮች የሆኑት «ከዐጥንቱ አንድም አይሰበርም» የሚለው የመጽሐፍ ቃል እንዲፈጸም ነው።BSBBSB: Now these things happened so that the Scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of His bones will be broken.”
37. 37ULBደግሞም በሌላ መጽሐፍ፣ «የወጉትን ያዩታል» ተብሎ ተጽፎአል።BSBBSB: And, as another Scripture says: “They will look on the One they have pierced.”
38. 38ULBከእነዚህ ነገሮች በኋላ አይሁድን ፈርቶ በድብቅ የኢየሱስ ደቀ መዝሙር የነበረውና ከአርማትያስ ከተማ የሆነው ዮሴፍ የኢየሱስን አስከሬን ለመውሰድ ጲላጦስን ለመነ። ጲላጦስም ፈቀደለት። ዮሴፍም መጥቶ የኢየሱስን አስከሬን ወሰደ።BSBBSB: Afterward, Joseph of Arimathea, who was a disciple of Jesus (but secretly for fear of the Jews), asked Pilate to let him remove the body of Jesus. Pilate gave him permission, so he came and removed His body.
39. 39ULBበአንድ ወቅት በሌሊት ወደ ኢየሱስ መጥቶ የነበረው ኒቆዲሞስም አንድ መቶ ነጥር ያህል የእሬትና የከርቤ ቅልቅል ይዞ መጣ።BSBBSB: Nicodemus, who had previously come to Jesus at night, also brought a mixture of myrrh and aloes, about seventy-five pounds.
40. 40ULBስለዚህ የኢየሱስን አስከሬን ወስደው በአይሁድ ባህል አስከሬን ከመቀበሩ በፊት እንደሚደረገው ልማድ አስከሬኑን ሽቱ በተቀባ በበፍታ ጨርቅ ገነዙት።BSBBSB: So they took the body of Jesus and wrapped it in linen cloths with the spices, according to the Jewish burial custom.
41. 41ULBኢየሱስ ከተቀበረበት ቦታ አጠገብ የአትክልት ስፍራ ነበረ፤ በዚያም ማንም ገና ያልተቀበረበት ዐዲስ መቃብር ይገኝ ነበረ።BSBBSB: Now there was a garden in the place where Jesus was crucified, and in the garden a new tomb in which no one had yet been laid.
42. 42ULBቀኑ ለአይሁድ የመዘጋጀት ቀን በመሆኑና መቃብሩም ቅርብ ስለ ነበር፣ የኢየሱስን አስከሬን በዐዲሱ መቃብር አኖሩት።BSBBSB: And because it was the Jewish day of Preparation and the tomb was nearby, they placed Jesus there.
