1 ULB በእግዚአብሔር የቁጣ በትር መከራ ያየ ሰው እኔ ነኝ። BSB BSB: I am the man who has seen affliction under the rod of God’s wrath.
2 ULB አባረረኝ፥ በብርሃን ሳይሆን በጨለማ እንድሄድ አደረገኝ። BSB BSB: He has driven me away and made me walk in darkness instead of light.
3 ULB በእርግጥ ሊቃወመኝ ወደ እኔ ዘወር አለ፥ ቀኑን ሙሉ እጁን በላዬ መለሰ። BSB BSB: Indeed, He keeps turning His hand against me all day long.
4 ULB ሥጋዬንና ቆዳዬን ቀደደ፥ አጥንቶቼን ሰበረ። BSB BSB: He has worn away my flesh and skin; He has shattered my bones.
5 ULB ቅጥር በዙሪያዬ ገነባብኝ፥ በምሬትና በመከራም ከበበኝ። BSB BSB: He has besieged me and surrounded me with bitterness and hardship.
6 ULB ከሞቱ ረዥም ጊዜ እንደሆናቸው በጨለማ ስፍራ እንድኖር አደረገኝ። BSB BSB: He has made me dwell in darkness like those dead for ages.
7 ULB በዙሪያዬ ቅጥርን ገነባ፥ ማምለጥም አልችልም። የእግሬን ሰንሰለት አከበደ። BSB BSB: He has walled me in so I cannot escape; He has weighed me down with chains.
8 ULB ለርዳታ ብጮኽና ብጣራም ጸሎቴን ዘጋ። BSB BSB: Even when I cry out and plead for help, He shuts out my prayer.
9 ULB ከጥርብ ድንጋይ በተሰራ ቅጥር መንገዴን ዘጋ፤የምሄድብት የትኛውም መንገድ ጠማማ ሆን። BSB BSB: He has barred my ways with cut stones; He has made my paths crooked.
10 ULB መንገዴን ቀየረው። BSB BSB: He is a bear lying in wait, a lion hiding in ambush.
11 ULB ገነጣጠለኝ፥ብቸኛም አደረገኝ። BSB BSB: He forced me off my path and tore me to pieces; He left me without help.
12 ULB ቀስቱን ለጠጠ፥ ለፍላጻውም የዒላማ ምልክት አደረገኝ። BSB BSB: He bent His bow and set me as the target for His arrow.
13 ULB ቀስቱን ለጠጠ፥ ለፍላጻውም የዒላማ ምልክት አደረገኝ። ለሰዎች ሁሉ መሳለቂያ፥ ዘወትርም ለሽሙጥጯ ዝማሬያቸው ምክንያት ሆንኩ። ምሬት ሞላብኝ፥ እሬት እንድጠጣ አስገደደኝ። BSB BSB: He pierced my kidneys with His arrows.
14 ULB ለሰዎች ሁሉ መሳለቂያ፥ ዘወትርም ለሽሙጥጯ ዝማሬያቸው ምክንያት ሆንኩ። BSB BSB: I am a laughingstock to all my people; they mock me in song all day long.
15 ULB ምሬት ሞላብኝ፥ እሬት እንድጠጣ አስገደደኝ። BSB BSB: He has filled me with bitterness; He has intoxicated me with wormwood.
16 ULB ጥርሴን በድንጋይ ሰበረ፥ ወደ መሬት ውስጥ ረገጠኝ። BSB BSB: He has ground my teeth with gravel and trampled me in the dust.
17 ULB ሰላምን ከሕይወቴ አስወገድክ፤ ከእንግዲህ መቼም የትኛዉንም ደስታ አላስብም። BSB BSB: My soul has been deprived of peace; I have forgotten what prosperity is.
18 ULB ስለዚህም«ጽናቴ ጠፍቷል፥ በእግዚአብሔር ላይ ያለ ተስፋዬም ሄዷል» አልሁ። BSB BSB: So I say, “My strength has perished, along with my hope from the LORD.”
19 ULB መከራዬንና እሬትና ምሬት ወደ አለበት መጥፋቴን አስባለሁ። BSB BSB: Remember my affliction and wandering, the wormwood and the gall.
20 ULB በእርግጥ አስበዋለሁ፥ተስፋ በመቁረጥ በውስጤ አቀረቀርኩ። BSB BSB: Surely my soul remembers and is humbled within me.
21 ULB ነገር ግን ይህን አስባልሁ፥ ተስፋ ሊኖረኝ የቻለውም ከዚህ የተነሳ ነው። BSB BSB: Yet I call this to mind, and therefore I have hope:
23 ULB የምሕረቱ ሥራዎች ማለዳ ማለዳ አዲስ ናችው፤ ታማኝነትህ ምንኛ ታላቅ ነው! BSB BSB: They are new every morning; great is Your faithfulness!
24 ULB ለራሴ እንዲህ አልኩ «እግዚአብሔር ዕጣ ክፍሌ ነው» ስለዚህ ተስፋ አደርገዋለሁ። BSB BSB: “The LORD is my portion,” says my soul, “therefore I will hope in Him.”
25 ULB ለምጠብቀው፥ ለምትፈልገውም ሕይወት እግዚአብሔር መልካም ነው። BSB BSB: The LORD is good to those who wait for Him, to the soul who seeks Him.
26 ULB የእግዚአብሔርን ማዳን በዝምታ መጠበቅ መልካም ነው። BSB BSB: It is good to wait quietly for the salvation of the LORD.
27 ULB በወጣትነቱ ቀንበርን ቢሸከም ለሰው መልካም ነው። BSB BSB: It is good for a man to bear the yoke while he is still young.
28 ULB እግዚአብሔር አሸክሞታልና ለብቻው ይቀመጥ ዝምም ይበል። BSB BSB: Let him sit alone in silence, for the LORD has laid it upon him.
29 ULB ምናልባት ተስፋ ሊኖር ይችላልና አፉን በአፈር ዉስጥ ያኑር። BSB BSB: Let him bury his face in the dust—perhaps there is still hope.
30 ULB ለሚመታው ጉንጩን ይስጥ። ዉርደትንም ይጥገብ፤ BSB BSB: Let him offer his cheek to the one who would strike him; let him be filled with reproach.
31 ULB እግዚአብሔር ለዘላለም አይጥለውምና! BSB BSB: For the Lord will not cast us off forever.
32 ULB ሐዘንን ቢያመጣም እንኳን ከታላቁ የኪዳኑ ታማኝነት በሚሆን ርኅራኄ ይራራል። BSB BSB: Even if He causes grief, He will show compassion according to His abundant loving devotion.
33 ULB ምክንያቱም ከልቡ አይጨቁንም፥ወይንም የሰዎችን ልጆች አያሰቃይም። BSB BSB: For He does not willingly afflict or grieve the sons of men.
34 ULB በምድር ያሉ ምርኮኞችን ሁሉ ከእግሩ በታች ሲያደቅቅ፥ BSB BSB: To crush underfoot all the prisoners of the land,
35 ULB በልዑል ፊት የሰውን ፍርድ ሲያጣምም፥ BSB BSB: to deny a man justice before the Most High,
36 ULB ፍትህ ፈላጊውን ሲያፍን- ጌታ አያይምን? BSB BSB: to subvert a man in his lawsuit—of these the Lord does not approve.
37 ULB ጌታ ካላዘዘው በቀር የሚናገርና የሚፈጽመው ማን ነው? BSB BSB: Who has spoken and it came to pass, unless the Lord has ordained it?
38 ULB ጥፋትና ስኬት ከልዑል አፍ የሚወጡ አይደሉምን? BSB BSB: Do not both adversity and good come from the mouth of the Most High?
39 ULB ታዲያ ማንም ሕያው የሆነ ሰው እንዴት ሊያጉረመርም ይችላል? ማንም ሰው ስለ ኃጢአቱ ቅጣት እንዴት ሊያጉረመርም ይችላል? BSB BSB: Why should any mortal man complain, in view of his sins?
40 ULB መንገዳችንን እንፈትን እንመርምርም፥ ወደ እግዚአብሔርም እንመለስ። BSB BSB: Let us examine and test our ways, and turn back to the LORD.
41 ULB ልባችንንና እጃችንን በሰማይ ወደ አለው ወደ እግዚአብሔር እናንሣና እንዲህ ብለን BSB BSB: Let us lift up our hearts and hands to God in heaven:
42 ULB እንጽልይ፦ተላልፈናል በአንተም ላይ ዐምፀናል፥ስለዚህ ይቅር አላልከንም። BSB BSB: “We have sinned and rebelled; You have not forgiven.”
43 ULB ራስህን በቁጣ ሸፈንክ አሳደድከንም። አረድከን፥ አራራህልንምም። BSB BSB: You have covered Yourself in anger and pursued us; You have killed without pity.
44 ULB ራስህን በደመና ሸፈንክ፥ስለዚህም ማለፍ የሚችል ጸሎት የለም። BSB BSB: You have covered Yourself with a cloud that no prayer can pass through.
45 ULB በአሕዛብም መካከል ቆሻሻና ውዳቂ አደረግኽን። BSB BSB: You have made us scum and refuse among the nations.
46 ULB ጠላቶቻችን በእኛ ላይ በማላገጥ አፋቸውን ከፈቱ። BSB BSB: All our enemies open their mouths against us.
47 ULB የአሳር ጉድጓድ ፥የባዶነትና የጥፋት ፍርሃት መጣብን። BSB BSB: Panic and pitfall have come upon us—devastation and destruction.
48 ULB ስለ ሕዝቤ ሴት ልጅ ጥፋት ዓይኔ ያለማቋርጥ ውኃ አፈሰሰች። BSB BSB: Streams of tears flow from my eyes over the destruction of the daughter of my people.
49 ULB ዓይኖቼ ያፈሳሉ አያቆሙምም፥ለለቅሷቸውም ፍጻሜ የለውም፥ BSB BSB: My eyes overflow unceasingly, without relief,
50 ULB እግዚአብሔር ውደ ታች እስኪመለከት ከሰማይም እስኪያይ ድረስ። BSB BSB: until the LORD looks down from heaven and sees.
51 ULB ከከተማዬ ሴቶች ልጆች የተነሳ ዓይኔ ጽኑ ስቃይ በሕይወቴ ላይ አመጣች። BSB BSB: My eyes bring grief to my soul because of all the daughters of my city.
52 ULB ጠላቶቼ ያለ ምንም ምክንያት፥ያለመታከት እንደ ወፍ አደኑኝ። BSB BSB: Without cause my enemies hunted me like a bird.
53 ULB ሕይወቴን በጉድጓድ ዉስጥ አጠፉ፥ ድንጋይንም በላዬ ከመሩ። BSB BSB: They dropped me alive into a pit and cast stones upon me.
54 ULB ውኆች በራሴ ላይ አለፉ፤እኔም፦ «ተቆርጬአለሁ!» አልኩ። BSB BSB: The waters flowed over my head, and I thought I was going to die.
55 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ፥ ከጥልቅ ጉድጓድ ስምህን ጠራሁ። BSB BSB: I called on Your name, O LORD, out of the depths of the Pit.
56 ULB «እርዳታ ፈልጌ ስጮህ፥እረፍት ፈልጌ ስጣራ ጆሮህን አትሰውር» ባልኩኝ ጊዜ ድምጼን ሰማህ። BSB BSB: You heard my plea: “Do not ignore my cry for relief.”
57 ULB በጠራሁህ ቀን ወደ እኔ ቀርበህ «አትፍራ» አልከኝ። BSB BSB: You drew near when I called on You; You said, “Do not be afraid.”
58 ULB ጌታ ሆይ በተከሰስሁ ጊዜ ስለ ነፍሴ ተሟገትህ፤ ሕይወቴንም አዳንክ። BSB BSB: You defend my cause, O Lord; You redeem my life.
59 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ እንዴት እንደ ጨቆኑኝ አይተሃል፥ ክርክሬን በጽድቅ ፍረድልኝ። BSB BSB: You have seen, O LORD, the wrong done to me; vindicate my cause!
60 ULB በእኔ ላይ የዶለቱትን ሁሉ፥የበቀላቸውን ሥራ ሁሉ አይተሃል። BSB BSB: You have seen all their malice, all their plots against me.
61 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ በእኔ ላይ የዶለቱትን ሁሉና እሽሙጥጫቸውን ሰምተሃል። BSB BSB: O LORD, You have heard their insults, all their plots against me—
62 ULB በእኔ ላይ የተነሱብኝን ከንፈሮች ሰምተሃል፤ቀኑን ሁሉ እኔን በመቃወም የሚያስቡትን ጥልቅ አሳቦች ሰምተሃል። BSB BSB: the slander and murmuring of my assailants against me all day long.
63 ULB እግአብሔር ሆይ! ተመልከት፥ በመቀመጣቸውም ሆነ በመነሳታችው የስላቅ ዘፈናቸው ምክንያት ነኝ። BSB BSB: When they sit and when they rise, see how they mock me in song.
64 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ እጆቻቸው እንዳደረጉት ክፉ ነገር እንደዚያው መልሰህ ክፈላቸው። BSB BSB: You will pay them back what they deserve, O LORD, according to the work of their hands.
65 ULB ፍርሃትን በልባቸው አድርግ፥ ርግማንህንም በላይቸው አድርግ። BSB BSB: Put a veil of anguish over their hearts; may Your curse be upon them!
66 ULB እግዚአብሔር ሆይ! በቁጣህ አሳድዳችው፥ከሰማይት በታች በየስፍራው አጥፋቸው። BSB BSB: You will pursue them in anger and exterminate them from under Your heavens, O LORD.
