1 ULB ያህዌ ሙሴንና አሮንን እንዲህ አላቸው፣ BSB BSB: The LORD spoke again to Moses and Aaron, telling them,
2 ULB “ለእስራኤል ሰዎች እንዲህ በሏቸው፣ ‘በምድር ላይ ከሚገኙ እንስሳት ሁሉ የምትመገቧቸው ህያዋን ነገሮች እነዚህ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: “Say to the Israelites, ‘Of all the beasts of the earth, these ones you may eat:
3 ULB የተሰነጠቀ ሰኮና ያላቸውንና የሚያመሰኩትን ትመገባላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: You may eat any animal that has a split hoof completely divided and that chews the cud.
4 ULB ሆኖም፣ የሚያመሰኩ ቢሆኑም ነገር ግን የተሰነጠቀ ሰኮና የሌላቸውን እንደ ግመል ያሉትን አትብሉ፤ምክንያቱም ያመሰኳሉ ነገር ግን ሰኮናው አልተሰነጠቀም፡፡ ስለዚህ ግመል ለእናንተ ንጹህ አይደለም፡፡ BSB BSB: But of those that only chew the cud or only have a divided hoof, you are not to eat the following: The camel, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is unclean for you.
5 ULB እንዲሁም ሽኮኮ ያመሰኳል ነገር ግን የተሰነጠቀ ሰኮና የለውም፣ ይህም ለእናንተ ንጹህ አይደለም፡፡ BSB BSB: The rock badger, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is unclean for you.
6 ULB ጥንቸል ቢያመሰኳም የተሰነጠቀ ሰኮና ስለሌለው ለእናንተ ንጹህ አይደለም፡፡ BSB BSB: The rabbit, though it chews the cud, does not have a divided hoof; it is unclean for you.
8 ULB የእነዚህን ስጋ ፈጽሞ አትብሉ፣ ጥንባቸውንም አትንኩ፡፡ እነርሱ ለእናንተ ንጹህ አይደሉም፡፡ BSB BSB: You must not eat their meat or touch their carcasses; they are unclean for you.
9 ULB በውቂያኖስም ሆነ በባህር በውሃ ውስጥ ከሚኖሩ እንስሳት የምትበሏቸው ክንፍና ቅርፊት ያላቸው ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Of all the creatures that live in the water, whether in the seas or in the streams, you may eat anything with fins and scales.
10 ULB ነገር ግን በውቂያኖስ ወይም በባህር የሚኖሩ ክንፍና ቅርፊት የሌላቸው ህያዋን ፍጥረታት ሁሉ፣በውሃ ውስጥ የሚንቀሳቀሱትን ጨምሮ እንዲሁም በውሃ ውስጥ ያሉት እንዲህ ያሉ ህያዋን ፍጥረታት በሙሉ በእናንተ ዘንድ ጸያፍ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: But the following among all the teeming life and creatures in the water are detestable to you: everything in the seas or streams that does not have fins and scales.
11 ULB ጸያፍ ሊሆኑ ስለሚገባቸውም፣ ስጋቸውን ልትበሉ አይገባም፣ እንደዚሁም በድናቸውም ጸያፍ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: They shall be an abomination to you; you must not eat their meat, and you must detest their carcasses.
12 ULB በውሃ ውስጥ የሚኖሩ ቅርፊት የሌላቸው እንስሳት ሁሉ፣በእናንተ ዘንድ ጸያፍ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Everything in the water that does not have fins and scales shall be detestable to you.
13 ULB ልትጸየፏቸው የሚገቡና የማትበሏቸው ወፎች እነዚህ ናቸው፤ ንስር፣ ጥንብ አንሳ፣ BSB BSB: Additionally, you are to detest the following birds, and they must not be eaten because they are detestable: the eagle, the bearded vulture, the black vulture,
14 ULB ጭላት፣ ማንኛውም አይነት የሎስ BSB BSB: the kite, any kind of falcon,
15 ULB ማንኛውም አይነት ቁራ፣ BSB BSB: any kind of raven,
16 ULB የተለያ አይነት ጉጉት፣ የባህር ወፍ እና ማንኛውም ዐይነት ጭልፊት፡፡ BSB BSB: the ostrich, the screech owl, the gull, any kind of hawk,
17 ULB ትናንሽና ትላልቅ ጉጉቶችን ትጸየፋላችሁ፣ርኩምና ጋጋኖ፣ BSB BSB: the little owl, the cormorant, the great owl,
18 ULB የተለያዩ ጉጉቶች፣ ይብራ፣ BSB BSB: the white owl, the desert owl, the osprey,
19 ULB ሽመላ፣ ማናቸውም ዐይነት የውሃ ወፍ፣ ሳቢሳ፣ ጅንጁላቲ ወፍና የለሊት ወፍ፡፡ BSB BSB: the stork, any kind of heron, the hoopoe, and the bat.
20 ULB በእግራቸው የሚራዱ ክንፍ ያላቸው በራሪ ነፍሳት በሙሉ በእናንተ ዘንድ አስጸያፊ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: All flying insects that walk on all fours are detestable to you.
21 ULB ሆኖም ግን ከእግራቸው በላይ በምድር ላይ የሚፈናጠሩበት አንጓ ያላቸውን ማናቸውንም የሚበሩ ነፍሳት መብላት ትችላላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: However, you may eat the following kinds of flying insects that walk on all fours: those having jointed legs above their feet for hopping on the ground.
22 ULB እንደዚሁም ደግሞ ማናቸውንም ዐይነት አንበጣ፣ ትልቅ የአንበጣ ዝርያ፣ ፌንጣና ዝንቢት መብላት ትችላላችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: Of these you may eat any kind of locust, katydid, cricket, or grasshopper.
23 ULB ነገር ግን አራት እግር ያላቸው የሚበሩ ነፍሳት ሁሉ በእናንተ ዘንድ የተጠሉ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: All other flying insects that have four legs are detestable to you.
24 ULB ከእነዚህ እንስሳት ውስጥ የአንዱን በድን ብትነኩ እስከ ማታ ድረስ የረደሳችሁ ናችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: These creatures will make you unclean. Whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean until evening,
25 ULB ከእነዚህ የአንዱን በድን ያነሳ ማንም ሰው ልብሱን ይጠብ፣ እስከ ማታ ድረስ እርኩስ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: and whoever picks up one of their carcasses must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean until evening.
26 ULB ማንኛውም ሙሉ ለሙሉ ያልተሰነጠቀ ሰኮና ያለው እንስሳ ወይም የማያመሰኳ እንስሳ በእናንተ ዘንድ ጸያፍ ነው፡፡ እነዚህን የነካ ሁሉ ይረክሳል፡፡ BSB BSB: Every animal with hooves not completely divided or that does not chew the cud is unclean for you. Whoever touches any of them will be unclean.
27 ULB በአራት እግሩ ከሚራመድ እንስሳ መሃል በመዳፋቸው የሚሄዱ ሁሉ በእናንተ ዘንድ እርሱስ ናቸው፡፡ እንደነዚህ ያሉትን በድናቸውን የነካ እስከ ማታ እርኩስ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: All the four-footed animals that walk on their paws are unclean for you; whoever touches their carcasses will be unclean until evening,
28 ULB እንደነዚህ ያሉትን በድናቸውን ያነሳ ልብሱን ይጠብ እስከ ማታ ድረስ እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ እነዚህ እንስሳት በእናንተ ዘንድ እርኩስ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: and anyone who picks up a carcass must wash his clothes, and he will be unclean until evening. They are unclean for you.
29 ULB በምድር ላይ ከሚሳቡ እንስሳት መሃል፣ በእናንተ ዘንድ እርኩስ የሆኑት እነዚህ ናቸው፡ አቁስጣ፣ አይጥ፣ ማናቸውም አይነት እንሽላሊት BSB BSB: The following creatures that move along the ground are unclean for you: the mole, the mouse, any kind of great lizard,
30 ULB ትንሽ የቤት ላይ እንሽላሊት እና እስስት BSB BSB: the gecko, the monitor lizard, the common lizard, the skink, and the chameleon.
31 ULB ከሚሳቡ እንስሳት በእናንተ ዘንድ እርኩስ የሆኑት እነዚህ ናቸው፡፡ ከእነዚህ የሞቱትን አንዳቸውን የነካ ሰው እስከ ምሽት እርሱስ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: These animals are unclean for you among all the crawling creatures. Whoever touches them when they are dead shall be unclean until evening.
32 ULB ከእነዚህ መሃል አንዱ ሞቶ በማናቸውም ከእንጨት፣ ከጨርቅ፣ ከቆዳ ወይም ከበርኖስ በተሰራ ነገር ላይ ቢወድቀቅ ያዕቃ እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ ዕቃው ምንም ይሁን ለምንም አይነት ተግባር ይዋል ውሃ ውስጥ ይነከር እስከ ምሽት ድረስ እርኩስ ነው፡፡ ከዚያ ንጹህ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: When one of them dies and falls on something, that article becomes unclean; any article of wood, clothing, leather, sackcloth, or any implement used for work must be rinsed with water and will remain unclean until evening; then it will be clean.
33 ULB ንጹህ ያልሆነ እንስሳ የገባበት ወይም የነካው የሸክላ ማሰሮ እንዲሁም በውስጡ ያለው ነገር ሁሉ እርኩስ ይሆናል፤ ያንን ማሰሮ ሰባብረው፡፡ BSB BSB: If any of them falls into a clay pot, everything in it will be unclean; you must break the pot.
34 ULB ማናቸውም ለመበላት የተፈቀደ ምግብ፣ ንጹህ ካልሆነ ማሰሮ ውሃ ቢገባበት እርኩስ ይሆኖል፡፡ እንዲህ ካለው ማሰሮ ማንኛውም ነገር ቢጠጣ ያረክሳል፡፡ BSB BSB: Any food coming into contact with water from that pot will be unclean, and any drink in such a container will be unclean.
35 ULB እርኩስ ከሆነ እንስሳ በድን ማናቸውም አካሉ የወደቀበት ምድጃም ሆነ የማብሰያ ሸክላ እንዲሁም ማንኛውም ነገር ይረክሳል፡፡ ይሰባበር፡፡ እርኩስ ነው፣ በእናንተም ዘንድ የተጠላ ይሁን፡፡ BSB BSB: Anything upon which one of their carcasses falls will be unclean. If it is an oven or cooking pot, it must be smashed; it is unclean and will remain unclean for you.
36 ULB የመጠጥ ውሃ የሚገኝበት ምንጭ ወይም የውሃ ጉድጓድ እንዲህ ያሉ እንስሳት ቢገኙበትም ንጹህ ነው፡፡ ነገር ግን ማንም ሰው በውሃው ውስጥ የሚገኘውን እርኩስ የሆነውን በድን ቢነካ እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: Nevertheless, a spring or cistern containing water will remain clean, but one who touches a carcass in it will be unclean.
37 ULB ንጹህ ያልሆነ እንስሳ በድን በዘር ላይ ቢወድቅ፣ እነዚያ ዘሮች የረከሱ ይሆናሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: If a carcass falls on any seed for sowing, the seed is clean;
38 ULB ነገር ግን በዘሮቹ ላይ ውሃ ቢፈስ ንጹህ ያልሆነው እንስሳ በድን ማንኛውም አካል የተክል ዘሩ ላይ ቢወድቅ ዘሩ በእናንተ ዘንድ እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: but if water has been put on the seed and a carcass falls on it, it is unclean for you.
39 ULB ለመበላት ከተፈቀደው እንስሳ አንዱ ቢሞት፣ በድኑን የነካው ሰው እስከ ምሽት እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: If an animal that you may eat dies, anyone who touches the carcass will be unclean until evening.
40 ULB ደግሞም እንዲህ ያለውን በድን ያነሳ ሰው ልብሱን ያጥባል፣ እስከ ምሽት ድረስ እርኩስ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: Whoever eats from the carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening, and anyone who picks up the carcass must wash his clothes and will be unclean until evening.
41 ULB ማንኛውም በምድር ላይ የሚሳብ እንስሳ ጸያፍ ነው፤ አይበላም፡፡ BSB BSB: Every creature that moves along the ground is detestable; it must not be eaten.
42 ULB በሆዱ የሚሳብ እንስሳ ሁሉ፣ እና በአራቱም እግሮቹ የሚራመድ፣ወይም ማንኛውም ብዙ እግሮች ያሉት- በምድር የሚሳብ እንስሳን ሁሉ፣ አትብሉ፤ እነዚህ ጸያፍ ናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not eat any creature that moves along the ground, whether it crawls on its belly or walks on four or more feet; for such creatures are detestable.
43 ULB በደረቱ በሚሳብ ማናቸውም ህያው ፍጥረት ራሳችሁን አታርክሱ፤ እነዚህ እናንተን ያረክሳሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Do not defile yourselves by any crawling creature; do not become unclean or defiled by them.
44 ULB እኔ አምላካችሁ ያህዌ ነኝ፡፡ በምድር በሚንቀሳቀስ በማናቸውም አይነት እንስሳ ራሳችሁን አታርክሱ፡፡ BSB BSB: For I am the LORD your God; consecrate yourselves, therefore, and be holy, because I am holy. You must not defile yourselves by any creature that crawls along the ground.
45 ULB እኔ አምላካችሁ እሆን ዘንድ ከግብጽ ምድር ያወጣኋችሁ ያህዌ ነኝ፡፡ ስለዚህ እኔ ቅዱስ እንደሆንኩ እናንተም ቅዱስ መሆን አለባችሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: For I am the LORD, who brought you up out of the land of Egypt so that I would be your God; therefore be holy, because I am holy.
46 ULB ስለ እንስሳት፣ ስለ ወፎች፣ በውሃ ውስጥ ስለሚንቀሳቀሱ ማናቸውም ህያዋን ፍጥረታት፣ እንዲሁም በምድር ላይ ስለሚሳቡ ፍጥረታት ህጉ ይህ ነው፤ BSB BSB: This is the law regarding animals, birds, all living creatures that move in the water, and all creatures that crawl along the ground.
47 ULB ንጹህ ባልሆኑና ንጹህ በሆኑት መካከል ልዩነት ለመፍጠር፣ እና በሚበሉ ህያዋን ነገሮችና በማይበሉ ህያዋን ነገሮች መሃል ለመለየት ህጉ ይህ ነው፡፡’” BSB BSB: You must distinguish between the unclean and the clean, between animals that may be eaten and those that may not.’”
