1. 1ULBየዳዊት ልጅ፣ የአብርሃም ልጅ የኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ የትውልድ መጽሐፍ፡፡BSBBSB: This is the record of the genealogy of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham:
2. 2ULBአብርሃም ይስሐቅን ወለደ፤ ይስሐቅም ያዕቆብን ወለደ፤ ያዕቆብም ይሁዳንና የይሁዳን ወንድሞች ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Abraham was the father of Isaac, Isaac the father of Jacob, and Jacob the father of Judah and his brothers.
3. 3ULBይሁዳም ከትዕማር ፋሬስንና ዛራን ወለደ፤ ፋሬስም ኤስሮምን ወለደ፤ ኤስሮምም አራምን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Judah was the father of Perez and Zerah by Tamar, Perez the father of Hezron, and Hezron the father of Ram.
4. 4ULBአራምም አሚናዳብን ወለደ፤ አሚናዳብም ነአሶንን ወለደ፤ ነአሶንም ሰልሞንን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Ram was the father of Amminadab, Amminadab the father of Nahshon, and Nahshon the father of Salmon.
5. 5ULBሰልሞንም ከረዐብ ቦዔዝን ወለደ፤ ቦዔዝም ከሩት ኢዮቤድን ወለደ፤ ኢዮቤድም እሴይን ወለደ፤ እሴይም ንጉሥ ዳዊትን ወለደ፡፡BSBBSB: Salmon was the father of Boaz by Rahab, Boaz the father of Obed by Ruth, Obed the father of Jesse,
6. 6ULBንጉሥ ዳዊትም ከኦርዮ ሚስት ሰሎሞንን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: and Jesse the father of David the king. Next: David was the father of Solomon by Uriah’s wife,
7. 7ULBሰሎሞንም ሮበዓምን ወለደ፤ ሮብዓምም አብያን ወለደ፤ አብያም አሳፍን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Solomon the father of Rehoboam, Rehoboam the father of Abijah, and Abijah the father of Asa.
8. 8ULBአሳፍም ኢዮሣፍጥን ወለደ፤ ኢዮሣፍጥም ኢዮራምን ወለደ፤ ኢዮራምም ዖዝያንን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Asa was the father of Jehoshaphat, Jehoshaphat the father of Joram, and Joram the father of Uzziah.
9. 9ULBዖዝያንም ኢዮአታምን ወለደ፤ ኢዮአታምም አካዝን ወለደ፤ አካዝም ሕዝቅያስን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Uzziah was the father of Jotham, Jotham the father of Ahaz, and Ahaz the father of Hezekiah.
10. 10ULBሕዝቅያስም ምናሴን ወለደ፤ ምናሴም አሞጽን ወለደ፤ አሞጽም ኢዮስያስን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Hezekiah was the father of Manasseh, Manasseh the father of Amon, Amon the father of Josiah,
11. 11ULBኢዮስያስም በባቢሎን ምርኮ ጊዜ ኢኮንያንንና ወንድሞቹን ወለደ፡፡BSBBSB: and Josiah the father of Jeconiah and his brothers at the time of the exile to Babylon.
12. 12ULBከባቢሎን ምርኮ በኋላም፣ ኢኮንያን ሰላትያልን ወለደ፤ ሰላትያልም ዘሩባቤልን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: After the exile to Babylon: Jeconiah was the father of Shealtiel, Shealtiel the father of Zerubbabel,
13. 13ULBዘሩባቤልም አብዩድን ወለደ፤ አብዩድም ኤልያቄምን ወለደ፤ ኤልያቄምም አዛርን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Zerubbabel the father of Abiud, Abiud the father of Eliakim, and Eliakim the father of Azor.
14. 14ULBአዛርም ሳዶቅን ወለደ፤ ሳዶቅም አኪምን ወለደ፤ አኪምም ኤልዩድን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Azor was the father of Zadok, Zadok the father of Achim, and Achim the father of Eliud.
15. 15ULBኤልዩድም አልዓዛርን ወለደ፤ አልዓዛርም ማታንን ወለደ፤ ማታንም ያዕቆብን ወለደ፤BSBBSB: Eliud was the father of Eleazar, Eleazar the father of Matthan, Matthan the father of Jacob,
16. 16ULBያዕቆብም ክርስቶስ ተብሎ የሚጠራውን ኢየሱስን የወለደችውን፣ የማርያምን ባል ዮሴፍን ወለደ፡፡BSBBSB: and Jacob the father of Joseph, the husband of Mary, of whom was born Jesus, who is called Christ.
17. 17ULBከአብርሃም እስከ ዳዊት፣ የነበሩት ትውልዶች ሁሉ ዐሥራ አራት፤ ከዳዊት እስከ ባቢሎን ምርኮ ድረስም እንደዚሁ ዐሥራ አራት፤ ከባቢሎን ምርኮ እስከ ክርስቶስ ድረስ የነበሩትም ዐሥራ አራት ትውልዶች ናቸው፡፡BSBBSB: In all, then, there were fourteen generations from Abraham to David, fourteen from David to the exile to Babylon, and fourteen from the exile to the Christ.
18. 18ULBየኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ ልደት በሚከተለው መንገድ ተፈጸመ፡- እናቱ ማርያም ዮሴፍን ልታገባው ታጭታ ነበር፤ ነገር ግን ሳይጋቡ በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ፀንሳ ተገኘች፡፡BSBBSB: This is how the birth of Jesus Christ came about: His mother Mary was pledged in marriage to Joseph, but before they came together, she was found to be with child through the Holy Spirit.
19. 19ULBዮሴፍ ጻድቅ ነበረ፤ በመሆኑም እርሷን በሕዝብ ፊት ሊያዋርዳት አልፈለገም፡፡ ስለዚህ ከእርሷ ጋር የነበረውን የዕጮኛነቱን ግንኙነት በምስጢር ለማቋረጥ ወሰነ፡፡BSBBSB: Because Joseph her husband was a righteous man and was unwilling to disgrace her publicly, he resolved to divorce her quietly.
20. 20ULBዮሴፍ ስለ እነዚህ ነገሮች እያሰበ ሳለ፣ የጌታ መልአክ፣ "የዳዊት ልጅ ዮሴፍ ሆይ፣ ማርያምን ለመውሰድ አትፍራ፤ ምክንያቱም እርሷ የፀነሰችው በመንፈስ ቅዱስ ነው።BSBBSB: But after he had pondered these things, an angel of the Lord appeared to him in a dream and said, “Joseph, son of David, do not be afraid to embrace Mary as your wife, for the One conceived in her is from the Holy Spirit.
21. 21ULBእርሷ ወንድ ልጅ ትወልዳለች፣ ሕዝቡንም ከኃጢአታቸው ያድናቸዋልና ስሙን ኢየሱስ ብለህ ትጠራዋለህ" በማለት ተገለጠለት።BSBBSB: She will give birth to a Son, and you are to give Him the name Jesus, because He will save His people from their sins.”
22. 22ULBይህ ሁሉ የሆነው፣ "እነሆ ድንግል ትፀንሳለች፤ ወንድ ልጅም ትወልዳለች፤ ስሙንም ዐማኑኤል ብለው ይጠሩታል፤ ትርጓሜውም እግዚአብሔር ከእኛ ጋር ነው ማለት ነው" ብሎ ጌታ በነቢይ የተናገረው እንዲፈጸም ነው።BSBBSB: All this took place to fulfill what the Lord had said through the prophet:
23. 24ULBዮሴፍ ከእንቅልፉ ነቃ፣ የጌታ መልአክ አዝዞት እንደ ነበረውም አደረገ፡- ማርያምን እን ደሚስቱ ወሰዳት፡፡BSBBSB: When Joseph woke up, he did as the angel of the Lord had commanded him and embraced Mary as his wife.
24. 25ULB(ይሁን እንጂ፣ ልጅ እስከምትወልድ ድረስ ከእርሷ ጋር ግንኙነት አላደረገም፡፡) የሕፃኑንም ስም ኢየሱስ አለው፡፡BSBBSB: But he had no union with her until she gave birth to a Son. And he gave Him the name Jesus.
