1 ULB እግዚአብሔር ትክክለኛ ያልሆነ ሚዛን ይጠላል፣ በትክክለኛ ሚዝን ግን ሚዛን ደስ ይለዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: Dishonest scales are an abomination to the LORD, but an accurate weight is His delight.
2 ULB ትዕቢት ከመጣች ውርደት ትመጣለች፣ ከትህትና ጋር ግን ጥበብ ትመጣለች፡፡ BSB BSB: When pride comes, disgrace follows, but with humility comes wisdom.
3 ULB የቅኖች ሀቀኝነታቸው ይመራቸዋል፣ የከዳተኞች ጠማማ መንገድ ግን ራሳቸውን ያጠፋቸዋል፡፡ BSB BSB: The integrity of the upright guides them, but the perversity of the faithless destroys them.
4 ULB በቁጣ ቀን ሀብት ዋጋ ቢስ ነው፣ ጽድቅ ግን ከሞት ታድንሃለች፡፡ BSB BSB: Riches are worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness brings deliverance from death.
5 ULB ነቀፋ የሌለበት ሰው ጽድቅ መንገዱን ያቀናለተል፣ ክፉዎች ግን በክፋታቸው ይወድቃሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: The righteousness of the blameless directs their path, but the wicked fall by their own wickedness.
6 ULB እግዚብሔርን ደስ የሚያሰኙ ሰዎች ጽድቃቸው ትታደጋቸዋለች፣ ከዳተኞች ግን በክፉ ምኞታቸው ይጠመዳሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: The righteousness of the upright delivers them, but the faithless are trapped by their own desires.
7 ULB ክፉ ሰው ሲሞት ተስፋው ይጠፋል፣ በብርታቱ የተመካበት ተስፋም ከንቱ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: When the wicked man dies, his hope perishes, and the hope of his strength vanishes.
8 ULB ጽድቅን የሚያደርግ ከመከራ ይድናል፣ ይልቁንም መከራው በክፉው ይመጣበታል፡፡ BSB BSB: The righteous man is delivered from trouble; in his place the wicked man goes in.
9 ULB አምላክ የለሽ ሰው በአንደበቱ ጎረቤቱን ያጠፋል፣ ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ግን በእወቀት ይድናሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: With his mouth the ungodly man destroys his neighbor, but through knowledge the righteous are rescued.
10 ULB ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ሰዎች ሲበለጽጉ ከተማ ትደሰታለች፤ ክፉዎች ሲጠፉ የደስታ ጩኸት ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: When the righteous thrive, the city rejoices, and when the wicked perish, there are shouts of joy.
11 ULB እግዚአብሔርን ደስ በሚያሰኙ ሰዎች መልካም ስጦታ ከተማ ታላቅ ትሆናለች፤ በክፉዎች አንደበት ግን ከተማ ትፈርሳለች፡፡ BSB BSB: By the blessing of the upright a city is built up, but by the mouth of the wicked it is torn down.
12 ULB ጓደኛውን የሚንቅ ሰው አእምሮ የጎደለው ነው፣ አስተዋይ ሰው ግን ዝም ይላል፡፡ BSB BSB: Whoever shows contempt for his neighbor lacks judgment, but a man of understanding remains silent.
13 ULB ለሐሜት የሚሄድ ሰው ምስጢርን ይገልጣል፣ ታማኝ ሰው ግን ምስጢርን ይሰውራል፡፡ BSB BSB: A gossip reveals a secret, but a trustworthy person keeps a confidence.
14 ULB በጥበብ አልባ አመራር ሕዝብ ይወድቃል፣ የመካሮች ብዛት ባለበት ግን ድል ይመጣል፡፡ BSB BSB: For lack of guidance, a nation falls, but with many counselors comes deliverance.
15 ULB ለማይታወቅ ሰው ዋስ የሚሆን መከራን ይቀበላል፣ በእንዲህ ዓይነት ሁኔታ ዋስ ለመሆን የሚጠላ ሰው ግን ይድናል፡፡ BSB BSB: He who puts up security for a stranger will surely suffer, but the one who hates indebtedness is secure.
16 ULB ሞገስ ያላት ሴት ክብር ታገኛለች፣ ጨካኝ ሰዎች ግን ሀብትን ብቻ ያገኛሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: A gracious woman attains honor, but ruthless men gain only wealth.
17 ULB ደግ ሰው ራሱን ይጠቅማል፣ ጨካኝ ሰው ግን ራሱን ይጎዳል፡፡ BSB BSB: A kind man benefits himself, but a cruel man brings trouble on himself.
18 ULB ክፉ ሰው ደመወዙን ለማግኘት ይዋሻል፣ ጽድቅን የሚዘራ ግን የእውነትን ደመወዝ ይሰበስባል፡፡ BSB BSB: The wicked man earns an empty wage, but he who sows righteousness reaps a true reward.
19 ULB ጽድቅን የሚያደርግ ታማኝ ሰው በሕይወት ይኖራል፣ ክፋትን የሚያደርግ ግን ይሞታል፡፡ BSB BSB: Genuine righteousness leads to life, but the pursuit of evil brings death.
20 ULB እግዚአብሔር ጠማማ ልብ ያላቸውን ይጠላል፣ በመንገዳቸው ነቀፋ በሌለባቸው ሰዎች ግን ደስ ይሰኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: The perverse in heart are an abomination to the LORD, but the blameless in their walk are His delight.
21 ULB ክፉ ሰዎች ሳይቀጡ እንደማይቀሩ ይህን እርግጠኛ ሁን፣ ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ሰዎች ዘሮች ግን ይድናሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Be assured that the wicked will not go unpunished, but the offspring of the righteous will escape.
22 ULB በአሳማ አፍንጫ እንደተሰካ የወርቅ ቀለበት፣ ማስተዋል የሌላትም ቆንጆ ሴት እንዲሁ ናት፡፡ BSB BSB: Like a gold ring in a pig’s snout is a beautiful woman who lacks discretion.
23 ULB ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ሰዎች ምኞት መልካም ውጤት ያመጣል፣ ክፉ ሰዎች ግን ተስፋ ሊያደርጉት የሚችሉት መቅሰፍት ብቻ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: The desire of the righteous leads only to good, but the hope of the wicked brings wrath.
24 ULB ዘርን የሚዘራ አንድ ሰው አለ፣ እርሱ ይበልጥ ይሰበስባል፤ ሌላ ደግሞ የማይዘራ አለ፣ እርሱ ይደኸያል፡፡ BSB BSB: One gives freely, yet gains even more; another withholds what is right, only to become poor.
25 ULB ለጋስ ሰው ይበለጽጋል፣ ለሌሎች ውኃ የሚሰጥ ደግሞ ለራሱም ውኃ ያገኛል፡፡ BSB BSB: A generous soul will prosper, and he who refreshes others will himself be refreshed.
26 ULB እህል ለመሸጥ ፈቃደኛ ያልሆነ ሰው ሕዝብ ይረግመዋል፣ በሚሸጠው ግን መልካም ስጦታዎችን በራሱ ላይ እንደ አክሊል ይጎናጸፋል፡፡ BSB BSB: The people will curse the hoarder of grain, but blessing will crown the one who sells it.
27 ULB መልካምን ነገር ተግቶ የሚፈልግ ሞገስን ይፈልጋል፣ ክፉን የሚፈልግ ግን ክፉ በራሱ ላይ ይመጣበታል፡፡ BSB BSB: He who searches out good finds favor, but evil will come to him who seeks it.
28 ULB በባለጠግነታቸው ላይ የሚታመኑ ሰዎች ይወድቃሉ፣ ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ግን እንደ ቅጠል ይለመልማሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: He who trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like foliage.
29 ULB በቤተሰቡ ላይ ሁከትን የሚያመጣ ሰው ነፋስን ይወርሳል፣ ሞኝም ሰው በልቡ ጥበበኛ ለሆነው ሰው አገልጋይ ይሆናል፡፡ BSB BSB: He who brings trouble on his house will inherit the wind, and the fool will be servant to the wise of heart.
30 ULB ጽድቅን የሚያደርጉ ሰዎች እንደ ሕይወት ዛፍ ይሆናሉ፣ ሁከት ግን ሕይወትን ያጠፋል፡፡ BSB BSB: The fruit of the righteous is a tree of life, and he who wins souls is wise.
31 ULB ጽድቅን የሚደርጉ ሰዎች ለሰሩት ስራ የሚገባቸውን የሚቀበሉ ከሆነ፣ ይልቁንስ ክፉዎችና ኃጢአተኞች እንዴት አይቀበሉ! BSB BSB: If the righteous receive their due on earth, how much more the ungodly and the sinner!
