1 ULB ሕዝቤ ሆይ፣ ትምህርቴን ሰሙ የአፌንም ቃል አድምጡ፡፡ BSB BSB: A Maskil of Asaph. Give ear, O my people, to my instruction; listen to the words of my mouth.
2 ULB አፌን በምሳሌ እከፍታለሁ ከጥንት ጀምሮ የተሰወረውን ምስጢር እገልጣለሁ፡፡ BSB BSB: I will open my mouth in parables; I will utter things hidden from the beginning,
3 ULB ይህም የሰማነውና ያወቅነው አባቶቻችንም የነገሩን ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: that we have heard and known and our fathers have relayed to us.
4 ULB እኛም ከልጆቻቸው አንደብቀውም ስለ እግዚአብሔር ኃይል ስላከናወናቸውም ታላላቅ ሥራዎችና ስላደረጋቸው ድንቅ ነገሮች ለተከታዩ ትውልድ እንገራለን፡፡ BSB BSB: We will not hide them from their children but will declare to the next generation the praises of the LORD and His might and the wonders He has performed.
5 ULB ለያዕቆብ ሥርዐትን መሠረተ ለእስራኤልም ሕግን ደነገገ፡፡ ይህንንም ለሚቀጥለው ትውልድ እንዲያስተምሩ አባቶቻችንን አዘዘ፡፡ BSB BSB: For He established a testimony in Jacob and appointed a law in Israel, which He commanded our fathers to teach to their children,
6 ULB ይህም የሚመጣው ትውልድ ሥርዐቱን እንዲያውቅ እነርሱም በተራቸው ለልጆቻቸው ገና ለሚወለዱትም እንዲነግሩ ነው፡፡ BSB BSB: that the coming generation would know them—even children yet to be born—to arise and tell their own children
7 ULB እነርሱም በእግዚአብሔር ይታመኑ የእግዚአብሔርን ሥራ አይረሱም ትእዛዞቹንም ይጠብቃሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: that they should put their confidence in God, not forgetting His works, but keeping His commandments.
8 ULB እንደ ቀድሞ አባቶቻቸው እልኸኛና ዐመፀኛ አይሆኑም፤ እነርሱ እግዚአብሔርን በማመን አልጸኑም ለእግዚአብሔር ታማኝ ሆነው አልኖሩም፡፡ BSB BSB: Then they will not be like their fathers, a stubborn and rebellious generation, whose heart was not loyal, whose spirit was not faithful to God.
9 ULB የኤፍሬም ሰዎች የታጠቁ ቀስተኖች ቢሆኑም በጦርነት ቀን ወደ ኃላ ተመለሱ፡፡ BSB BSB: The archers of Ephraim turned back on the day of battle.
10 ULB የእግዚአብሔርን ኪዳን አልጠበቁም፣ በሕጉ መሠረት መኖርም አልፈለጉም፡፡ BSB BSB: They failed to keep God’s covenant and refused to live by His law.
11 ULB ሥራዎቹን ረሱ ያሳያቸውንም ድንቆች ዘነጉ፡፡ BSB BSB: They forgot what He had done, the wonders He had shown them.
12 ULB በግብፅ ምድር፣ በዞዓር ምድር በአባቶቻቸው ፊት ያደረጋቸውን ድንቆች ዘነጋ፡፡ BSB BSB: He worked wonders before their fathers in the land of Egypt, in the region of Zoan.
13 ULB ባሕሩን ከፍሎ አሻገራቸው ውሃውንም እንደ ግድግዳ አቆመው፡፡ BSB BSB: He split the sea and brought them through; He set the waters upright like a wall.
14 ULB ቀን በደመና፣ ሌሊቱንም ሁሉ በእሳት ብርሃን መራቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He led them with a cloud by day and with a light of fire all night.
15 ULB በምድረ በዳ ዐለቱን ሰነጠቀ እንደ ባሕር የበዛ ውሃ ሰጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He split the rocks in the wilderness and gave them drink as abundant as the seas.
16 ULB ከዐለቱ ምንጭ አፈለቀ ውሃውም እንደ ወንዝ እንዲፈስ አደረገ BSB BSB: He brought streams from the stone and made water flow down like rivers.
17 ULB እነርሱ ግን ኃጢአት ማድረጋቸውን ቀጠሉ፤ በምድረ በዳ በልዑል ላይ ዐመፁ፡፡ BSB BSB: But they continued to sin against Him, rebelling in the desert against the Most High.
18 ULB የተመኙትን ምግብ በመጠየቅ፣ ሆን ብለው እግዚአብሔርን ተፈታተኑት፡፡ BSB BSB: They willfully tested God by demanding the food they craved.
19 ULB እንዲህ በማለትም በእግዚአብሔር ላይ ተናገሩ፣ «ለመሆኑ፣ እግዚአብሔር በምድረ በዳ ማዕድ ማዘጋጀት ይችላልን?» BSB BSB: They spoke against God, saying, “Can God really prepare a table in the wilderness?
20 ULB ዐለቱን ሲመታው ውሃ ተንዶለዶለ ጅረቶችም ጐረፉ፡፡ ታዲያ፣ እርሱ እንጀራንም መስጠት ይችላል? ለሕዝቡስ ሥጋ ማቅረብ ይችላል? BSB BSB: When He struck the rock, water gushed out and torrents raged. But can He also give bread or supply His people with meat?”
21 ULB ያህዌ ይህን ሲሰማ እጅግ ተቆጣ በያዕቆብ ላይ እሳት ነደደ በእስራኤልም ላይ ቁጣው ተቀጣጠሉ፡፡ BSB BSB: Therefore the LORD heard and was filled with wrath; so a fire was kindled against Jacob, and His anger flared against Israel,
22 ULB በእግዚአብሔር አላመኑም በእርሱም ማዳን አልተማመኑም፡፡ BSB BSB: because they did not believe God or rely on His salvation.
23 ULB ሆኖም እርሱ ከላይ ያሉትን ሰማያትን አዘዘ የሰማይንም በሮች ከፈተ BSB BSB: Yet He commanded the clouds above and opened the doors of the heavens.
24 ULB ይበሉ ዘንድ ለሕዝቡ መና አዘነበላቸው የሰማይንም ምግብ ሰጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He rained down manna for them to eat; He gave them grain from heaven.
25 ULB ሰዎች የመላእክትን እንጀራ በሉ፡፡ ጠግበው እስከሚተርፍ ድረስ ምግብ ላከላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: Man ate the bread of angels; He sent them food in abundance.
26 ULB የምሥራቅን ነፋስ ከሰማይ አስነሣ የደቡብንም ነፍስ በኃይሉ አመጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: He stirred the east wind from the heavens and drove the south wind by His might.
27 ULB ሥጋን እንደ ዐፈር ብዙ ውፎችንም እንደ ባሕር አሸዋ አዘነበላቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He rained meat on them like dust, and winged birds like the sand of the sea.
28 ULB ሰፈራቸው መሓል በድንኳኖቻቸውም ዙሪያ አወረደ፡፡ BSB BSB: He felled them in the midst of their camp, all around their dwellings.
29 ULB ስለዚህ እስኪጠግቡ ድረስ በሉ አጥብቀው የተመኙትን ሰጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: So they ate and were well filled, for He gave them what they craved.
30 ULB ነገር ግን ገና ምኞታቸውን ሳያረኩ፣ ምግቡ ገና አፋቸው ውስጥ እያለ፣ BSB BSB: Yet before they had filled their desire, with the food still in their mouths,
31 ULB የእግዚአብሔር ቁጣ እነርሱ ላይ ተነሣ የእስራኤልን ኃያላን ሰዎች ገደለ ምርጥ ወጣቶችንም በአጭር ቀጨ፡፡ BSB BSB: God’s anger flared against them, and He put to death their strongest and subdued the young men of Israel.
32 ULB ይህም ሆኖ፣ ኃጢአት ማድረጋቸውን ቀጠሉ፤ ድንቅ ሥራዎቹንም አላመኑም፡፡ BSB BSB: In spite of all this, they kept on sinning; despite His wonderful works, they did not believe.
33 ULB ስለዚህ ዘመናቸውን አሳጠረ ዕድሜያቸውም በሽብር እንዲያልቅ አደረገ፡፡ BSB BSB: So He ended their days in futility, and their years in sudden terror.
34 ULB እርሱ በገደላቸው ጊዜ ፈለጉት ከልባቸው በመሻትም ወደ እርሱ ተመለሱ፡፡ BSB BSB: When He slew them, they would seek Him; they repented and searched for God.
35 ULB እግዚአብሔር ዐለታቸው፣ ልዑል አምላክ ታዳጊያቸው እንደ ሆነ አስቡ፡፡ BSB BSB: And they remembered that God was their Rock, that God Most High was their Redeemer.
36 ULB ነገር ግን በአፋቸው ሸነገሉት በአንደበታቸውም ዋሹት፡፡ BSB BSB: But they deceived Him with their mouths, and lied to Him with their tongues.
37 ULB ልባቸው በእርሱ የጸና አልነበረም ለኪዳኑም ታማኞች አልነበሩም፡፡ BSB BSB: Their hearts were disloyal to Him, and they were unfaithful to His covenant.
38 ULB እርሱ ግን መሐሪ ስለሆነ ኃጢአታቸውን ይቅር አለ፤ እነርሱንም አላጠፋም ቁጣውን ብዙ ጊዜ ገታ መዐቱንም አላወረደም፡፡ BSB BSB: And yet He was compassionate; He forgave their iniquity and did not destroy them. He often restrained His anger and did not unleash His full wrath.
39 ULB ካለፈ በኋላ እንደማይመለስ ነፋስ ሥጋ ለባሾች መሆናቸውን አሰበ፡፡ BSB BSB: He remembered that they were but flesh, a passing breeze that does not return.
40 ULB በምድረ በዳ ስንት ጊዜ ዐመፁበት በበረሐስ ምን ያህል አሳዘኑት! BSB BSB: How often they disobeyed Him in the wilderness and grieved Him in the desert!
41 ULB ደግመው ደጋግመው እግዚአብሔርን ተፈታተኑት የእስራኤልንም ቅዱስ አስቆጡት፡፡ BSB BSB: Again and again they tested God and provoked the Holy One of Israel.
42 ULB ኃይሉን አላሰቡም፣ እነርሱን ከጠላቶቻቸው እጅ ያዳነበትን፣ ቀንና ታላቁን ኃይሉን አላስታወሱም፡፡ BSB BSB: They did not remember His power—the day He redeemed them from the adversary,
43 ULB በግብፅ አገር፣ በዞዓር ሜዳ ያደረጋቸውን ታላላቅ ድንቆችና ምልክቶች ዘነጉ፡፡ BSB BSB: when He performed His signs in Egypt and His wonders in the fields of Zoan.
44 ULB ከወንዞቻቸው ወሃ መጠጣት እንዳይችሉ የግብፃውያንን ወንዞች ወደ ደም ለወጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: He turned their rivers to blood, and from their streams they could not drink.
45 ULB ተናዳፊ የዝንብ ሰራዊት ሰደደባቸው፣ ጓጉንቸርም ላከባቸው፤ ምድራቸውንም አጠፋ፡፡ BSB BSB: He sent swarms of flies that devoured them, and frogs that devastated them.
46 ULB ሰብላቸውን ለኩብኩባ፣ ምርታቸውንም ለአንበጣ ሰጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: He gave their crops to the grasshopper, the fruit of their labor to the locust.
47 ULB የወይን ተክላቸውን በበረዶ የበለስ ዛፎቻቸውንም በውርጭ አጠፋ፡፡ BSB BSB: He killed their vines with hailstones and their sycamore-figs with sleet.
48 ULB ከብቶቻቸውን በበረዶ በጐቻቸውንም በመብረቅ ገደለ፡፡ BSB BSB: He abandoned their cattle to the hail and their livestock to bolts of lightning.
49 ULB ጽኑ ቁጣውን በላያቸው ሰደደ መዓቱን፣ የቅናቱንም ቁጣና መቅሠፍት ላከባቸው አጥፊ የመላእክት ሰራዊትም ሰደደባቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He unleashed His fury against them, wrath, indignation, and calamity—a band of destroying angels.
50 ULB ለቁጣው መንገድ አዘጋጀ፤ ከሞትም አላዳናቸውም፡፡ ነገር ግን ሕይወታቸውን ለመቅሠፍት አሳልፎ ሰጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: He cleared a path for His anger; He did not spare them from death but delivered their lives to the plague.
51 ULB የዐፍላ ጉልበታቸው መጀመሪያ የሆኑትን በካም ድንኳኖች፣ በኩሮቻቸውንም ሁሉ በግብፅ ምድር ፈጀ፡፡ BSB BSB: He struck all the firstborn of Egypt, the virility in the tents of Ham.
52 ULB ሕዝቡን ግን እንደ በግ አሰማራቸው በምድረ በዳ እንደ መንጋ መራቸው BSB BSB: He led out His people like sheep and guided them like a flock in the wilderness.
53 ULB በሰላም ስለ መራቸው አልፈሩም ጠላቶቻቸውን ግን ባሕር ዋጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He led them safely, so they did not fear, but the sea engulfed their enemies.
54 ULB ከዚያም ወደ ተቀደሰች ምድሩ፣ ቀኝ እጁም ወዳስገኘው ወደዚህ ተራራ አመጣቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He brought them to His holy land, to the mountain His right hand had acquired.
55 ULB ሕዝቦችን ከፊታቸው አባረረ ምድራቸውንም ርስት አድርጐ አከፋፈላቸው፡፡ የእስራኤል ነገዶችን በጠላቶቻቸው ድንኳን አኖረ፡፡ BSB BSB: He drove out nations before them and apportioned their inheritance; He settled the tribes of Israel in their tents.
56 ULB እነርሱ ግን አምላክን ተፈታተኑት በልዑልም ላይ ዐመፁ፤ ትእዛዞቹንም አልጠበቁም፡፡ BSB BSB: But they tested and disobeyed God Most High, for they did not keep His decrees.
57 ULB እንደ አባቶቻቸው ዐመፀኞችና ከዳተኞች ሆኑ፡፡ እንደማያስተማምን ጠማማ ቀስት ተወላገዱ፡፡ BSB BSB: They turned back and were faithless like their fathers, twisted like a faulty bow.
58 ULB በኮረብታ ማምለኪያዎቻቸው አስቆጡት በጣዖቶቻቸውም አስቀኑት፡፡ BSB BSB: They enraged Him with their high places and provoked His jealousy with their idols.
59 ULB እግዚአብሔር በሰማ ጊዜ እጅግ ተቆጣ እስራኤልንም ፈጽሞ ተወ፡፡ BSB BSB: On hearing it, God was furious and rejected Israel completely.
60 ULB በሰዎች መካከል የኖረባትን ድንኳን፣ በሴሎ የነበረች ማደሪያውን ተዋት፡፡ BSB BSB: He abandoned the tabernacle of Shiloh, the tent He had pitched among men.
61 ULB የኃይሉን ምልክት አስማረካት፣ ክብሩንም ለጠላቶች እጅ አሳልፎ ሰጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: He delivered His strength to captivity, and His splendor to the hand of the adversary.
62 ULB ሕዝቡን ለሰይፍ ዳረገ በርስቱም ላይ እጅግ ተቆጣ፡፡ BSB BSB: He surrendered His people to the sword because He was enraged by His heritage.
63 ULB ጐልማሶቻቸውን እሳት በላቸው ለልጃገረዶቻቸውም የሰርግ ዘፈን አልተዘፈነላቸውም፡፡ BSB BSB: Fire consumed His young men, and their maidens were left without wedding songs.
64 ULB ካህናቶቻቸው በሰይፍ ተገደሉ መበለቶቻቸው ማልቀስ ተሳናቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: His priests fell by the sword, but their widows could not lament.
65 ULB ጌታም ከእንቅልፍ እንደሚነቃ ተነሣ የወይን ጠጅ ጠጥቶ ድፍረት እንደሚሰማው ጀግና ሆነ፡፡ BSB BSB: Then the Lord awoke as from sleep, like a mighty warrior overcome by wine.
66 ULB ጠላቶቹን መትቶ ወደ ኋላ መለሳቸው የዘላለም ውርደትንም አከናነባቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: He beat back His foes; He put them to everlasting shame.
67 ULB የዮሴፍን ድንኳን ተዋት፣ የኤፍሬምንም ነገድ አልመረጠም፡፡ BSB BSB: He rejected the tent of Joseph and refused the tribe of Ephraim.
68 ULB ነገር ግን የይሁዳን ነገድና የወደዳትን የጽዮን ተራራ መረጠ፡፡ BSB BSB: But He chose the tribe of Judah, Mount Zion, which He loved.
69 ULB መቅደሱን እንደ ሰማያት፣ እርሱ ለዘላለም እንደ መሠረታት ምድር ሠራት፡፡ BSB BSB: He built His sanctuary like the heights, like the earth He has established forever.
70 ULB ባርያውን ዳዊትን መረጠ ከበጐች ጉረኖ ወሰደው፤ BSB BSB: He chose David His servant and took him from the sheepfolds;
71 ULB ለሕዝቡ ለያዕቆብ፣ ለርስቱም ለእስራኤል እረኛ ሊደርገው የሚያጠቡ በጐችን ከመከተል አመጣው፡፡ BSB BSB: from tending the ewes He brought him to be shepherd of His people Jacob, of Israel His inheritance.
72 ULB ዳዊትም በፍጹም ቅንነት ጠበቃቸው፤ በእጁ ብልኃትም መራቸው፡፡ BSB BSB: So David shepherded them with integrity of heart and guided them with skillful hands.
