But Jotham, the youngest son of Jerubbaal, survived, because he hid himself.

9কিন্তু জলপাই গছে সিহঁতক ক’লে, ‘মোৰ যি তেল ঈশ্বৰ আৰু মানুহক সন্মান কৰিবলৈ ব্যৱহাৰ হয়, তাক এৰি মই কি আন গছবোৰৰ ওপৰত কেৱল দুলি থাকিবলৈকে যামনে?’But the olive tree replied, ‘Should I stop giving my oil that honors both God and man, to hold sway over the trees?’

10গছবোৰে ডিমৰু গছক ক’লে, ‘আহাঁ তুমিয়েই আমাৰ ৰজা হোৱা।’Then the trees said to the fig tree, ‘Come and reign over us.’

11কিন্তু ডিমৰু গছে সিহঁতক ক’লে, ‘মই জানো মোৰ মিঠা সোৱাদ আৰু উত্তম ফল ত্যাগ কৰি আন গছবোৰৰ ওপৰত দুলি থাকিবলৈ যাম?’But the fig tree replied, ‘Should I stop giving my sweetness and my good fruit, to hold sway over the trees?’

12পাছে গছবোৰে দ্ৰাক্ষালতাক ক’লে, ‘তুমিয়েই আহি আমাৰ ৰজা হোৱা।’Then the trees said to the grapevine, ‘Come and reign over us.’

14তেতিয়া আটাই গছবোৰে কাঁইট গছক ক’লে, ‘তুমিয়েই আহি আমাৰ ৰজা হোৱা।’Finally all the trees said to the thornbush, ‘Come and reign over us.’

15কাঁইট গছে গছবোৰক ক’লে, ‘তোমালোকে তোমালোকৰ ৰজা হ’বলৈ মোক যদি সচাঁকৈ অভিষেক কৰিব বিচাৰা, তেন্তে আহাঁ আৰু মোৰ ছাঁত আশ্ৰয় লোৱা। তাকে যদি নকৰা, তেন্তে কাঁইট গছৰ পৰা জুই ওলাব আৰু লিবাননৰ এৰচ গছবোৰকো পুৰি পেলাব।’But the thornbush replied, ‘If you really are anointing me as king over you, come and find refuge in my shade. But if not, may fire come out of the thornbush and consume the cedars of Lebanon.’

16এতিয়া সেয়ে শুনক, অবীমেলকক ৰজা পাতি আপোনালোকে জানো সত্যতা আৰু বিশ্বস্ততাৰ কার্য কৰিছে? আপোনালোকে জানো যিৰুব্বাল আৰু তেওঁৰ পৰিয়ালৰ প্রতি সুবিচাৰ কৰিছে?Now if you have acted faithfully and honestly in making Abimelech king, if you have done well by Jerubbaal and his family, and if you have done to him as he deserves—

17মোৰ পিতৃয়ে আপোনালোকৰ কাৰণে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে, তেওঁ নিজৰ প্ৰাণকো তুচ্ছজ্ঞান কৰি মিদিয়নীয়াসকলৰ হাতৰ পৰা আপোনালোকক উদ্ধাৰ কৰিলে;for my father fought for you and risked his life to deliver you from the hand of Midian,

20কিন্তু আপোনালোকে যদি ইয়াকে নকৰে, তেনেহ’লে অবীমেলকৰ পৰা যেন জুই ওলাই আহি আপোনালোকৰ অর্থাৎ চিখিম আৰু বৈৎ-মিল্লোৰ লোকসকলক পুৰি পেলাওক; আৰু আপোনালোকৰ অর্থাৎ চিখিম আৰু বৈৎ-মিল্লোৰ লোকসকলৰ মাজৰ পৰাও যেন জুই বাহিৰ হৈ অবীমেলকক পুৰি পেলাওক।”But if not, may fire come from Abimelech and consume the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo, and may fire come from the leaders of Shechem and Beth-millo and consume Abimelech.”

21ইয়াকে কৈ যোথমে ল’ৰ মাৰি বেৰ নামৰ এখন ঠাইলৈ পলাই গ’ল। তেওঁ নিজৰ ভায়েক অবীমেলকৰ ভয়ত সেই ঠাইতে বাস কৰিলে।Then Jotham ran away, escaping to Beer, and he lived there for fear of his brother Abimelech.

22অবীমেলকে ইস্ৰায়েলৰ ওপৰত তিনিবছৰ শাসন কৰিলে।After Abimelech had reigned over Israel for three years,

24ঈশ্বৰে এই কার্য কৰিলে যাতে যিৰুব্বালৰ সত্তৰজন পুত্রলৈ ৰক্তপাতৰ যি অন্যায় কৰা হ’ল, তাৰ দ্বাৰা তেওঁলোকৰ ভায়েক অবীমেলকৰ ওপৰত আৰু তেওঁলোকক বধ কৰা কার্যত তেওঁৰ আৰু তেওঁৰ সহায়কাৰী চিখিমৰ লোকসকলৰ ওপৰত প্রতিশোধ লোৱা হয়।in order that the crime against the seventy sons of Jerubbaal might come to justice and their blood be avenged on their brother Abimelech and on the leaders of Shechem, who had helped him murder his brothers.

25সেয়ে চিখিমৰ লোকসকলে অবীমেলকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে পাহাৰৰ ওপৰত মানুহ ৰাখিলে আৰু তেওঁলোকে লুকাই থাকি সেই পথেৰে যিসকল লোক যায় তেওঁলোকক লুট-পাট কৰে। এই বিষয়ে অবীমেলকক জনোৱা হ’ল।The leaders of Shechem set up an ambush against Abimelech on the hilltops, and they robbed all who passed by them on the road. So this was reported to Abimelech.

26সেই সময়ত এবদৰ পুত্ৰ গালে নিজৰ জ্ঞাতি-কুতুম্বসকলৰ সৈতে চিখিমলৈ আহিল আৰু চিখিমৰ নেতাসকলে তেওঁৰ ওপৰত বিশ্বাস স্থাপন কৰিলে।Meanwhile, Gaal son of Ebed came with his brothers and crossed into Shechem, and the leaders of Shechem put their confidence in him.

27তেওঁলোকে খেতিলৈ গৈ দ্রাক্ষাবাৰীৰ পৰা আঙুৰ চপাই গছকিলে আৰু তাৰ ৰসেৰে উৎসৱ কৰিলে। তেওঁলোকে তেওঁলোকৰ দেৱতাৰ মন্দিৰলৈ গৈ ভোজন-পান কৰি অবীমেলকক শাও দিলে।And after they had gone out into the fields, gathered grapes from their vineyards, and trodden them, they held a festival and went into the house of their god; and as they ate and drank, they cursed Abimelech.

28এবদৰ পুতেক গালে ক’লে, “অবীমেলক কোন যে আমি চিখিমৰ লোকসকল তেওঁৰ অধীনত থাকিম? তেওঁ জানো যিৰুব্বালৰ পুতেক নহয়? জবুল জানো তেওঁৰ শাসনাধিপতি নহয়? আপোনালোকে বৰং চিখিমৰ বাপেক হমোৰৰ বংশধৰসকলৰ অধীন হৈ থাকক; কিয় আমি অবীমেলকৰ অধীনত থাকিম?Then Gaal son of Ebed said, “Who is Abimelech, and who is Shechem, that we should serve him? Is he not the son of Jerubbaal, and is not Zebul his officer? You are to serve the men of Hamor, the father of Shechem. Why should we serve Abimelech?

29এই লোকসকল মোৰ বশত থকাহেতেঁন কেনে ভাল হ’লহেতেন! তেতিয়াতো মই অবীমেলকক দুৰ কৰি দিলোঁহেতেন। অবীমেলকক মই ক’ম, ‘আপোনাৰ সৈন্য-সামন্ত সকলোকে মাতি আনি ওলাই আহঁক’।”If only this people were under my authority, I would remove Abimelech; I would say to him, ‘Muster your army and come out!’”

30এবদৰ পুতেক গালৰ সেই কথা নগৰৰ শাসনাধিপতি জবুলৰ কাণত পৰিল আৰু তেওঁ ক্ৰোধত জ্বলি উঠিল।When Zebul the governor of the city heard the words of Gaal son of Ebed, he burned with anger.

31তেতিয়া তেওঁ অবীমেলকৰ গুৰিলৈ বার্তাবাহকৰ দ্বাৰাই কৈ পঠালে, “এবদৰ পুতেক গাল আৰু তেওঁৰ জ্ঞাতি-কুতুম্বসকলে চিখিমলৈ আহি আপোনাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে নগৰৰ লোকসকলক উত্তেজিত কৰি তুলিছে।So he covertly sent messengers to Abimelech to say, “Look, Gaal son of Ebed and his brothers have come to Shechem and are stirring up the city against you.

32সেয়ে, আপুনি আৰু আপোনাৰ সৈন্যসকলে ৰাতিতে উঠি আহি খেতিৰ মাজত লুকাই থাকিব।Now then, tonight you and the people with you are to come and lie in wait in the fields.

33পাছদিনা ৰাতিপুৱা সুৰ্য্য উদয় হোৱা মাত্ৰেই আপোনালোকে উঠি আহি নগৰ আক্ৰমণ কৰিব; যেতিয়া গাল আৰু তেওঁৰ লোকসকল আপোনাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে ওলাই আহিব, তেতিয়া আপোনালোকে যিহকে কৰিব পাৰে তাকে তেওঁলোকলৈ কৰিব।”And in the morning at sunrise, get up and advance against the city. When Gaal and his men come out against you, do to them whatever you are able.”

34যেতিয়া, অবীমেলক আৰু তেওঁৰ সকলো সৈন্যদলে ৰাতিতে উঠিল আৰু চাৰিটা দলত ভাগ হৈ চিখিমৰ ওচৰত লুকাই থকিল।So Abimelech and all his troops set out by night and lay in wait against Shechem in four companies.

35নগৰৰ পৰা ওলাই আহি এবদৰ পুতেক গাল প্রৱেশদ্বাৰৰ ওচৰত থিয় হৈ আছিল। তেনেতে অবীমেলক আৰু তেওঁৰ সৈন্যসকল লুকাই থকা ঠাইৰ পৰা ওলাই আহিল।Now Gaal son of Ebed went out and stood at the entrance of the city gate just as Abimelech and his men came out from their hiding places.

36গালে তেওঁলোকক দেখি জবুলক ক’লে, “চাওঁক, পাহাৰৰ ওপৰৰ পৰা লোকসমূহ নামি আহিছে!” জবুলে উত্তৰত ক’লে, “আপুনি পাহাৰৰ ছাঁবোৰকে মানুহ যেন দেখিছে।”When Gaal saw the people, he said to Zebul, “Look, people are coming down from the mountains!” But Zebul replied, “The shadows of the mountains look like men to you.”

37কিন্তু গালে পুনৰায় ক’লে, “চাওঁক, লোকসকল দেশৰ মধ্যস্থানলৈ নামি আহিছে; আৰু এটা দল গণকসকলৰ ওক গছজোপাৰ বাটেদি আহিছে।”Then Gaal spoke up again, “Look, people are coming down from the center of the land, and one company is coming by way of the Diviners’ Oak.”

38তেতিয়া জবুলে তেওঁক ক’লে, “এতিয়া আপোনাৰ সেই ডাঙৰ ডাঙৰ কথাবোৰ কলৈ গ’ল? আপুনিয়ে কৈছিলে, ‘অবীমেলক কোন যে আমি তেওঁৰ অধীনত থাকিম?’ এই সকল লোককেই আপুনি তুচ্ছ জ্ঞান কৰা নাছিল নে? এতিয়া ওলাই গৈ তেওঁলোকৰে সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰক।”“Where is your gloating now?” Zebul replied. “You said, ‘Who is Abimelech that we should serve him?’ Are these not the people you ridiculed? Go out now and fight them!”

39গালে তেতিয়া চিখিমৰ লোকসকলক পৰিচালনা কৰি বাহিৰলৈ ওলাই গ’ল আৰু অবীমেলকেৰে সৈতে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে।So Gaal went out before the leaders of Shechem and fought against Abimelech,

40অবীমেলকে গালৰ পাছে পাছে খেদি যোৱাত তেওঁ পলাই গ’ল; আৰু তেওঁৰ দলৰ অনেকেই নগৰৰ প্ৰৱেশ দুৱাৰত সোমোৱাৰ আগতেই আঘাত পাই ঢলি পৰিল।but Abimelech pursued him, and Gaal fled before him. And many Shechemites fell wounded all the way to the entrance of the gate.

41অবীমেলক অৰূমাত থাকিল আৰু জবুলে চিখিমৰ পৰা গাল আৰু তেওঁৰ জ্ঞাতি-কুটুম্ব সকলক খেদি বাহিৰ কৰি দিলে।Abimelech stayed in Arumah, and Zebul drove Gaal and his brothers out of Shechem.

42পাছদিনাখন চিখিমৰ লোকসকলে নগৰৰ বাহিৰ ওলাই খেতিলৈ গ’ল আৰু এই বাতৰি অবীমেলকক জনোৱা হ’ল।The next day the people of Shechem went out into the fields, and this was reported to Abimelech.

43অবীমেলকে তেওঁৰ লোকসকলক লৈ তিনিটা দলত ভাগ কৰি খেতিৰ মাজত লুকাই থাকিল; যেতিয়া নগৰৰ পৰা লোকসমুহক বাহিৰ হৈ অহা দেখিলে, তেতিয়া তেওঁ তেওঁলোকক আক্রমণ কৰি বধ কৰিলে।So he took his men, divided them into three companies, and lay in wait in the fields. When he saw the people coming out of the city, he rose up against them and attacked them.

44অবীমেলকে তেওঁৰ দলটোৰে সৈতে গৈ নগৰৰ প্রৱেশ-দুৱাৰৰ ওচৰত থিয় হৈ থাকিল; আন দুটা দলে খেতিত থকা সকলো লোকক আক্ৰমণ কৰি বধ কৰিলে।Then Abimelech and the companies with him rushed forward and took their stand at the entrance of the city gate. The other two companies rushed against all who were in the fields and struck them down.

45সেইদিনা ওৰে দিনটো অবীমেলকে নগৰৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে আৰু সেই ঠাইৰ লোকসমূহক বধ কৰি নগৰ অধিকাৰ কৰিলে। তাৰ পাছত নগৰৰ দেৱাল ধ্বংস কৰি তাৰ ওপৰত নিমখ চতিয়াই দিলে।And all that day Abimelech fought against the city until he had captured it and killed its people. Then he demolished the city and sowed it with salt.

46এই খবৰ শুনি চিখিমৰ দুৰ্গৰ নেতাসকলে এল-বৰীৎ দেৱতাৰ মন্দিৰৰ ভিতৰত সোমালগৈ।On hearing of this, all the leaders in the tower of Shechem entered the inner chamber of the temple of El-berith.

47অবীমেলকে যেতিয়া শুনিলে যে লোকসকলে চিখিমৰ দুৰ্গলৈ গৈ একেলগ হৈছে,And when Abimelech was told that all the leaders in the tower of Shechem were gathered there,

48তেতিয়া তেওঁ নিজৰ লোকসকলক লগত লৈ চলমোন পৰ্ব্বতলৈ উঠি গ’ল। তেওঁ কুঠাৰ ললে আৰু গছৰ পৰা এটা ডাল কাটি নিজৰ কান্ধত তুলি ল’লে। তাৰ পাছত তেওঁৰ লগত থকা লোকসকলক আদেশ দিলে, “তোমালোকে মোক যি যি কৰা দেখিলা, তোমালোকেও শীঘ্রে তেনেকুৱা কৰিবা।”he and all his men went up to Mount Zalmon. Abimelech took his axe in his hand and cut a branch from the trees, which he lifted to his shoulder, saying to his men, “Hurry and do what you have seen me do.”

49সেয়ে সকলোৱে এটা এটা ডাল কাটি লৈ অবীমেলকৰ পাছে পাছে গ’ল। তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোকে সেই ডালবোৰ আনি মন্দিৰৰ মাটিৰ তলত থকা সেই ঘৰটোৰ ওপৰত জাপি দি জুই লগাই দিলে; এইদৰে চিখিমৰ দুৰ্গত থকা সকলো লোক মৰিল; তাত প্রায় এক হাজাৰ পুৰুষ আৰু মহিলা আছিল।So each man also cut his own branch and followed Abimelech. Then they piled the branches against the inner chamber and set it on fire above them, killing everyone in the tower of Shechem, about a thousand men and women.

50তাৰ পাছত অবীমেলক তেবেচলৈ গৈ তাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে ছাউনি পাতি তাক অধিকাৰ কৰি ল’লে।Then Abimelech went to Thebez, encamped against it, and captured it.

51সেই নগৰৰ ভিতৰত এটা দৃঢ় দুর্গ আছিল; সকলো পুৰুষ, মহিলা আৰু নগৰৰ নেতাসকল তালৈ পলাই গৈ দুৱাৰ বন্ধ কৰি নিজকে ভিতৰত আবদ্ধ কৰিলে। তাৰ পাছত তেওঁলোক দুর্গৰ চালৰ ওপৰত উঠিলগৈ।But there was a strong tower inside the city, and all the men, women, and leaders of the city fled there. They locked themselves in and went up to the roof of the tower.

52অবীমেলকে সেই দুর্গৰ ওচৰলৈ আহি তাৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যুদ্ধ কৰিলে; তেওঁ দুর্গত জুই লগাবৰ বাবে দুর্গৰ দুৱাৰৰ ওচৰলৈকে আহিল।When Abimelech came to attack the tower, he approached its entrance to set it on fire.

53কিন্তু তাত এগৰাকী মহিলাই জাঁতৰ ওপৰৰ শিলচটা লৈ অবীমেলকৰ মূৰৰ ওপৰত পেলাই দি তেওঁৰ মূৰৰ খোলা ভাঙিলে।But a woman dropped an upper millstone on Abimelech’s head, crushing his skull.

54তেতিয়া অবীমেলকে ততাতৈয়াকৈ নিজৰ অস্ত্রবহনকাৰী যুবকক মাতি ক’লে, “তোমাৰ তৰোৱাল উলিয়াই মোক বধ কৰা যাতে কোনেও মোৰ বিষয়ে এইদৰে ক’ব নোৱাৰে যে ‘এগৰাকী মহিলাই মোক বধ কৰিলে’।” তেতিয়া সেই যুবকে তেওঁক তৰোৱালেৰে খুচিলে আৰু তেওঁৰ মৃত্যু হ’ল।He quickly called his armor-bearer, saying, “Draw your sword and kill me, lest they say of me, ‘A woman killed him.’” So Abimelech’s armor-bearer ran his sword through him, and he died.

55অবীমেলকৰ মৃত্যু হোৱা দেখি ইস্ৰায়েলীয়াসকলে নিজৰ ঘৰলৈ উলটি গ’ল।And when the Israelites saw that Abimelech was dead, they all went home.

56এই দৰে সত্তৰজন ভায়েকক বধ কৰি অবীমেলকে নিজৰ বাপেকৰ বিৰুদ্ধে যি কু-কৰ্ম্ম কৰিলে, ঈশ্বৰে তাৰ সমুচিত দণ্ড তেওঁক দিলে।In this way God repaid the wickedness that Abimelech had done to his father in murdering his seventy brothers.

57চিখিমৰ লোকসকলে যি সকলো অন্যায় কৰিছিল, তেওঁলোকৰ নিজৰ মূৰৰ ওপৰত ঈশ্বৰে দণ্ড আনিলে; যিৰুব্বালৰ পুতেক যোথমৰ শাও তেওঁলোকৰ ওপৰত পৰিল।And God also brought all the wickedness of the men of Shechem back upon their own heads. So the curse of Jotham son of Jerubbaal came upon them.
