1 PBDK Erang ka ulun sa percaya bahwa Yesus ayelah Kristus lahir teke Allah; dan erang ka ulun sa mengasihi Bapa, aye mengasihi anak sa lahir teke Bapa. BSB BSB: Everyone who believes that Jesus is the Christ has been born of God, and everyone who loves the Father also loves those born of Him.
2 PBDK Baya ina, takam kataru bahwa takam mengasihi anak-anak Allah, yaitu katika takam mengasihi Allah dan menaati perintah-perintan-Nya. BSB BSB: By this we know that we love the children of God: when we love God and keep His commandments.
3 PBDK Ulah inalah kasih Allah, bahwa takam menaati perintah-perintah-nya; dan Perintah-perintah-Nya bakoilah weat. BSB BSB: For this is the love of God, that we keep His commandments. And His commandments are not burdensome,
4 PBDK Ulah, inon pun sa lahir teke Allah mengalahkan Dunia; dan inalah kemenangan sa haot mengalahkankan dunia; Iman takam. BSB BSB: because everyone born of God overcomes the world. And this is the victory that has overcome the world: our faith.
5 PBDK Hiyekah sa mengalahkan dunia amun bakoi aye sa percaya bahwa Yesus ayelah Anak Allah? Welum kekal naan tahuan Yesus. BSB BSB: Who then overcomes the world? Only he who believes that Jesus is the Son of God.
6 PBDK Aye inalah sa hawi nihi ranu dan darah; Yesus Kristus; bakoi hanya nihi air, melainkan nihi ranu dan darah. Rohlah sa bersaksi ulah Roh ayelah kebenaran. BSB BSB: This is the One who came by water and blood, Jesus Christ—not by water alone, but by water and blood. And it is the Spirit who testifies to this, because the Spirit is the truth.
7 PBDK Ulah, naan telu sa bersaksi na surga; BSB BSB: For there are three that testify:
8 PBDK Roh, Ranu, dan Darah; dan katelu ni ayelah isa. BSB BSB: the Spirit, the water, and the blood—and these three are in agreement.
9 PBDK Amun takam narime kesaksian marasia, kesaksian Allah labih kuat. Ulah, kesaksian sa Allah ami ayelah kesaksian tentang Anak-nya. BSB BSB: Even if we accept human testimony, the testimony of God is greater. For this is the testimony that God has given about His Son.
10 PBDK Ulun sa bujur percaya teke Anak Allah memiliki kesaksian itu tahuang diri ni. Ulun sa bakoi percaya nihi Allah haot membuat-Nya jari ulun panamposo ulah ulun itu bakoi percaya nihi kesaksian sa Allah ami tentang Anak-Nya BSB BSB: Whoever believes in the Son of God has this testimony within him; whoever does not believe God has made Him out to be a liar, because he has not believed in the testimony that God has given about His Son.
12 PBDK Erang kaulun sa memiliki sang Anak memiliki welum; erang kaulun sa bakoi memiliki Anak Allah bakoi memiliki welum. Ulun sa lahir teke Allah bakoi ngulah dosa. BSB BSB: Whoever has the Son has life; whoever does not have the Son of God does not have life.
14 PBDK Dan inalah keyakinan sa takam miliki tahadapan Aye, yaitu amun takam minta inon pun sa sesuai anri kehendak-nya, Aye ngarengei takam. BSB BSB: And this is the confidence that we have before Him: If we ask anything according to His will, He hears us.
15 PBDK Dan, amun takam karasa Aye ngarengei takam, inon pun sa takam handak, takam kataru bahwa takam haot naan permohonan sa haot takam minta teke-Nya. BSB BSB: And if we know that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we already possess what we have asked of Him.
16 PBDK Amun naan ulun sa ngini pulaksanai ni ngulah dosa sa bakoi nuju ke kapateian, baiklah ulun iru meminta, dan Allah akan ngami welun gi ulun sa ngulah dosa sa bakoi nuju ke kapateian iru. Tapi, naan isa dosa sa nuju kapateian; aku bakoi ngantuh bahwa aye harus bertanya mat dosa iru. BSB BSB: If anyone sees his brother committing a sin not leading to death, he should ask God, who will give life to those who commit this kind of sin. There is a sin that leads to death; I am not saying he should ask regarding that sin.
17 PBDK Kaluhan kebakoi bujuran ayelah dosa, tatapu naan dosa sa bakoi menuju ke kapateian. BSB BSB: All unrighteousness is sin, yet there is sin that does not lead to death.
18 PBDK Takam kataru bahwa erang ka ulun sa lahir teke Allah bakoi ngulah dosa, tetapi aye sa lahir teke Allah melindunginya dan si jahat bakoi menyentuhnya. BSB BSB: We know that anyone born of God does not keep on sinning; the One who was born of God protects him, and the evil one cannot touch him.
19 PBDK Takam kataru bahwa takam baasal teke Allah, dan kaluhan dunia berada tahuang kuasa si jahat. BSB BSB: We know that we are of God, and that the whole world is under the power of the evil one.
20 PBDK Dan, takam kataru bahwa Anak Allah haot hawi dan haot ngami pengertian gi takam mat takam tau ngarasa Aye sa benar; dan takam naan tahuang Aye sa bujur, tahuang Anak-Nya, Yesus Kristus. Ayelah Allah sa bujur dan welum sa kekal. BSB BSB: And we know that the Son of God has come and has given us understanding, so that we may know Him who is true; and we are in Him who is true—in His Son Jesus Christ. He is the true God and eternal life.
21 PBDK Anak-anak ku, jauhkanlah diri nu teka berhala-berhala. BSB BSB: Little children, keep yourselves from idols.
