4 PBDK Hai hanyu para pezina, bakoi katarukan hanyu bahwa persahabatan baya dunia, baarti permusuhan baya Allah? Ulah iru, hiyepun sa bersahabat baya dunia, aye nampa jari diri ni musuh Allah. BSB BSB: You adulteresses! Do you not know that friendship with the world is hostility toward God? Therefore, whoever chooses to be a friend of the world renders himself an enemy of God.
5 PBDK Inonkah hanyu pikir kitab suci tanpa alasan ngantuh, “Roh sa na tempatkan Allah tahuang diri takam na kakan-Nya nihi cemburu?” BSB BSB: Or do you think the Scripture says without reason that the Spirit He caused to dwell in us yearns with envy?
6 PBDK Namun, Allah ngami anugerah sa lebih lagi. Ulah iru, Kitab suci ngantuh,”Allah menentang ulun sa sombong, tatapi ngami anugerah gi ulun sa rendah atei”. BSB BSB: But He gives us more grace. This is why it says: “God opposes the proud, but gives grace to the humble.”
7 PBDK Ulun iru, Amilah hanyu gi Allah. Lawan lah setan, maka aye akan lari teka hanyu. BSB BSB: Submit yourselves, then, to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you.
8 PBDK Mendekatklah gi Allah, dan Aye akan mendekat gi hanyu. Bersihkanlah tanga nu, hai ulun-ulun sa badosa, dan murnikanlah ateinu, hai ulun-ulun sa mendua atei. BSB BSB: Draw near to God, and He will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners, and purify your hearts, you double-minded.

14 PBDK padahal hanyu bakoi kataru inon sa akan terjadi esok. Inonkah arti welum nu? Welum iru sameh leon uap sa muncul sebentar, dan kemudian lenyap. BSB BSB: You do not even know what will happen tomorrow! What is your life? You are a mist that appears for a little while and then vanishes.
15 PBDK Jari, hanyu seharusnya ngantuh,”Amun Tuhan bakahandak, kami akan welum melakukan ina dan iru” BSB BSB: Instead, you ought to say, “If the Lord is willing, we will live and do this or that.”
16 PBDK tatapi wayah ina, hanyu bangga akan kesombongan nu; kebanggaan sameh hio ayelah jahat. BSB BSB: As it is, you boast in your proud intentions. All such boasting is evil.
17 PBDK Jari, amun erang kaulun kataru bagaimana berbuat maeh, tatapi bakoi melakukan nya, aye badosa. BSB BSB: Anyone, then, who knows the right thing to do, yet fails to do it, is guilty of sin.
