2 ULB এবং সেখানে এমন একটি জাহাজ পেলাম যেটা ফৈনীকিয়ায় যাবে, আমরা সেই জাহাজে করে রওনা হলাম। BSB BSB: Finding a ship crossing over to Phoenicia, we boarded it and set sail.
3 ULB পরে কুপ্র দ্বীপ দেখতে পেলাম ও সেই দ্বীপকে আমাদের বাঁদিকে ফেলে, সুরিয়া দেশে গিয়ে, সোর শহরে নামলাম; কারণ সেখানে জাহাজের মালপত্র নামানোর কথা ছিল। BSB BSB: After sighting Cyprus and passing south of it, we sailed on to Syria and landed at Tyre, where the ship was to unload its cargo.
4 ULB এবং সেখানের শিষ্যদের খোঁজ করে আমরা সেখানে সাত দিন থাকলাম; তারা আত্মার দ্বারা পৌলকে যিরূশালেমে যেতে বারণ করলেন। BSB BSB: We sought out the disciples in Tyre and stayed with them seven days. Through the Spirit they kept telling Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
5 ULB সেই সাত দিন থাকার পর আমরা রওনা দিলাম, তখন তারা সবাই স্ত্রী ও ছেলে মেয়েদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে আমাদের শহরের বাইরে ছাড়তে এলো, সেখানে আমরা হাঁটু গেড়ে প্রার্থনা করে একে অপরকে বিদায় জানালাম। BSB BSB: But when our time there had ended, we set out on our journey. All the disciples, with their wives and children, accompanied us out of the city and knelt down on the beach to pray with us.
6 ULB আমরা জাহাজে উঠলাম, তাঁরা নিজেদের বাড়ি ফিরে গেলেন। BSB BSB: And after we had said our farewells, we went aboard the ship, and they returned home.
7 ULB পরে সোরে জলপথের যাত্রা শেষ করে তলিমায়ি প্রদেশে পৌছোলাম; ও বিশ্বাসী ভাইদের শুভেচ্ছা জানালাম এবং তাদের সঙ্গে এক দিন থাকলাম। BSB BSB: When we had finished our voyage from Tyre, we landed at Ptolemais, where we greeted the brothers and stayed with them for a day.
8 ULB পরের দিন আমরা সেখান থেকে রওনা হয়ে কৈসরিয়ায় পৌছালাম এবং সুসমাচার প্রচারক ফিলিপ, যিনি সেই সাত জনের একজন, তাঁর বাড়িতে আমরা থাকলাম। BSB BSB: Leaving the next day, we went on to Caesarea and stayed at the home of Philip the evangelist, who was one of the Seven.
9 ULB তাঁর চার অবিবাহিতা মেয়ে ছিল, তাঁরা ভাববাণী বলত। BSB BSB: He had four unmarried daughters who prophesied.
10 ULB সেখানে আমরা অনেকদিন ছিলাম এবং যিহূদিয়া থেকে আগাব নাম একজন ভাববাদী উপস্থিত হলেন। BSB BSB: After we had been there several days, a prophet named Agabus came down from Judea.
11 ULB এবং তিনি আমাদের কাছে এসে পৌলের কোমরবন্ধন (বেল্ট) টা নিয়ে, নিজের হাত পা বেঁধে বললেন, পবিত্র আত্মা এই কথা বলছেন, এই কোমরবন্ধনীটি যাঁর, তাঁকে যিহূদীরা যিরূশালেমে এইভাবে বাঁধবে এবং অযিহূদী লোকেদের হাতে সমর্পণ করবে। BSB BSB: Coming over to us, he took Paul’s belt, bound his own feet and hands, and said, “The Holy Spirit says: ‘In this way the Jews of Jerusalem will bind the owner of this belt and hand him over to the Gentiles.’”
12 ULB এই কথা শুনে আমরাও সেখানকার ভাইয়েরা পৌলকে অনুরোধ করলাম, তিনি যেন যিরূশালেমে না যান। BSB BSB: When we heard this, we and the people there pleaded with Paul not to go up to Jerusalem.
13 ULB তখন পৌল বললেন, তোমরা একি করছ? কেঁদে আমার হৃদয়কে কেন চুরমার করছ? কারণ আমি প্রভু যীশুর নামের জন্য যিরূশালেমে কেবল বন্দী হতেই নয়, মরতেও প্রস্তুত আছি। BSB BSB: Then Paul answered, “Why are you weeping and breaking my heart? I am ready not only to be bound, but also to die in Jerusalem for the name of the Lord Jesus.”
14 ULB এইভাবে তিনি আমাদের কথা শুনতে অসম্মত হলেন, তখন আমরা চুপ করলাম এবং বললাম প্রভুরই ইচ্ছা পূর্ণ হোক। BSB BSB: When he would not be dissuaded, we quieted down and said, “The Lord’s will be done.”
15 ULB এর পরে আমরা জিনিসপত্র গুছিয়ে যিরূশালেমে রওনা দিলাম। BSB BSB: After these days, we packed up and went on to Jerusalem.
16 ULB এবং কৈসরিয়া থেকে কয়েক জন শিষ্য আমাদের সঙ্গে এলেন; তাঁরা কুপ্র দ্বীপের ম্নাসোন নাম এক জনকে সঙ্গে আনলেন; ইনি প্রথম শিষ্যদের একজন, তাঁর বাড়িতেই আমাদের অতিথি হওয়ার কথা। BSB BSB: Some of the disciples from Caesarea accompanied us, and they took us to stay at the home of Mnason the Cypriot, an early disciple.
17 ULB যিরূশালেমে উপস্থিত হলে ভাইয়েরা আমাদের আনন্দের সঙ্গে গ্রহণ করলেন, BSB BSB: When we arrived in Jerusalem, the brothers welcomed us joyfully.
18 ULB পরের দিন পৌল আমাদের সঙ্গে যাকোবের বাড়ি গেলেন; সেখানে প্রাচীনেরা সবাই উপস্থিত হলেন। BSB BSB: The next day Paul went in with us to see James, and all the elders were present.
19 ULB পরে তিনি তাদের শুভেচ্ছা জানালেন এবং ঈশ্বর তাঁর পরিচর্য্যার মধ্যে দিয়ে অযিহূদীদের মধ্য যে সব কাজ করেছেন, তার বিস্তারিত বিবরণ দিলেন। BSB BSB: Paul greeted them and recounted one by one the things that God had done among the Gentiles through his ministry.
20 ULB এই কথা শুনে তাঁরা ঈশ্বরের গৌরব করলেন, তাঁকে বললেন, ভাই, তুমি জান, যিহূদীদের মধ্য হাজার হাজার লোক বিশ্বাসী হয়েছে, কিন্তু তারা সবাই ব্যবস্থা পালন করতে বড়ই উদ্যোগী। BSB BSB: When they heard this, they glorified God. Then they said to Paul, “You see, brother, how many thousands of Jews have believed, and all of them are zealous for the law. 21 ULB তারা তোমার বিষয়ে এই কথা শুনেছে যে, তুমি অযিহূদীদের মধ্য প্রবাসী যিহূদীদের মোশির বিধি ব্যবস্থা ত্যাগ করতে শিক্ষা দিচ্ছ, যেন তারা শিশুদের ত্বকছেদ না করে ও সেই মত না চলে। BSB BSB: But they are under the impression that you teach all the Jews who live among the Gentiles to forsake Moses, telling them not to circumcise their children or observe our customs.
22 ULB অতএব এখন কি করা যায়? তারা শুনতে পাবেই যে, তুমি এসেছ। BSB BSB: What then should we do? They will certainly hear that you have come.
23 ULB তাই আমরা তোমায় যা বলি, তাই কর। আমাদের এমন চারজন পুরুষ আছে, যারা শপথ করেছে; BSB BSB: Therefore do what we advise you. There are four men with us who have taken a vow.
24 ULB তুমি তাদের সঙ্গে গিয়ে নিজেকে শুচি কর এবং তাদের মাথা ন্যাড়া করার জন্য খরচ কর। তাহলে সবাই জানবে, তোমার বিষয়ে যে সমস্ত কথা তারা শুনেছে, সেগুলো সত্যি নয়, বরং তুমি নিজেও ব্যবস্থা মেনে সঠিক নিয়মে চলছ। BSB BSB: Take these men, purify yourself along with them, and pay their expenses so they can have their heads shaved. Then everyone will know that there is no truth to these rumors about you, but that you also live in obedience to the law.
25 ULB কিন্তু যে অযিহূদীরা বিশ্বাসী হয়েছে, তাদের বিষয় আমরা বিচার করে লিখেছি যে, প্রতিমার প্রসাদ, রক্ত, গলাটিপে মারা প্রাণীর মাংস এবং ব্যভিচার, এই সমস্ত বিষয় থেকে যেন নিজেদেরকে রক্ষা করে। BSB BSB: As for the Gentile believers, we have written to them our decision that they must abstain from food sacrificed to idols, from blood, from the meat of strangled animals, and from sexual immorality.”
26 ULB পরের দিন পৌল সেই কয়েকজনের সঙ্গে, বিশুদ্ধ হয়ে মন্দিরে প্রবেশ করলেন এবং তাদের বলি উৎসর্গ করা থেকে বিশুদ্ধ হতে কত দিন সময় লাগবে, তা প্রচার করলেন। BSB BSB: So the next day Paul took the men and purified himself along with them. Then he entered the temple to give notice of the date when their purification would be complete and the offering would be made for each of them.
27 ULB আর সেই সাত দিন শেষ হলে এশিয়া দেশের যিহূদীরা মন্দিরে তাঁর দেখা পেয়ে সমস্ত জনতাকে উত্তেজিত করে তুলল এবং তাঁকে ধরে চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগলো, BSB BSB: When the seven days were almost over, some Jews from the province of Asia saw Paul at the temple. They stirred up the whole crowd and seized him,
29 ULB কারণ তারা আগেই শহরের মধ্যে ইফিষীয় এফিমকে পৌলের সঙ্গে দেখেছিল, মনে করল, পৌল তাকে মন্দিরের মধ্যে নিয়ে এসেছেন। BSB BSB: For they had previously seen Trophimus the Ephesian with him in the city, and they assumed that Paul had brought him into the temple.
30 ULB তখন শহরের লোকেরা উত্তেজিত হয়ে উঠল, লোকেরা দৌড়ে এলো এবং পৌলকে ধরে উপাসনা ঘরের বাইরে টেনে নিয়ে গেল, আর সঙ্গে সঙ্গে উপাসনা ঘরের দ্বারগুলো বন্ধ করে দিল। BSB BSB: The whole city was stirred up, and the people rushed together. They seized Paul and dragged him out of the temple, and at once the gates were shut.
31 ULB এইভাবে তারা তাঁকে হত্যা করার চেষ্টা করল, তখন সৈন্যদলের সহশ্রপতির কাছে এই খবর এলো যে, সমস্ত যিরূশালেমে গন্ডগোল আরম্ভ হয়েছে। BSB BSB: While they were trying to kill him, the commander of the Roman regiment received a report that all Jerusalem was in turmoil.
32 ULB অমনি তিনি সেনাদের ও শতপতিদের সঙ্গে নিয়ে তাদের কাছে দৌড়ে গেলেন; তারফলে লোকেরা সহশ্রপতিকে ও সেনাদেরকে দেখতে পেয়ে পৌলকে মারা বন্ধ করল। BSB BSB: Immediately he took some soldiers and centurions and ran down to the crowd. When the people saw the commander and the soldiers, they stopped beating Paul.
33 ULB তখন প্রধান সেনাপতি এসে তাঁকে ধরল, ও দুটি শিকল দিয়ে তাঁকে বাধার আদেশ দিলেন এবং জিজ্ঞাসা করলেন, এ কে, আর একি করেছে? BSB BSB: The commander came up and arrested Paul, ordering that he be bound with two chains. Then he asked who he was and what he had done.
34 ULB ফলে জনতার মধ্য থেকে বিভিন্ন লোক চিৎকার করে বিভিন্ন প্রকার কথা বলতে লাগল; আর তিনি কিছুই বুঝতে পারলেন না, তাই তিনি তাঁকে দুর্গে নিয়ে যেতে আদেশ দিলেন। BSB BSB: Some in the crowd were shouting one thing, and some another. And since the commander could not get at the truth because of the uproar, he ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks.
35 ULB তখন সিঁড়িতে ওপরে উপস্থিত হলে জনতার ক্ষিপ্ততার জন্য সেনারা পৌলকে বয়ে নিয়ে যেতে লাগল; BSB BSB: When Paul reached the steps, he had to be carried by the soldiers because of the violence of the mob.
36 ULB কারণ লোকের ভিড় পেছন পেছন যাচ্ছিল, আর চিৎকার করে বলতে লাগল ওকে দূর কর। BSB BSB: For the crowd that followed him kept shouting, “Away with him!”
37 ULB তারা পৌলকে নিয়ে দুর্গের ভিতরে ঢুকতে যাবে, পৌল প্রধান সেনাপতিকে বললেন, আপনার কাছে কি কিছু বলতে পারি? তিনি বললেন তুমি কি গ্রীক ভাষায় কথা বল? BSB BSB: As they were about to take Paul into the barracks, he asked the commander, “May I say something to you?” “Do you speak Greek?” he replied.
38 ULB তবে তুমি কি সেই মিশরীয় নও, যে এর আগে বিদ্রোহ করেছিল, ও গুপ্ত হত্যাকারীদের চার হাজার জনকে সঙ্গে করে মরূপ্রান্তে গিয়েছিল? BSB BSB: “Aren’t you the Egyptian who incited a rebellion some time ago and led four thousand members of the Assassins into the wilderness?”
39 ULB তখন পৌল বললেন, আমি যিহূদী তার্ষ শহরের কিলিকিয়া প্রদেশের লোক, আমি একজন প্রসিদ্ধ শহরের নাগরিক; আপনাকে অনুরোধ করছি, লোকেদের সঙ্গে কথা বলার অনুমতি আমাকে দিন। BSB BSB: But Paul answered, “I am a Jew from Tarsus in Cilicia, a citizen of no ordinary city. Now I beg you to allow me to speak to the people.”
40 ULB আর তিনি অনুমতি দিলে পৌল সিঁড়ির ওপর দাঁড়িয়ে সবাইকে হাত দিয়ে ইশারা করলেন; তখন সবাই শান্ত হল, তিনি তাদের ইব্রীয় ভাষায় বললেন। BSB BSB: Having received permission, Paul stood on the steps and motioned to the crowd. A great hush came over the crowd, and he addressed them in Hebrew:
