I even obtained letters from them to their brothers in Damascus, and I was on my way to apprehend these people and bring them to Jerusalem to be punished.
6 ULB আর যেতে যেতে দম্মেশক শহরের কাছাকাছি এলে, দুপুর বেলায় হঠাৎ আকাশ থেকে তীব্র আলো আমার চারিদিকে চমকিয়ে উঠল। BSB BSB: About noon as I was approaching Damascus, suddenly a bright light from heaven flashed around me.
7 ULB তাতে আমি মাটিতে পড়ে গেলাম, ও শুনতে পেলাম, কেউ যেন আমাকে বলছে, শৌল, শৌল, কেন আমাকে অত্যাচার করছ? BSB BSB: I fell to the ground and heard a voice say to me, ‘Saul, Saul, why do you persecute Me?’

10 ULB পরে আমি বললাম, প্রভু, আমি কি করব? প্রভু আমাকে বললেন, উঠে দম্মেশকে যাও, তোমাকে যা যা করতে হবে বলে ঠিক করা আছে, তা সেখানেই তোমাকে বলা হবে। BSB BSB: Then I asked, ‘What should I do, Lord?’ ‘Get up and go into Damascus,’ He told me. ‘There you will be told all that you have been appointed to do.’
11 ULB আর আমি সেই আলোর তেজে অন্ধ হয়ে গিয়ে কিছু দেখতে পেলাম না এবং আমার সঙ্গীরা আমার হাত ধরে দম্মেশকে নিয়ে গেল। BSB BSB: Because the brilliance of the light had blinded me, my companions led me by the hand into Damascus.

14 ULB এবং তিনি আমাকে বললেন, আমাদের পূর্বপুরুষদের ঈশ্বর তোমাকে বেছে নিয়েছেন, যেন তুমি তাঁর ইচ্ছা জানতে পার এবং সেই ধার্মিককে দেখতে ও তাঁর মুখের কথা শুনতে পাও; BSB BSB: Then he said, ‘The God of our fathers has appointed you to know His will and to see the Righteous One and to hear His voice.
15 ULB কারণ তুমি যা কিছু দেখেছ ও শুনেছ, সেই বিষয়ে সমস্ত মানুষের কাছে তাঁর সাক্ষী হবে। BSB BSB: You will be His witness to everyone of what you have seen and heard.
16 ULB তাই এখন কেন দেরী করছ? উঠে, তাঁর নামে বিশ্বাস করে বাপ্তিষ্ম নাও, ও তোমার পাপ ধুয়ে ফেল। BSB BSB: And now what are you waiting for? Get up, be baptized, and wash your sins away, calling on His name.’
17 ULB তারপরে আমি যিরূশালেমে ফিরে এসে এক দিন মন্দিরে প্রার্থনা করছিলাম, এমন সময় অভিভূত (অবচেতন মন) হয়ে তাঁকে দেখলাম, BSB BSB: Later, when I had returned to Jerusalem and was praying at the temple, I fell into a trance
18 ULB তিনি আমাকে বললেন, তাড়াতাড়ি কর, এখুনি যিরূশালেম থেকে বের হও, কারণ এই লোকেরা আমার বিষয়ে তোমার সাক্ষ্য গ্রহণ করবে না। BSB BSB: and saw the Lord saying to me, ‘Hurry! Leave Jerusalem quickly, because the people here will not accept your testimony about Me.’

21 ULB তিনি আমাকে বললেন, তুমি যাও, আমি তোমাকে দূরে অযিহূদীদের কাছে পাঠাব। BSB BSB: Then He said to me, ‘Go! I will send you far away to the Gentiles.’”
22 ULB লোকেরা এই পর্যন্ত তাঁর কথা শুনল, পরে চিৎকার করে বলল, একে পৃথিবী থেকে দূর করে দাও, ওকে বাঁচিয়ে রাখা উচিত হয়নি। BSB BSB: The crowd listened to Paul until he made this statement. Then they lifted up their voices and shouted, “Rid the earth of him! He is not fit to live!”
23 ULB তখন তারা চিৎকার করে তাদের পোশাক খুলে, ধূলো ওড়াতে লাগল; BSB BSB: As they were shouting and throwing off their cloaks and tossing dust into the air,
24 ULB তখন সেনা প্রধান পৌলকে দুর্গের ভিতরে নিয়ে যেতে আদেশ দিলেন এবং বললেন চাবুক মেরে এর পরীক্ষা করতে হবে, যেন তিনি জানতে পারেন যে, কেন লোকেরা তাঁকে দোষ দিয়ে চিৎকার করছে। BSB BSB: the commander ordered that Paul be brought into the barracks. He directed that Paul be flogged and interrogated to determine the reason for this outcry against him.
25 ULB পরে যখন তারা দড়ি দিয়ে তাঁকে বাঁধলো, তখন যে শতপতি কাছে দাঁড়িয়ে ছিলেন, পৌল তাঁকে বললেন, যে ব্যক্তি রোমীয় এবং বিচারে কোনো দোষ পাওয়া যায়নি, তাকে চাবুক মারা কি আপনাদের উচিত? BSB BSB: But as they stretched him out to strap him down, Paul said to the centurion standing there, “Is it lawful for you to flog a Roman citizen without a trial?”
26 ULB এই কথা শুনে শতপতি সেনা প্রধানের কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে বললেন, আপনি কি করতে যাচ্ছেন? এই লোকটি তো রোমীয়। BSB BSB: On hearing this, the centurion went and reported it to the commander. “What are you going to do?” he said. “This man is a Roman citizen.”
27 ULB তখন সেনা প্রধান কাছে গিয়ে তাঁকে বললেন, বল দেখি, তুমি কি রোমীয়ের নাগরিক? তিনি বললেন, হ্যাঁ। BSB BSB: The commander went to Paul and asked, “Tell me, are you a Roman citizen?” “Yes,” he answered.
28 ULB প্রধান সেনাপতি বললেন, এই নাগরিকত্ব আমি অনেক টাকা দিয়ে কিনেছি। পৌল বললেন, কিন্তু আমি জন্ম থেকেই রোমীয়। BSB BSB: “I paid a high price for my citizenship,” said the commander. “But I was born a citizen,” Paul replied.
29 ULB তখন যারা তাঁকে প্রশ্ন করার জন্য তৈরী হচ্ছিলেন, তারা তখনি তাঁর কাছ থেকে চলে গেল; আর তিনি যে রোমীয় এই কথা জানতে পেরে, ও তাঁকে বেঁধে ছিল বলে, প্রধান সেনাপতিও ভয় পেলেন। BSB BSB: At once those who were about to interrogate Paul stepped back, and the commander himself was alarmed when he realized that he had put a Roman citizen in chains.
30 ULB কিন্তু পরের দিন, যিহূদীরা তাঁর উপর কেন দোষ দিচ্ছে, সত্য জানার জন্য প্রধান সেনাপতি তাঁকে ছেড়ে দিলেন, ও প্রধান যাজকদের ও মহাসভার লোকেদের একসঙ্গে আসতে আদেশ দিলেন এবং পৌলকে নামিয়ে তাঁদের কাছে উপস্থিত করলেন। BSB BSB: The next day the commander, wanting to learn the real reason Paul was accused by the Jews, released him and ordered the chief priests and the whole Sanhedrin to assemble. Then he brought Paul down and had him stand before them.
