2 ULB আর প্রধান যাজকেরা ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষকেরা কীভাবে তাঁকে হত্যা করতে পারে, তারই চেষ্টা করছিল, কারণ তারা লোকদের ভয় করত। BSB BSB: and the chief priests and scribes were looking for a way to put Jesus to death, for they feared the people.
3 ULB আর শয়তান ঈষ্করিয়োতীয় নামে যিহূদার ভিতরে প্রবেশ করল, এ সেই বারো জনের একজন। BSB BSB: Then Satan entered Judas Iscariot, who was one of the Twelve.
4 ULB তখন সে গিয়ে প্রধান যাজকদের ও সেনাপতিদের সাথে কথাবার্তা বলল, কীভাবে তাঁকে তাদের হাতে সমর্পণ করতে পারবে। BSB BSB: And Judas went to discuss with the chief priests and temple officers how he might betray Jesus to them.
5 ULB তখন তারা আনন্দিত হল ও তাকে টাকা দিতে প্রতিজ্ঞা করল। তাতে সে রাজি হল এবং BSB BSB: They were delighted and agreed to give him money.
6 ULB জনতার নজরের বাইরে তাঁকে ধরিয়ে দেবার সুযোগ খুঁজতে লাগল। BSB BSB: Judas consented, and began to look for an opportunity to betray Jesus to them in the absence of a crowd.
7 ULB পরে খামিরহীন রুটির দিন, অর্থাৎ যে দিন নিস্তারপর্ব্বের মেষশাবক বলি দিতে হত, সেই দিন আসল। BSB BSB: Then came the day of Unleavened Bread on which the Passover lamb was to be sacrificed.
8 ULB তখন তিনি পিতর ও যোহনকে পাঠিয়ে দিয়ে বললেন, তোমরা গিয়ে নিস্তারপর্ব্বের ভোজ প্রস্তুত কর, আমরা ভোজন করব। BSB BSB: Jesus sent Peter and John, saying, “Go and make preparations for us to eat the Passover.”
9 ULB তারা বললেন, কোথায় প্রস্তুত করব? BSB BSB: “Where do You want us to prepare it?” they asked.
10 ULB আপনার ইচ্ছা কি? তিনি তাদেরকে বললেন, দেখ, তোমরা সবাই শহরে ঢুকলে এমন একজন লোকের দেখা পাবে, যে একটা কলসিতে করে জল নিয়ে যাচ্ছে; তোমরা তার পেছনে পেছনে যেও; সে যে বাড়িতে ঢুকবে। BSB BSB: He answered, “When you enter the city, a man carrying a jug of water will meet you. Follow him to the house he enters,
11 ULB আর সেই বাড়ির মালিককে বোলো, গুরু বলেছেন, যেখানে আমি আমার শিষ্যদের সঙ্গে নিস্তারপর্ব্বের ভোজ খেতে পারি, আমার সেই অতিথিশালা কোথায়? BSB BSB: and say to the owner of that house, ‘The Teacher asks: Where is the guest room, where I may eat the Passover with My disciples?’
12 ULB তাতে সে তোমাদের সাজানো একটি ওপরের বড় ঘর দেখিয়ে দেবে; BSB BSB: And he will show you a large upper room, already furnished. Make preparations there.”
13 ULB সেই জায়গায় প্রস্তুত কর। তারা গিয়ে, তিনি যেরকম বলেছিলেন, সেরকম দেখতে পেলেন; পরে তাঁরা নিস্তারপর্ব্বের ভোজ তৈরী করলেন। BSB BSB: So they went and found it just as Jesus had told them. And they prepared the Passover.
14 ULB পরে সময় হলে তিনি ও প্রেরিতরা একসঙ্গে ভোজে অংশগ্রহণ করলেন। BSB BSB: When the hour had come, Jesus reclined at the table with His apostles.
16 ULB কারণ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যে পর্যন্ত ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যে এ পূর্ণ না হয়, সেই পর্যন্ত আমি এ আর ভোজন করব না। BSB BSB: For I tell you that I will not eat it again until it is fulfilled in the kingdom of God.”
17 ULB পরে তিনি পানপাত্র নিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে বললেন, এটা নাও এবং নিজেদের মধ্যে ভাগ কর; BSB BSB: After taking the cup, He gave thanks and said, “Take this and divide it among yourselves.
18 ULB কারণ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, যে পর্যন্ত ঈশ্বরের রাজ্যের আগমন না হয়, এখন থেকে সেই পর্যন্ত আমি আঙ্গুর ফলের রস পান করব না। BSB BSB: For I tell you that I will not drink of the fruit of the vine from now on until the kingdom of God comes.”
19 ULB পরে তিনি রুটী নিয়ে ধন্যবাদ দিয়ে ভাঙলেন এবং তাদেরকে দিলেন, আর বললেন," এটা আমার শরীর যেটা তোমাদের দেওয়া হয়েছে।" এটি আমার স্মরণে কর।" BSB BSB: And He took the bread, gave thanks and broke it, and gave it to them, saying, “This is My body, given for you; do this in remembrance of Me.”

21 ULB কিন্তু দেখ, যে ব্যক্তি আমাকে সমর্পণ করছে, তার হাত আমার সঙ্গে টেবিলের উপরে রয়েছে। BSB BSB: Look! The hand of My betrayer is with Mine on the table.
22 ULB কারণ যেমন নির্ধারিত হয়েছে সেই অনুসারেই মানবপুত্র যাচ্ছেন, কিন্তু ধিক সেই ব্যক্তিকে, যার মাধ্যমে তিনি সমর্পিত হন। BSB BSB: Indeed, the Son of Man will go as it has been determined, but woe to that man who betrays Him.”
23 ULB তখন্ তারা একে অপরকে জিজ্ঞাসা করতে লাগলেন, তবে আমাদের মধ্যে এ কাজ কে করবে? BSB BSB: Then they began to question among themselves which of them was going to do this.
24 ULB আর তাদের মধ্যে এই নিয়ে তর্ক শুরু হল যে, তাদের মধ্যে কে শ্রেষ্ঠ বলে গণ্য। BSB BSB: A dispute also arose among the disciples as to which of them should be considered the greatest.
25 ULB কিন্তু তিনি তাদের বললেন, অইহূদিদের রাজারাই তাদের উপরে প্রভুত্ব করে এবং তাদের উপর যার কর্তৃত্ব থাকে তাকে সম্মানীয় শাসক বলে। BSB BSB: So Jesus declared, “The kings of the Gentiles lord it over them, and those in authority over them call themselves benefactors.
26 ULB কিন্তু তোমরা সেই রকম হয়ো না; বরং তোমাদের মধ্যে যে শ্রেষ্ঠ, সে ছোটোর মত হোক; এবং যে প্রধান, সে দাসের মত হোক। BSB BSB: But you shall not be like them. Instead, the greatest among you should be like the youngest, and the one who leads like the one who serves.
27 ULB কারণ, কে শ্রেষ্ঠ? যে ভোজনে বসে, না পরিবেশন করে? যে ভোজনে বসে সেই কি না? কিন্তু আমি তোমাদের মধ্যে দাসের মত আছি। BSB BSB: For who is greater, the one who reclines at the table or the one who serves? Is it not the one who reclines? But I am among you as one who serves.
28 ULB তোমরাই আমার সব পরীক্ষায় তো আমার সঙ্গে রয়েছ; BSB BSB: You are the ones who have stood by Me in My trials.
29 ULB আর আমার পিতা যেমন আমার জন্য নির্ধারণ করেছেন, আমিও তেমনি তোমাদের জন্য এক রাজ্য নির্ধারণ করছি, BSB BSB: And I bestow on you a kingdom, just as My Father has bestowed one on Me,
30 ULB যেন তোমরা আমার রাজ্যে আমার সঙ্গে ভোজন পান কর; আর তোমরা সিংহাসনে বসে ইস্রায়েলের বারো বংশের বিচার করবে। BSB BSB: so that you may eat and drink at My table in My kingdom and sit on thrones, judging the twelve tribes of Israel.
31 ULB শিমোন, শিমোন, দেখ, গমের মত চেলে বের করার জন্য শয়তান তোমাদের নিজের বলে চেয়েছে; BSB BSB: Simon, Simon, Satan has asked to sift all of you like wheat.
32 ULB কিন্তু আমি তোমার জন্য প্রার্থনা করেছি, যেন তোমাদের বিশ্বাসে ভাঙ্গন না ধরে; আর তুমিও একবার ফিরলে পর তোমার ভাইদের সুস্থির করও। BSB BSB: But I have prayed for you, Simon, that your faith will not fail. And when you have turned back, strengthen your brothers.”
33 ULB তিনি তাকে বললেন, প্রভু, আপনার সঙ্গে আমি কারাগারে যেতে এবং মরতেও রাজি আছি। BSB BSB: “Lord,” said Peter, “I am ready to go with You even to prison and to death.”
34 ULB তিনি বললেন, পিতর আমি তোমাকে বলছি, যে পর্যন্ত তুমি আমাকে চেন না বলে তিনবার অস্বীকার করবে, সেই পর্যন্ত আজ মোরগ ডাকবে না। BSB BSB: But Jesus replied, “I tell you, Peter, the rooster will not crow today until you have denied three times that you know Me.”
37 ULB কারণ আমি তোমাদের বলছি, এই যে কথা শাস্ত্রে লেখা আছে, "আর তিনি অধার্মিকদের সঙ্গে গণ্য হলেন" তা আমাতে পূর্ণ হতে হবে; কারণ আমার বিষয়ে যা, তা পূর্ণ হচ্ছে। BSB BSB: For I tell you that this Scripture must be fulfilled in Me: ‘And He was numbered with the transgressors.’ For what is written about Me is reaching its fulfillment.”
38 ULB তখন তারা বললেন, প্রভু, দেখুন, দুটি তলোয়ার আছে। তিনি তাদের বললেন, এই যথেষ্ট। BSB BSB: So they said, “Look, Lord, here are two swords.” “That is enough,” He answered.
39 ULB পরে তিনি বাইরে এসে নিজের নিয়ম অনুসারে জৈতুন পর্বতে গেলেন এবং শিষ্যরাও তার পিছন পিছন গেলেন। BSB BSB: Jesus went out as usual to the Mount of Olives, and the disciples followed Him.
40 ULB সেই জায়গায় আসলে পর তিনি তাদের বললেন, তোমরা প্রার্থনা কর, যেন প্রলোভনে না পড়। BSB BSB: When He came to the place, He told them, “Pray that you will not enter into temptation.”
41 ULB পরে তিনি তাদের থেকে কিছু দূরে গিয়ে হাঁটু গেড়ে বসে প্রার্থনা করতে লাগলেন, বললেন, BSB BSB: And He withdrew about a stone’s throw beyond them, where He knelt down and prayed,
43 ULB তখন স্বর্গ থেকে এক দূত দেখা দিয়ে তাঁকে সবল করলেন। BSB BSB: Then an angel from heaven appeared to Him and strengthened Him.
44 ULB পরে তিনি করুন দুঃখে মগ্ন হয়ে আরো একমনে প্রার্থনা করলেন; আর তার ঘাম যেন রক্তের আকারে বড় বড় ফোঁটা হয়ে জমিতে পড়তে লাগল। BSB BSB: And in His anguish, He prayed more earnestly, and His sweat became like drops of blood falling to the ground.
45 ULB পরে তিনি প্রার্থনা করে উঠলে পর শিষ্যদের কাছে এসে দেখলেন, তারা দুঃখের জন্য ঘুমিয়ে পড়েছে, BSB BSB: When Jesus rose from prayer and returned to the disciples, He found them asleep, exhausted from sorrow.
46 ULB আর তাদের বললেন, কেন ঘুমাচ্ছ? ওঠ, প্রার্থনা কর, যেন প্রলোভনে না পড়। BSB BSB: “Why are you sleeping?” He asked. “Get up and pray so that you will not enter into temptation.”
47 ULB তিনি কথা বলছেন, এমন সময় দেখ, অনেক লোক এবং যার নাম যিহূদা সেই বারো জনের মধ্যে একজন সে তাদের আগে আগে আসছে; সে যীশুকে চুম্বন করবার জন্য তাঁর কাছে আসল। BSB BSB: While He was still speaking, a crowd arrived, led by the man called Judas, one of the Twelve. He approached Jesus to kiss Him.
48 ULB কিন্তু যীশু তাকে বললেন, যিহূদা, চুম্বনের মাধ্যমে কি মানবপুত্রকে সমর্পণ করছ? BSB BSB: But Jesus asked him, “Judas, are you betraying the Son of Man with a kiss?”
49 ULB তখন কি কি ঘটবে, তা দেখে যারা তাঁর কাছে ছিলেন, তারা বললেন, প্রভু আমরা কি তলোয়ারের আঘাত করব? BSB BSB: Those around Jesus saw what was about to happen and said, “Lord, should we strike with our swords?”
50 ULB আর তাদের মধ্যে এক ব্যক্তি মহাযাজকের দাসকে আঘাত করে তার ডান কান কেটে ফেললেন। BSB BSB: And one of them struck the servant of the high priest, cutting off his right ear.
51 ULB কিন্তু যীশু উত্তরে বললেন, এই পর্যন্ত শান্ত হও। পরে তিনি তার কান স্পর্শ করে তাকে সুস্থ করলেন। BSB BSB: But Jesus answered, “No more of this!” And He touched the man’s ear and healed him.
52 ULB আর তার বিরুদ্ধে যে প্রধান যাজকেরা, ধর্মগৃহের সেনাপতি ও প্রাচীনেরা এসেছিল, যীশু তাদের বললেন, লোকে "যেমন দস্যুর বিরুদ্ধে যায়, তেমনি খড়গ ও লাঠি নিয়ে কি তোমরা আসলে? BSB BSB: Then Jesus said to the chief priests, temple officers, and elders who had come for Him, “Have you come out with swords and clubs as you would against an outlaw?
53 ULB আমি যখন প্রতিদিন ধর্মগৃহে তোমাদের সঙ্গে ছিলাম, তখন আমায় উপরে হাত রাখেনি; কিন্তু এই তোমাদের সময় এবং অন্ধকারের কর্তৃত্ব।" BSB BSB: Every day I was with you in the temple courts, and you did not lay a hand on Me. But this hour belongs to you and to the power of darkness.”
54 ULB পরে তারা তাঁকে ধরে নিয়ে গেল এবং মহাযাজকের বাড়িতে আনলো; আর পিতর দূরে থেকে পিছন পিছন চললেন। BSB BSB: Then they seized Jesus, led Him away, and took Him into the house of the high priest. And Peter followed at a distance.
55 ULB পরে লোকেরা উঠোনের মধ্যে আগুন জ্বালিয়ে একসঙ্গে বসলে পিতর তাদের মধ্যে বসলেন। BSB BSB: When those present had kindled a fire in the middle of the courtyard and sat down together, Peter sat down among them.
56 ULB তিনি সেই আলোর কাছে বসলে এক দাসী তাকে দেখে তার দিকে এক নজরে চেয়ে বলল, এ ব্যক্তি ওর সঙ্গে ছিল। BSB BSB: A servant girl saw him seated in the firelight and looked intently at him. “This man also was with Him,” she said.
57 ULB কিন্তু তিনি অস্বীকার করে বললেন, না, নারী! আমি ওকে চিনি না। BSB BSB: But Peter denied it. “Woman, I do not know Him,” he said.
58 ULB একটু পরে আর একজন তাকে দেখে বলল, তুমিও তাদের একজন। পিতর বললেন, না, আমি নই। BSB BSB: A short time later, someone else saw him and said, “You also are one of them.” But Peter said, “Man, I am not.”
59 ULB ঘন্টাখানেক পরে আর একজন জোর দিয়ে বলল, সত্যি, এ ব্যক্তিও তাঁর সঙ্গে ছিল, কারণ এ গালীলীয় লোক। BSB BSB: About an hour later, another man insisted, “Certainly this man was with Him, for he too is a Galilean.”
60 ULB তখন পিতর বললেন, দেখ, তুমি কি বলছ, আমি বুঝতে পারছি না। তিনি কথা বলছিলেন, আর অমনি মোরগ ডেকে উঠল। BSB BSB: “Man, I do not know what you are talking about,” Peter replied. And immediately, while he was still speaking, the rooster crowed.
61 ULB আর প্রভু মুখ ফিরিয়ে পিতরের দিকে নজর দিলেন; তাতে প্রভু এই যে কথা বলেছিলেন, "আজ মোরগ ডাকবার আগে তুমি তিনবার আমাকে অস্বীকার করবে।" তা পিতরের মনে পড়ল। BSB BSB: And the Lord turned and looked at Peter. Then Peter remembered the word that the Lord had spoken to him: “Before the rooster crows today, you will deny Me three times.”
62 ULB আর তিনি বাইরে গিয়ে কান্নায় ভেঙে পড়লেন। BSB BSB: And he went outside and wept bitterly.
63 ULB আর যে লোকেরা যীশুকে ধরেছিল, তারা তাঁকে ঠাট্টা ও মারধর করতে শুরু করল। BSB BSB: The men who were holding Jesus began to mock Him and beat Him.
64 ULB আর তাঁর চোখ ঢেকে জিজ্ঞাসা করল, ভাববাণী বল দেখি, "কে তোকে মারলো?" BSB BSB: They blindfolded Him and kept demanding, “Prophesy! Who hit You?”
65 ULB আর তারা ঈশ্বরনিন্দা করে তাঁর বিরুদ্ধে আরো অনেক কথা বলতে লাগল। BSB BSB: And they said many other blasphemous things against Him.
66 ULB যখন দিন হল, তখন লোকদের প্রাচীন নেতারা, প্রধান যাজকেরা ও ব্যবস্থার শিক্ষক একসঙ্গে মিলিত হল এবং নিজেদের সভার মধ্যে তাঁকে নিয়ে এসে বলল। BSB BSB: At daybreak the council of the elders of the people, both the chief priests and scribes, met together. They led Jesus into their Sanhedrin and said,
67 ULB তুমি যদি সেই খ্রীষ্ট হও, তবে আমাদের বল, তিনি তাদের বললেন, "যদি তোমাদের বলি, তোমরা বিশ্বাস করবে না; BSB BSB: “If You are the Christ, tell us.” Jesus answered, “If I tell you, you will not believe.
68 ULB আর যদি তোমাদের জিজ্ঞাসা করি, কোনো উত্তর দেবে না;" BSB BSB: And if I ask you a question, you will not answer.
69 ULB কিন্তু এখন থেকে মানবপুত্র ঈশ্বরের শক্তির ডান পাশে বসে থাকবেন। BSB BSB: But from now on the Son of Man will be seated at the right hand of the power of God.”
70 ULB তখন সবাই বলল, তবে তুমি কি ঈশ্বরের পুত্র? তিনি তাদের বললেন, তোমরাই তো বলছ যে, "আমিই সেই।" BSB BSB: So they all asked, “Are You then the Son of God?” He replied, “You say that I am.”
71 ULB তখন তারা বলল," আর সাক্ষ্যে আমাদের কি প্রয়োজন? আমরা নিজেরাই তো তাঁর মুখে শুনলাম।" BSB BSB: “Why do we need any more testimony?” they declared. “We have heard it for ourselves from His own lips.”
