Our wives and children will become plunder. Would it not be better for us to go back to Egypt?”

9 ULB কিন্তু তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে যেও না ও সে দেশের লোকেদেরকে ভয় কোরো না। কারণ তাদের খাবারের মতই সহজে গ্রাস করব। তাদের আশ্রয় তাদের উপর থেকে সরিয়ে নেওয়া হল, কারণ সদাপ্রভু আমাদের সঙ্গে সঙ্গে আছেন। তাদেরকে ভয় কোরো না।” BSB BSB: Only do not rebel against the LORD, and do not be afraid of the people of the land, for they will be like bread for us. Then the glory of the LORD appeared to all the Israelites at the Tent of Meeting.

BSB BSB: And the LORD said to Moses, “How long will this people treat Me with contempt? How long will they refuse to believe in Me, despite all the signs I have performed among them?

They have already heard that You, O LORD, are in the midst of this people, that You, O LORD, have been seen face to face, that Your cloud stands over them, and that You go before them in a pillar of cloud by day and a pillar of fire by night.

18 ULB ‘সদাপ্রভু ক্রোধে ধীর ও দয়াতে মহান এবং অধর্ম্মের ও অপরাধের ক্ষমাকারী, তবুও অবশ্যই পাপের শাস্তি দেন, তিনি তৃতীয় ও চতুর্থ পুরুষ পর্যন্ত সন্তানদের উপরে পূর্বপুরুষের অপরাধের শাস্তি দেন’। BSB BSB: ‘The LORD is slow to anger and abounding in loving devotion, forgiving iniquity and transgression. Yet He will by no means leave the guilty unpunished; He will visit the iniquity of the fathers upon their children to the third and fourth generation.’

20 ULB তখন সদাপ্রভু বললেন, “তোমার বাক্য অনুসারে আমি ক্ষমা করলাম। BSB BSB: “I have pardoned them as you requested,” the LORD replied.

33 ULB তোমাদের সন্তানরা চল্লিশ বছর এই মরুভূমিতে পশু চরাবে এবং এই মরুভূমিতে তোমাদের মৃতদেহের সংখ্যা যে পর্যন্ত সম্পূর্ণ না হয়, সে পর্যন্ত তারা তোমাদের ব্যভিচারের ফল ভোগ করবে। BSB BSB: Your children will be shepherds in the wilderness for forty years, and they will suffer for your unfaithfulness until the last of your bodies lies in the wilderness.
34 ULB তোমরা যে চল্লিশ দিন দেশ পরীক্ষা করেছ, সেই দিনের সংখ্যা অনুসারে চল্লিশ বছর, এক এক দিনের জন্য এক এক বছর, তোমরা তোমাদের অপরাধ বহন করবে, আর আমার শত্রুতা কেমন, তা তোমরা জানবে’। BSB BSB: In keeping with the forty days you spied out the land, you shall bear your guilt forty years—a year for each day—and you will experience My alienation.
35 ULB আমি, সদাপ্রভু, বলেছি, আমার বিপরীতে চক্রান্তকারী এই সমস্ত মন্দ মণ্ডলীর প্রতি আমি এইসব অবশ্যই করব; এই মরুভূমিতে তারা শেষ হবে, এখানেই তারা মারা যাবে।” BSB BSB: I, the LORD, have spoken, and I will surely do these things to this entire wicked congregation, which has conspired against Me. They will meet their end in the wilderness, and there they will die.”
36 ULB আর দেশ পরীক্ষা করতে মোশি যে লোকেদেরকে পাঠিয়েছিলেন, যারা ফিরে এসে ঐ দেশের বদনাম করে তার বিরুদ্ধে সমস্ত মণ্ডলীকে দিয়ে অভিযোগ করিয়েছিল, BSB BSB: So the men Moses had sent to spy out the land, who had returned and made the whole congregation grumble against him by bringing out a bad report about the land—
37 ULB দেশের বদনামকারী সেই ব্যক্তিরা সদাপ্রভুর সামনে মহামারীতে মারা গেল। BSB BSB: those men who had brought out the bad report about the land—were struck down by a plague before the LORD.
38 ULB যে ব্যক্তিরা পরীক্ষা করতে গিয়েছিল, তাদের মধ্যে শুধু নূনের ছেলে যিহোশূয় ও যিফূন্নির ছেলে কালেব জীবিত থাকলেন। BSB BSB: Of those men who had gone to spy out the land, only Joshua son of Nun and Caleb son of Jephunneh remained alive.
39 ULB যখন মোশি সমস্ত ইস্রায়েল সন্তানকে সেই কথা বললেন, লোকেরা খুব শোক করল। BSB BSB: And when Moses relayed these words to all the Israelites, the people mourned bitterly.

42 ULB তোমরা যেও না, কারণ সদাপ্রভু তোমাদের মধ্যে নেই, তাই গেলে তোমরা শত্রুদের কাছে পরাজিত হবে। BSB BSB: Do not go up, lest you be struck down by your enemies, because the LORD is not among you.

Because you have turned away from the LORD, He will not be with you.”
44 ULB কিন্তু তারা দুঃসাহসী হয়ে পর্বতের চূড়ায় উঠতে লাগল; কিন্তু সদাপ্রভুর সাক্ষ্যসিন্দুক ও মোশি শিবির ত্যাগ করলেন না। BSB BSB: But they dared to go up to the ridge of the hill country, though neither Moses nor the ark of the covenant of the LORD moved from the camp.
45 ULB তখন ঐ পর্বতবাসী অমালেকীয়েরা ও কনানীয়েরা নেমে এসে তাদেরকে আঘাত করল ও হর্মা পর্যন্ত তাদেরকে তাড়িয়ে দিল। BSB BSB: Then the Amalekites and Canaanites who lived in that part of the hill country came down, attacked them, and routed them all the way to Hormah.
