3 ULB তখন মোশি লোকেদেরকে বললেন, “তোমাদের কিছু লোক যুদ্ধের জন্য সজ্জিত হোক, সদাপ্রভুর জন্য মিদিয়নকে প্রতিশোধ দিতে মিদিয়নের বিরুদ্ধে যাত্রা করুক। BSB BSB: So Moses told the people, “Arm some of your men for war, that they may go against the Midianites and execute the LORD’s vengeance on them.
4 ULB ইস্রায়েলের প্রত্যেক বংশ এক হাজার করে লোক যুদ্ধে পাঠাবে।” BSB BSB: Send into battle a thousand men from each tribe of Israel.”
5 ULB তাতে ইস্রায়েলের হাজার হাজারের মধ্যে এক একটি বংশ থেকে এক এক হাজার মনোনীত হলে যুদ্ধের জন্য বারো হাজার লোক সজ্জিত হল। BSB BSB: So a thousand men were recruited from each tribe of Israel—twelve thousand armed for war.
6 ULB এইভাবে মোশি এক একটি বংশের এক এক হাজার লোককে এবং ইলিয়াসর যাজকের ছেলে পীনহসকে যুদ্ধে পাঠালেন এবং পবিত্র স্থানের পাত্রগুলি ও রণবাদ্যের তূরীগুলি তাঁর অধিকারে ছিল। BSB BSB: And Moses sent the thousand from each tribe into battle, along with Phinehas son of Eleazar the priest, who took with him the vessels of the sanctuary and the trumpets for signaling.
7 ULB সদাপ্রভু যেভাবে মোশিকে আদেশ দিয়েছিলেন, তারা মিদিয়নের সঙ্গে যুদ্ধ করল। তারা সমস্ত পুরুষকে হত্যা করল। BSB BSB: Then they waged war against Midian, as the LORD had commanded Moses, and they killed every male.
8 ULB তারা মিদিয়নের রাজাদেরকে তাদের অন্য নিহত লোকদের সঙ্গে হত্যা করল; ইবি, রেকম, সূর, হূর ও রেবা, মিদিয়নের এই পাঁচ রাজাকে হত্যা করল; বিয়োরের ছেলে বিলিয়মকেও তরোয়াল দিয়ে হত্যা করল। BSB BSB: Among the slain were Evi, Rekem, Zur, Hur, and Reba—the five kings of Midian. They also killed Balaam son of Beor with the sword.
9 ULB ইস্রায়েল সন্তানরা মিদিয়নের সমস্ত স্ত্রীলোক ও বালক বালিকাদেরকে বন্দি করে নিয়ে গেল এবং তাদের সমস্ত পশু, সমস্ত ভেড়ার পাল ও সমস্ত সম্পত্তি লুঠ করল। BSB BSB: The Israelites captured the Midianite women and their children, and they plundered all their herds, flocks, and goods.
10 ULB তাদের সমস্ত বসবাসকারী শহর ও সমস্ত শিবির পুড়িয়ে দিল। BSB BSB: Then they burned all the cities where the Midianites had lived, as well as all their encampments,
11 ULB তারা লুঠে নেওয়া দ্রব্য এবং মানুষ কিংবা পশু, সমস্ত ধৃত জীব সঙ্গে নিয়ে গেল। BSB BSB: and carried away all the plunder and spoils, both people and animals.
12 ULB তারা যিরীহোর কাছাকাছি যর্দনের তীরে অবস্থিত মোয়াবের উপভূমিতে মোশির, ইলিয়াসর যাজকের ও ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সমস্ত মণ্ডলীর কাছে বন্দিদেরকে ও যুদ্ধে ধৃত জীবদেরকে এবং লুঠিত দ্রব্যগুলি শিবিরে নিয়ে গেল। BSB BSB: They brought the captives, spoils, and plunder to Moses, to Eleazar the priest, and to the congregation of Israel at the camp on the plains of Moab, by the Jordan across from Jericho.
13 ULB মোশি, ইলিয়াসর যাজক ও মণ্ডলীর সমস্ত শাসনকর্তা তাদের সঙ্গে সাক্ষাৎ করতে শিবিরের বাইরে গেলেন। BSB BSB: And Moses, Eleazar the priest, and all the leaders of the congregation went to meet them outside the camp.
14 ULB কিন্তু যুদ্ধ থেকে ফিরে আসা সেনাপতিদের, অর্থাৎ সহস্রপতিদের ও শতপতিদের উপরে মোশি প্রচন্ড রেগে গেলেন। BSB BSB: But Moses was angry with the officers of the army—the commanders of thousands and commanders of hundreds—who were returning from the battle.
15 ULB মোশি তাদেরকে বললেন, “তোমরা কি সমস্ত স্ত্রীলোককে জীবিত রেখেছ? BSB BSB: “Have you spared all the women?” he asked them.
16 ULB দেখ, বিলিয়মের পরামর্শে তারাই পিয়োর দেবতার বিষয়ে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদেরকে সদাপ্রভুর বিরুদ্ধে পাপ করিয়েছিল, তার জন্যই সদাপ্রভুর মণ্ডলীতে মহামারী হয়েছিল। BSB BSB: “Look, these women caused the sons of Israel, through the counsel of Balaam, to turn unfaithfully against the LORD at Peor, so that the plague struck the congregation of the LORD.
17 ULB অতএব তোমরা এখন বালক বালিকাদের মধ্যে সমস্ত বালককে হত্যা কর এবং পুরুষের সঙ্গে শোয়া সমস্ত স্ত্রীলোককেও হত্যা কর। BSB BSB: So now, kill all the boys, as well as every woman who has had relations with a man,
18 ULB কিন্তু যে বালিকারা কোনো পুরুষের সঙ্গে শোয় নি, তাদেরকে নিজেদের জন্য জীবিত রাখ। BSB BSB: but spare for yourselves every girl who has never had relations with a man.
19 ULB তোমরা সাত দিন শিবিরের বাইরে শিবির করে থাক; তোমরা যত লোক মানুষ হত্যা করেছ ও মৃত লোককে স্পর্শ করেছ, সবাই তৃতীয় দিনে ও সপ্তম দিনে নিজেদেরকে ও নিজেদের বন্দিদেরকে শুচি কর; BSB BSB: All of you who have killed a person or touched the dead are to remain outside the camp for seven days. On the third day and the seventh day you are to purify both yourselves and your captives.
20 ULB আর সমস্ত পোশাক, চামড়ার তৈরী সমস্ত জিনিস, ছাগলের লোমের তৈরী সমস্ত জিনিস ও কাঠের তৈরী সমস্ত জিনিসের জন্য নিজেদেরকে শুচি কর।” BSB BSB: And purify every garment and leather good, everything made of goat’s hair, and every article of wood.”
21 ULB আর যারা যুদ্ধে গিয়েছিল, ইলিয়াসর যাজক সেই যোদ্ধাদেরকে বললেন, “মোশিকে দেওয়া সদাপ্রভুর ব্যবস্থার নিয়মগুলি এই: BSB BSB: Then Eleazar the priest said to the soldiers who had gone into battle, “This is the statute of the law which the LORD has commanded Moses:
22 ULB শুধু সোনা, রুপো, পিতল, লোহা, টিন ও সীসা BSB BSB: Only the gold, silver, bronze, iron, tin, and lead—
23 ULB এবং যে সমস্ত দ্রব্য আগুনে নষ্ট হয় না, সেইসব আগুনের মধ্যে দিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে, তাতে তা শুচি হবে। তারপর তা বিশুদ্ধ জলে পাপমুক্ত করতে হবে; কিন্তু যে যে জিনিস আগুনে নষ্ট হয়, তা তোমরা জলের মধ্যে দিয়ে নিয়ে যাবে। BSB BSB: everything that can withstand the fire—must be put through the fire, and it will be clean. But it must still be purified with the water of purification. And everything that cannot withstand the fire must pass through the water.
24 ULB আর সপ্তম দিনে তোমরা নিজেদের পোশাক ধোবে; তাতে শুচি হবে; পরে শিবিরে প্রবেশ করবে।” BSB BSB: On the seventh day you are to wash your clothes, and you will be clean. After that you may enter the camp.”
25 ULB পরে সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে বললেন, BSB BSB: The LORD said to Moses,
26 ULB “তুমি ও ইলিয়াসর যাজক এবং মণ্ডলীর পূর্বপুরুষদের গোষ্ঠীর নেতা যুদ্ধে অপহৃত জীবদের, অর্থাৎ বন্দি মানুষদের ও পশুদের সংখ্যা গণনা কর। BSB BSB: “You and Eleazar the priest and the family heads of the congregation are to take a count of what was captured, both of man and beast.
27 ULB আর যুদ্ধে অপহৃত সেই জীবদেরকে দুই অংশ করে, যে যোদ্ধারা যুদ্ধে গিয়েছিল, তাদের ও সমস্ত মণ্ডলীর মধ্যে ভাগ কর। BSB BSB: Then divide the captives between the troops who went out to battle and the rest of the congregation.
28 ULB তখন যুদ্ধে গমনকারী যোদ্ধাদের কাছ থেকে সদাপ্রভুর জন্য কর নাও; পাঁচশো জীবের মধ্যে প্রতিটি মানুষ, গোরু, গাধা ও ভেড়া। BSB BSB: Set aside a tribute for the LORD from what belongs to the soldiers who went into battle: one out of every five hundred, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, or sheep.
29 ULB তাদের অর্দ্ধেক অংশ থেকে নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে উপস্থিত করা উপহার হিসাবে ইলিয়াসর যাজককেও দাও। BSB BSB: Take it from their half and give it to Eleazar the priest as an offering to the LORD.
30 ULB তুমি ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের অর্দ্ধেক অংশের মধ্যে মানুষ, গোরু, গাধা, ভেড়া ও ছাগল প্রভৃতি সমস্ত পশুর মধ্যে থেকে পঞ্চাশটি জীবের মধ্যে থেকে একটি জীব নাও এবং সদাপ্রভুর সমাগম তাঁবুর রক্ষাকারী লেবীয়দেরকে দাও।” BSB BSB: From the Israelites’ half, take one out of every fifty, whether persons, cattle, donkeys, sheep, or other animals, and give them to the Levites who keep charge of the tabernacle of the LORD.”
31 ULB মোশিকে সদাপ্রভু যেমন আদেশ করলেন, মোশি ও ইলিয়াসর যাজক সেইরকম করলেন। BSB BSB: So Moses and Eleazar the priest did as the LORD had commanded Moses,
32 ULB যোদ্ধাদের মাধ্যমে লুঠ করা জিনিসগুলি ছাড়া ঐ অপহৃত জীবগুলি ছয় লক্ষ পঁচাত্তর হাজার ভেড়া, BSB BSB: and this plunder remained from the spoils the soldiers had taken: 675,000 sheep,
33 ULB বাহাত্তর হাজার গোরু, BSB BSB: 72,000 cattle,
34 ULB একষট্টি হাজার গাধা, BSB BSB: 61,000 donkeys,
35 ULB আর বত্রিশ হাজার স্ত্রীলোক, অর্থাৎ যারা কখনো কোনো পুরুষের সঙ্গে শোয় নি। BSB BSB: and 32,000 women who had not slept with a man.
36 ULB তাতে যারা যুদ্ধে গিয়েছিল, তাদের প্রাপ্য অর্দ্ধেক অংশের সংখ্যা হল তিন লক্ষ সাঁইত্রিশ হাজার পাঁচশো ভেড়া; BSB BSB: This was the half portion for those who had gone to war: 337,500 sheep,
37 ULB সেই ভেড়া থেকে সদাপ্রভুর অংশ হল ছয়শো পঁচাত্তরটি ভেড়া। BSB BSB: including a tribute to the LORD of 675,
38 ULB ষাঁড় ছিল ছত্রিশ হাজার, তাদের মধ্যে বাহাত্তরটি হল সদাপ্রভুর কর। BSB BSB: 36,000 cattle, including a tribute to the LORD of 72,
39 ULB গাধা ছিল ত্রিশ হাজার পাঁচশো, তাদের মধ্যে সদাপ্রভুর কর হল একষট্টিটি। BSB BSB: 30,500 donkeys, including a tribute to the LORD of 61,
40 ULB স্ত্রীলোক ছিল ষোল হাজার, তাদের মধ্যে সদাপ্রভুর কর হল বত্রিশ জন। BSB BSB: and 16,000 people, including a tribute to the LORD of 32.
41 ULB মোশি সেই কর সদাপ্রভুর কাছে উপহার হিসাবে উপস্থিত করলেন। সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে যেমন আদেশ দিলেন, সেই অনুসারে তিনি এগুলি ইলিয়াসর যাজককে দিলেন। BSB BSB: Moses gave the tribute to Eleazar the priest as an offering for the LORD, as the LORD had commanded Moses.
42 ULB মোশি যে অর্দ্ধেক অংশ যোদ্ধাদের কাছ থেকে নিয়ে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদেরকে দিয়েছিলেন, BSB BSB: From the Israelites’ half, which Moses had set apart from the men who had gone to war,
43 ULB মণ্ডলীর সেই অর্দ্ধেক অংশতে তিন লক্ষ সাঁইত্রিশ হাজার পাঁচশো ভেড়া, BSB BSB: this half belonged to the congregation: 337,500 sheep,
44 ULB ছত্রিশ হাজার ষাঁড়, BSB BSB: 36,000 cattle,
45 ULB ত্রিশ হাজার পাঁচশো গাধা BSB BSB: 30,500 donkeys,
46 ULB ও ষোল হাজার মানুষ ছিল। BSB BSB: and 16,000 people.
47 ULB মোশি ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের সেই অর্দ্ধেক অংশ থেকে মানুষের ও পশুর মধ্যে পঞ্চাশটি জীবের মধ্যে থেকে একটি করে জীব নিয়ে সদাপ্রভুর সমাগম তাঁবুর রক্ষাকারী লেবীয়দেরকে দিলেন, যেমন সদাপ্রভু মোশিকে আদেশ করলেন। BSB BSB: From the Israelites’ half, Moses took one out of every fifty persons and animals and gave them to the Levites who kept charge of the tabernacle of the LORD, as the LORD had commanded him.
48 ULB সৈন্য সামন্তের উপরে কর্তৃত্বকারী সহস্রপতিরা ও শতপতিরা মোশির কাছে আসলেন; BSB BSB: Then the officers who were over the units of the army—the commanders of thousands and of hundreds—approached Moses
49 ULB তাঁরা মোশিকে বললেন, “আপনার এই দাসেরা আমাদের অধীনে থাকা যোদ্ধাদের সংখ্যা গণনা করেছে, আমাদের মধ্যে একজনও কমে নি। BSB BSB: and said, “Your servants have counted the soldiers under our command, and not one of us is missing.
50 ULB আমরা সবাই সোনার জিনিস, তাগা, বালা, আংটি, কানবালা ও হার, এই যা কিছু জিনিস পেয়েছি, তা থেকে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে আমাদের প্রাণের জন্য প্রায়শ্চিত্ত করতে সদাপ্রভুর উদ্দেশ্যে উপহার এনেছি।” BSB BSB: So we have brought to the LORD an offering of the gold articles each man acquired—armlets, bracelets, rings, earrings, and necklaces—to make atonement for ourselves before the LORD.”
51 ULB মোশি ও ইলিয়াসর যাজক তাঁদের থেকে সেই সোনা, কারিগরী সমস্ত জিনিস নিলেন। BSB BSB: So Moses and Eleazar the priest received from them all the articles made out of gold.
52 ULB উত্সর্গের সমস্ত সোনা যা তাঁরা সদাপ্রভুকে দিয়েছিলেন-সহস্রপতিদের ও শতপতিদের উপহার ষোল হাজার সাতশো পঞ্চাশ শেকল পরিমাপের হল। BSB BSB: All the gold that the commanders of thousands and of hundreds presented as an offering to the LORD weighed 16,750 shekels.
53 ULB যোদ্ধারা প্রত্যেকে নিজেদের জন্য লুঠ করা দ্রব্য নিয়েছিল। BSB BSB: Each of the soldiers had taken plunder for himself.
54 ULB মোশি ও ইলিয়াসর যাজক সহস্রপতিদের ও শতপতিদের কাছ থেকে সেই সোনা গ্রহণ করলেন এবং সদাপ্রভুর সামনে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের স্মরণের চিহ্ন হিসাবে তা সমাগম তাঁবুতে আনলেন। BSB BSB: And Moses and Eleazar the priest received the gold from the commanders of thousands and of hundreds and brought it into the Tent of Meeting as a memorial for the Israelites before the LORD.
