1 ULB রূবেণ সন্তানদের ও গাদ সন্তানদের অনেক পশুধন ছিল; তারা যাসের দেশ ও গিলিয়দ দেশ পর্যবেক্ষণ করল, আর দেখ, সে স্থান পশুপালনের স্থান। BSB BSB: Now the Reubenites and Gadites, who had very large herds and flocks, surveyed the lands of Jazer and Gilead, and they saw that the region was suitable for livestock.
2 ULB পরে গাদ সন্তানরা ও রূবেণ সন্তানরা এসে মোশিকে, ইলিয়াসর যাজককে ও মণ্ডলীর শাসনকর্তাদেরকে বলল, BSB BSB: So the Gadites and Reubenites came to Moses, Eleazar the priest, and the leaders of the congregation, and said,
3 ULB “অটারোৎ, দীবোন, যাসের নিম্রা, হিষ্বোন, ইলিয়ালী, সেবাম, নবো ও বিয়োন, BSB BSB: “Ataroth, Dibon, Jazer, Nimrah, Heshbon, Elealeh, Sebam, Nebo, and Beon,
4 ULB এই যে দেশকে সদাপ্রভু ইস্রায়েল মণ্ডলীর সামনে আঘাত করেছেন, এটা পশুপালনের উপযুক্ত দেশ, আর আপনার এই দাসেদের পশু আছে।” BSB BSB: which the LORD conquered before the congregation of Israel, are suitable for livestock—and your servants have livestock.”

6 ULB তখন মোশি গাদ সন্তানদেরকে ও রূবেণ সন্তানদেরকে বললেন, “তোমাদের ভাইয়েরা যুদ্ধ করতে যাবে, আর তোমরা কি এই স্থানে বসে থাকবে? BSB BSB: But Moses asked the Gadites and Reubenites, “Shall your brothers go to war while you sit here?
7 ULB সদাপ্রভুর দেওয়া দেশ পার হয়ে যেতে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের মন কেন নিরাশ করছ? BSB BSB: Why are you discouraging the Israelites from crossing into the land that the LORD has given them?
8 ULB তোমাদের বাবারা, যখন আমি দেশ দেখতে কাদেশ বর্ণেয় থেকে তাদেরকে পাঠিয়েছিলাম, তখন তাই করেছিল; BSB BSB: This is what your fathers did when I sent them from Kadesh-barnea to inspect the land.
9 ULB তারা ইষ্কোলের উপত্যকা পর্যন্ত গমন করে দেশ দেখে সদাপ্রভুর দেওয়া দেশে যেতে ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের মন নিরাশ করেছিল। BSB BSB: For when your fathers went up to the Valley of Eshcol and saw the land, they discouraged the Israelites from entering the land that the LORD had given them.
10 ULB সেই দিন সদাপ্রভু প্রচন্ড রেগে গিয়ে শপথ করে বলেছিলেন, BSB BSB: So the anger of the LORD was kindled that day, and He swore an oath, saying,
11 ULB ‘আমি অব্রাহামকে, ইসহাককে ও যাকোবকে যে দেশ দিতে দিব্যি করেছি, মিশর থেকে আসা পুরুষদের মধ্যে কুড়ি বছর ও তার থেকে বয়সী কেউই সেই দেশ দেখতে পাবে না; কারণ তারা সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে আমাকে মেনে চলে নি; BSB BSB: ‘Because they did not follow Me wholeheartedly, not one of the men twenty years of age or older who came out of Egypt will see the land that I swore to give Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob—
12 ULB শুধু কনিসীয় যিফুন্নির ছেলে কালেব ও নূনের ছেলে যিহোশূয় তা দেখবে, কারণ তারাই সম্পূর্ণ ভাবে সদাপ্রভুর অনুগত হয়েছে’। BSB BSB: not one except Caleb son of Jephunneh the Kenizzite and Joshua son of Nun—because they did follow the LORD wholeheartedly.’
13 ULB তখন ইস্রায়েলের প্রতি সদাপ্রভুর রাগ জ্বলে উঠলো, আর তিনি চল্লিশ বছর পর্যন্ত, সদাপ্রভুর দৃষ্টিতে খারাপ কাজ করা সমস্ত লোকের শেষ না হওয়া পর্যন্ত, তাদেরকে মরুভূমিতে ভ্রমণ করালেন। BSB BSB: The anger of the LORD burned against Israel, and He made them wander in the wilderness forty years, until the whole generation who had done evil in His sight was gone.
14 ULB আর দেখ, ইস্রায়েলের বিরুদ্ধে সদাপ্রভুর ভয়ানক রাগ আরও বেড়ে যাওয়ার জন্য, পাপী লোকেদের বংশ যে তোমরা, তোমরা তোমাদের বাবার জায়গায় উঠেছ। BSB BSB: Now behold, you, a brood of sinners, have risen up in place of your fathers to further stoke the burning anger of the LORD against Israel.

17 ULB আমরা যতদিন ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদেরকে নিজের তৈরী না করি, ততদিন সজ্জিত হয়ে তাদের আগে আগে গমন করব; শুধু আমাদের বালকবালিকারা দেশে বসবাসীদের ভয়ে সুরক্ষিত শহরে বাস করবে। BSB BSB: But we will arm ourselves and be ready to go ahead of the Israelites until we have brought them into their place. Meanwhile, our little ones will remain in the fortified cities for protection from the inhabitants of the land.
18 ULB ইস্রায়েল সন্তানরা প্রত্যেকে যতক্ষণ নিজেদের অধিকার না পায়, ততক্ষণ আমরা নিজেদের পরিবারের কাছে ফিরে আসব না। BSB BSB: We will not return to our homes until every Israelite has taken possession of his inheritance.
19 ULB কিন্তু আমরা যর্দনের অন্যপারে তাদের সঙ্গে অধিকার নেব না, কারণ যর্দনের এই পূর্বপারে আমরা অধিকার পেয়েছি।” BSB BSB: Yet we will not have an inheritance with them across the Jordan and beyond, because our inheritance has come to us on the east side of the Jordan.”

And this land will belong to you as a possession before the LORD.
23 ULB কিন্তু যদি তেমন না কর, তবে দেখ, তোমরা সদাপ্রভুর কাছে পাপ করলে এবং নিশ্চয় জেনো, তোমাদের পাপ তোমাদেরকে ধরবে। BSB BSB: But if you do not do this, you will certainly sin against the LORD—and be assured that your sin will find you out.
24 ULB তোমরা নিজেদের বালকবালিকাদের জন্য শহর ও ভেড়াদের জন্য বাথান তৈরী কর এবং নিজেদের কথামত কাজ কর।” BSB BSB: Build cities for your little ones and folds for your flocks, but do what you have promised.”
25 ULB তখন গাদ সন্তানরা ও রূবেণ সন্তানরা মোশিকে বলল, “আমাদের প্রভু যে আদেশ করলেন, আপনার দাস আমরা তাই করব। BSB BSB: The Gadites and Reubenites said to Moses, “Your servants will do just as our lord commands.
26 ULB আমাদের বালকবালিকারা, আমাদের স্ত্রীলোকেরা, আমাদের পালগুলি ও আমাদের সমস্ত পশুধন এখানে গিলিয়দের শহরগুলিতে থাকবে। BSB BSB: Our children, our wives, our livestock, and all our animals will remain here in the cities of Gilead.
27 ULB আর আমাদের প্রভুর বাক্য অনুসারে আপনার এই দাসেরা, সজ্জিত প্রত্যেক জন যুদ্ধ করতে সদাপ্রভুকে পার হয়ে যাবে।” BSB BSB: But your servants are equipped for war, and every man will cross over to the battle before the LORD, just as our lord says.”
28 ULB তখন মোশি তাদের বিষয়ে ইলিয়াসর যাজককে, নূনের ছেলে যিহোশূয়কে ও ইস্রায়েল সন্তানদের বংশগুলির পূর্বপুরুষদের নেতাকে আদেশ করলেন। BSB BSB: So Moses gave orders about them to Eleazar the priest, to Joshua son of Nun, and to the family leaders of the tribes of Israel.
29 ULB মোশি তাদেরকে বললেন, “গাদ সন্তানরা ও রূবেণ সন্তানরা, যুদ্ধের জন্য সজ্জিত প্রত্যেক জন যদি তোমাদের সঙ্গে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে যর্দন পার হয়, তবে তোমাদের সামনে দেশ বশীভূত হওয়ার পর তোমরা অধিকারের জন্য তাদেরকে গিলিয়দ দেশ দেবে। BSB BSB: And Moses said to them, “If the Gadites and Reubenites cross the Jordan with you, with every man armed for battle before the LORD, and the land is subdued before you, then you are to give them the land of Gilead as a possession.
30 ULB কিন্তু যদি তারা সজ্জিত হয়ে তোমাদের সঙ্গে পার না হয়, তবে তারা তোমাদের মধ্যে কনান দেশের অধিকার পাবে।” BSB BSB: But if they do not arm themselves and go across with you, then they must accept their possession among you in the land of Canaan.”
31 ULB পরে গাদ সন্তানরা ও রূবেণ সন্তানরা উত্তর দিল, “সদাপ্রভু আপনার এই দাসদেরকে যা বলেছেন, আমরা তাই করব। BSB BSB: The Gadites and Reubenites replied, “As the LORD has spoken to your servants, so we will do.
32 ULB আমরা সজ্জিত হয়ে সদাপ্রভুর সামনে পার হয়ে কনান দেশে যাব; আর যর্দনের পূর্বপারে আমাদের অধিকার নির্দিষ্ট হয়ে রইল।” BSB BSB: We will cross over into the land of Canaan armed before the LORD, that we may have our inheritance on this side of the Jordan.”
33 ULB পরে মোশি তাদেরকে, অর্থাৎ গাদ সন্তানদেরকে, রূবেণ সন্তানদেরকে ও যোষেফের ছেলে মনঃশির অর্দ্ধেক বংশকে ইমোরীয়দের রাজা সীহোনের রাজ্য ও বাশনের রাজা ওগের রাজ্য, সেই দেশ, পরিসীমা সমেত সেখানকার শহরগুলি অর্থাৎ দেশের চারদিকের শহরগুলি দিলেন। BSB BSB: So Moses gave to the Gadites, to the Reubenites, and to the half-tribe of Manasseh son of Joseph the kingdom of Sihon king of the Amorites and the kingdom of Og king of Bashan—the land including its cities and the territory surrounding them.
34 ULB গাদ সন্তানরা দীবোন, অটারোৎ, অরোয়ের, BSB BSB: And the Gadites built up Dibon, Ataroth, Aroer,
35 ULB অটরোত শোফন, যাসের, যগবিহ, BSB BSB: Atroth-shophan, Jazer, Jogbehah,
36 ULB বৈৎ-নিম্রা ও বৈৎ-হারণ, এইসব দেওয়ালে ঘেরা শহর ও মেষবাথান তৈরী করল। BSB BSB: Beth-nimrah, and Beth-haran as fortified cities, and they built folds for their flocks.
37 ULB রূবেন সন্তানরা হিষবোন, ইলিয়ালী ও কিরিয়াথয়িম BSB BSB: The Reubenites built up Heshbon, Elealeh, Kiriathaim,
38 ULB নবো ও বাল্-মিয়োন (তাদের নাম পরে পরিবর্তন হয়েছে) এবং সিবমা এইসব শহর তৈরী করে অন্য নাম রাখল। BSB BSB: as well as Nebo and Baal-meon (whose names were changed), and Sibmah. And they renamed the cities they rebuilt.
39 ULB মনঃশির ছেলে মাখীরের সন্তানরা গিলিয়দে গিয়ে তা দখল করল এবং সেই স্থানে বসবাসকারী ইমোরীয়দেরকে অধিকারচ্যুত করল। BSB BSB: The descendants of Machir son of Manasseh went to Gilead, captured it, and drove out the Amorites who were there.
40 ULB তখন মোশি মনঃশির ছেলে মাখীরকে গিলিয়দ দিলেন এবং সে সেখানে বাস করল। BSB BSB: So Moses gave Gilead to the clan of Machir son of Manasseh, and they settled there.
41 ULB মনঃশির সন্তান যায়ীর গিয়ে সেখানকার গ্রামগুলি দখল করল এবং তাদের নাম হব্বোৎ-যায়ীর যায়ীরের গ্রামগুলি রাখল। BSB BSB: Jair, a descendant of Manasseh, went and captured their villages and called them Havvoth-jair.
42 ULB নোবহ গিয়ে কনাৎ ও তার গ্রামগুলি দখল করল এবং নিজের নাম অনুসারে তার নাম নোবহ রাখল। BSB BSB: And Nobah went and captured Kenath and its villages and called it Nobah, after his own name.
