1. 1BSWEአይሁድን ታፎልሲ አሪ ቶይ፥ የሱሳ ባቦ ኣምን ካፋራሳው ዎይቻልኮ ኮ ካሌረ እባዶትኮክ ምን ቶስ ካኮታባረ ጎራታ፥ እባዶ ኡሱ ጉት ማራሙርሳ ግረ።BSBBSB: One Sabbath, Jesus went to eat in the home of a leading Pharisee, and those in attendance were watching Him closely.
2. 2BSWEኤሴና ማርኮክ ዱዱቤል ካአቦሳማረ እባዶት ኮ ኡሱ ሆረ ግረ።BSBBSB: Right there before Him was a man with dropsy.
3. 3BSWEየሱሳና፥ ሴራ ኦአጋልስሳራኔና ፋራሳውልነ፥ “አይሁድን ታፎልሲ አሪ ꬉኩባሌሳል ፋይሳኖ ዶትሳራ ሙ ላኮዶትሳሮያ?” አመ እሶ ሆሳተ።BSBBSB: So Jesus asked the experts in the law and the Pharisees, “Is it lawful to heal on the Sabbath or not?”
4. 4BSWEእሶና አደን ጫልኢ አመን። ኡሱና እባዶት አበ ፋይሰረ ጋልሰ።BSBBSB: But they remained silent. Then Jesus took hold of the man, healed him, and sent him on his way.
5. 5BSWEአደና፥ “እስንኮ ኮ ኤረኬሳ ጎርቱን አርኬሳ ታፎልሲ አሪ ጉምቢ ኦሮድ ጎኢየ ሳም ካቤሳኖን አዮያ?” አመ።BSBBSB: And He asked them, “Which of you whose son or ox falls into a pit on the Sabbath day will not immediately pull him out?”
6. 6BSWEእሶና ሂካኑን ቶና ታአም አባብራን ዋተን።BSBBSB: And they were unable to answer these questions.
7. 7BSWEየሱሳ አሞን ኦኡማመራን ታካባጃ ባንኤ ኦአሳባታራን ዴጉረ፥ ሃ አማ ሂካ ማሱሳ እሶን ሰገ።BSBBSB: When Jesus noticed how the guests chose the places of honor, He told them a parable:
8. 8BSWE“እባዶት ኮ ምን ካሃስኖ አሞን ኩ ጎኡመ፥ ታካባጃ ባንኤ አሮሀማጽተ፥ ካባጃይ ኩኮ ካንጂንክ እባዶት ካኡማመሮ ጎሌ፥BSBBSB: “When you are invited to a wedding banquet, do not sit in the place of honor, in case someone more distinguished than you has been invited.
9. 9BSWEእስን ላማ ዱባና ካኡማተረ ኤመይረ፥ ባንኤ ‘ሂካ እባዶትን ጋፋርና’ አምናራ፤ አትና ሙልደ ሁስ ታአንተ ባንኤ ዳግ ሀማጽናታ።BSBBSB: Then the host who invited both of you will come and tell you, ‘Give this man your seat.’ And in humiliation, you will have to take the last place.
10. 10BSWEአየሱን ጎአመን አት ካኮኡማንተ ጎራታ ሁስ ታአንተ ባንኤ ድያደ ሀማጺ፥ ኩ ካኡማተራ ኤመይረ፥ ‘አን ካጌላታሮኬ፥ ኮይ ህታኒ ጦቂ አም ሀማጽ አምናራ፥’ አትና ሀሱ ጎራታ ራቶ አሞን ካሀማጼሮ እባዶ ዱባ ሆረ ካባጃምናታ።BSBBSB: But when you are invited, go and sit in the last place, so that your host will come and tell you, ‘Friend, move up to a better place.’ Then you will be honored in front of everyone at the table with you.
11. 11BSWEኣላንቲና እስኦቴሳ ካጦቂ ጦቂኢሳታራ ዱባ ሁስ አምናራ። እስኦቴሳ ሁስ ሁስሳታራ ዱባ ጦቂ አማራ።”BSBBSB: For everyone who exalts himself will be humbled, and the one who humbles himself will be exalted.”
12. 12BSWEየሱሳና ካኡማተሮ እባዶትነ አደ፥ “ክታ ካአር ጎርቱን ክታ ካሄመነ ኣሞ ካኮኤካሳቶ ጎራታ ኦፈልተቶ ጎጎማርትሶንኮና አምአታ ኩን ጎጎአባቦንኮ፥ ኩ ካጌላታሮኮ ጎርቱን አብላልታ ፋልካ ጎርቱን ዱረሳ ኦላታ አሮኡማተ።BSBBSB: Then Jesus said to the man who had invited Him, “When you host a dinner or a banquet, do not invite your friends or brothers or relatives or rich neighbors. Otherwise, they may invite you in return, and you will be repaid.
13. 13BSWEአየሱን ጎአመን ማርትና ካኮኤካሳተ ጎራታ ህየሳል ኦኤሳራን፥ ናፋለሳና ኢልኦ ኦደያኖን ኡም።BSBBSB: But when you host a banquet, invite the poor, the crippled, the lame, and the blind,
14. 14BSWEአት ሶማሳንቶዋ፥ ሂኒዕ አማኣ አባብን ኦዳንዴኖን ማንኮሌን ማራን፥ ቁሎለኮክ ከያኖይ አምአታ አባባቶዋ” አመ።BSBBSB: and you will be blessed. Since they cannot repay you, you will be repaid at the resurrection of the righteous.”
15. 15BSWEየሱሳነ ዎታ አሞን ኦሀማጼራን ኦሮኮ ኮ ሂካ ማለረ “ዎኖናት ካዋይ ጋባላመረ ባቦኮ ካአማራ ካሶማሳመያ” አመ።BSBBSB: When one of those reclining with Him heard this, he said to Jesus, “Blessed is everyone who will eat at the feast in the kingdom of God.”
16. 16BSWEየሱሳ አደ፥ “እባዶት ኮ ኦአቲ ማርትና ኤካሳተረ ካሞጋን እባዶ ኡመ።BSBBSB: But Jesus replied, “A certain man prepared a great banquet and invited many guests.
17. 17BSWEካአሞ ጎራታና ካኮገያረ ጎራታ ታኡማንተቶ ማርትጆልነ፥ ‘ሂክማ፥ ካአመን ዱባና ኤካተራ ኮዬን’ አም ጎጎኡምሮን ካሀንዳሮኬሳ ፋረ።BSBBSB: When it was time for the banquet, he sent his servant to tell those who had been invited, ‘Come, for everything is now ready.’
18. 18BSWE“አየሱን ጎአመን ዱባና ታትሶ ታትሶ ኣላንቲ መጣኖ ሀጋአበን፥ ካሆሬ ጋና ግዳ ‘ኤረ ማንኮኢምናየሮ ማራን ሴይረ ድያታኖ ዶትሳራ፥ ማጋኔ፥ ኢን ሻጋ የልና’ አመ።BSBBSB: But one after another they all began to make excuses. The first one said, ‘I have bought a field, and I need to go see it. Please excuse me.’
19. 19BSWE“ካካለና፥ ‘አን አራር ካዶ ከን ኢምናየራ፤ እሶ አብ ድናራ ማጋኔ ሻጋ ኢን የልና’ አመ።BSBBSB: Another said, ‘I have bought five yoke of oxen, and I am going to try them out. Please excuse me.’
20. 20BSWE“ካካለና አደ፥ ‘አን ጋና ካማሻሸ ማንኮሌ ማራን ኤመይን ላኮዳንዴሮ አመ።’BSBBSB: Still another said, ‘I have married a wife, so I cannot come.’
21. 21BSWE“ካሀንዳረና አባባተ ኤመተረ ዎይቻኬሳዉን ሰገ። ሀሱ ጎራታ ካምነ ጎታ አማራተረ ካሀንዳረነ፥ ‘ሳምደ ራ ካባላኣኒ ካግሮና ካኡባን ካግሮ ዱባ ቤ፥ ህየሳልና ናፋለሳጆል፥ ኢልኦ ካደያኖና ካኤሳሮ ሂታራ ታብስ’ አመ።BSBBSB: The servant returned and reported all this to his master. Then the owner of the house became angry and said to his servant, ‘Go out quickly into the streets and alleys of the city, and bring in the poor, the crippled, the blind, and the lame.’
22. 22BSWE“ካሀንዳረና፥ ‘ጎታኬ፤ አት ካአጃጂተተ ዱባ ጉድሰራ፥ ግዳና አደ ባንኤ ግቶዋ’ አመ።BSBBSB: ‘Sir,’ the servant replied, ‘what you ordered has been done, and there is still room.’
23. 23BSWE“ጎታና ካሀንዳረነ፥ ራ ካጎሳ ቶንሳ ራ ካቃማ ቶስ ቤና፥ ‘ምንክና ጎጎአማጋምሮን ካሄልተ ዱባ ሁና ኬን ጉደ ታብስና።BSBBSB: So the master told his servant, ‘Go out to the highways and hedges and compel them to come in, so that my house will be full.
24. 24BSWEኣንክ ኡማመ ግራን ካዲደሮ እባዶኮ አሞኬ ህኢ ካአብናራ ኮና ላኮግሮ!’ አመ።”BSBBSB: For I tell you, not one of those men who were invited will taste my banquet.’”
25. 25BSWEካሞጋን ጎሳ ራቶ ሰሴታ ግራን፥ የሱሳ ካምባል አመረ ሃ አመ።BSBBSB: Now large crowds were traveling with Jesus, and He turned and said to them,
26. 26BSWE“እን ቶስ ካኤመታራ ዱባ ኣቦኬሳና ኣየቴሳ ኦርቴሳና ይስኬሳ፥ አቢላልቴሳና አባላልቴሳ፥ ግርኬሳ ዱዶ ሀሄሶን እንኮ ሮርሳተ ካጌላታራ፥ ኢንደቤ ካሰሰታሮ ሊን ላኮዳንዳሮ።BSBBSB: “If anyone comes to Me and does not hate his father and mother and wife and children and brothers and sisters—yes, even his own life—he cannot be My disciple.
27. 27BSWEማስቃሊቴሳ ስዳይረ እን ዴበ ካሰሰኖን እንኮ ካአጋልሳታሮ ሊን ላኮዳንዳሮ።BSBBSB: And whoever does not carry his cross and follow Me cannot be My disciple.
28. 28BSWE“እስን ኦሮኮ እባዶት ኮ ምን ካግንበ ማዳራይን ጎዶታተ፥ ጉድሲን ዳንዳኖና ዳንድዋት ጣየ ኤግታክ ማራጋደ ዶትሳሮ ሀማጺረ ዶክ ካሄዳኖን አዮያ?BSBBSB: Which of you, wishing to build a tower, does not first sit down and count the cost to see if he has the resources to complete it?
29. 29BSWEኡኩም ሉጉዳይጉረ ጉሳዪን ጎዋተ፥ ካዴ ዱባ ኡሱ ቃጭፋታራ።BSBBSB: Otherwise, if he lays the foundation and is unable to finish the work, everyone who sees it will ridicule him,
30. 30BSWEሃና አማራን፥ ‘ሂክ እባዶት ምን ማዳራዪን አባተጉረ፥ ጉሳዪን አደ ዋተ’ አማራን።BSBBSB: saying, ‘This man could not finish what he started to build.’
31. 31BSWE“ጎርቱን ዎኖ ኮ ዎኖ ካካለ ዎታ ጀሬን ሻፋይን ካኮኬሮ ጎራታ፥ ኩማ ቶሞን ዎታዳራል ታብስሰረ ካኤሜታሮ ዎኖ ካካለ ኩማ ላማታን ዎታዳራ ዎታ ጀሬን ሻፋይን ዳንዳኖኮክ ሀማጽረ ካማካሮን አዮያ?BSBBSB: Or what king on his way to war with another king will not first sit down and consider whether he can engage with ten thousand men the one coming against him with twenty thousand?
32. 32BSWEሻፋይን ካዳንዴኖን ጎሌ፥ ካካለ ዎኖ ጋና ኤባ ግራን፥ ሀንዳ ኦጌጊሳራን ፋረጉረ ዎጋርስ ሆሳታራ።BSBBSB: And if he is unable, he will send a delegation while the other king is still far off, to ask for terms of peace.
33. 33BSWEኡሱማለና፥ እስን ኦሮኮ ማዮና ካኬሳ ካአቦ ዱባ ካኢሶን፥ እንኮ ካአጋልሳታሮ ሊን ላኮዳንዳሮ።”BSBBSB: In the same way, any one of you who does not give up everything he has cannot be My disciple.
34. 34BSWE“ኤሰቦ ታኢዳንትታ፥ ኤሰቦ ኦኖሞንጀ ጎዋታንተ አድ ምሲ አባባይ ታኤሰቦ ኦኖሞንጀ ግርን ዳንዳታ?BSBBSB: Salt is good, but if the salt loses its savor, with what will it be seasoned?
35. 35BSWEኡሉን ሌረ ማዳባራዉን ላኦ ታስሶን ላኖይ ሳርድ ሻፋምናታ። “ካማላራ ነበ ካአባ ሀማሎ።”BSBBSB: It is fit neither for the soil nor for the manure pile, and it is thrown out. He who has ears to hear, let him hear.”
