1. 1BSWEየሱሳ ኡሱኮ ኦአጋልሳታራን ቶሞንኮ ላማን አጃጃ ስሰ አባባተረ፥ አጋልስስና ላላብን ካታማልትሶ ቶስ ሴተ።BSBBSB: After Jesus had finished instructing His twelve disciples, He went on from there to teach and preach in their cities.
2. 2BSWEካጣማቃረ ያንሳ ምን ካሻኖ ግራን ክርስቶሳ ፈላ ኦግሮ ፈሎ ካኮማላረ ጎራታ ኡሱኮ ኦአጋልሳታራን ኡሱ ቶስ ፋረጉረ፥BSBBSB: Meanwhile John heard in prison about the works of Christ, and he sent his disciples
3. 3BSWE“ኤመታራ አማማተ ካኦራማተ ክርስቶሳ አትታ? ሙ ካካለ ኦራና?” አመን ሆሳተን።BSBBSB: to ask Him, “Are You the One who was to come, or should we look for someone else?”
4. 4BSWEየሱሳና አባበረ፤ “ሴየንጉዴን ካማላታና ካድያታን ያንሳን ሰጋ።BSBBSB: Jesus replied, “Go back and report to John what you hear and see:
5. 5BSWEእልኦ ኦድያኖና ድናራን፥ ናፋለሳልና ሰሴይናራ፥ ማሪ ባር ኦአባና ሙጭአምናራን፥ ነቤ ኦማሎና ማልናራን፥ ኦጎየራና ኪናራን፥ ህየሳሉና ካገጌሎ ዎንጋላ ላላባምናራ፤BSBBSB: The blind receive sight, the lame walk, the lepers are cleansed, the deaf hear, the dead are raised, and the good news is preached to the poor.
6. 6BSWEእን ካሄዳኖን ካሶማሳመያ” አመ።BSBBSB: Blessed is the one who does not fall away on account of Me.”
7. 7BSWEያንሳኮ ኦአጋልሳታራን ሴተን ካኮቡዋሬን ጎራታ፤ የሱሳ ጋራ ካያንሳ ጎሳን ሃ አመ አዬሰ፥ “ቃሉላቶክ ኡል ቶስ መ ድን ቤተን? አምባል ካአኢሳቶ ፊቀ ዲንያ?BSBBSB: As John’s disciples were leaving, Jesus began to speak to the crowds about John: “What did you go out into the wilderness to see? A reed swaying in the wind?
8. 8BSWEሀያ መ ድን ቤተን? ሳርስ ካኢዳሮ ካሳርሳተሮ እባዶያ? ሳርስ ካእዳን ሳርሳቴን ኦኢዳራን ምን ካዎኖላል ግራንዋ።BSBBSB: Otherwise, what did you go out to see? A man dressed in fine clothes? Look, those who wear fine clothing are found in kings’ palaces.
9. 9BSWEሀያ መ ድን ቤተን? ካሄገሮ ዲንያ? እ ዱዶዋ ካሄገሮኮና ካሮረያ።BSBBSB: What then did you go out to see? A prophet? Yes, I tell you, and more than a prophet.
10. 10BSWEሃ አማመ ማጻፋ ቁሉክ ካኮንጻፋመራ ኡሱያ፥ ‘ራካ ጎጎኤካስሮን ኤርግቻ ኩኮ ሆረነ ፋርናራ።’BSBBSB: This is the one about whom it is written: ‘Behold, I will send My messenger ahead of You, who will prepare Your way before You.’
11. 11BSWE“አን ሩምና አማራ ሄለልኮ ካአላተሮ ኦሮኮ ካጣማቃሮ ያንሳ ኣንክክ ላኮግሮ። አየሱን ጎአመ ዎኖናት ካዳሩረይ ዱባንኮ ካየራታራ ኡሱ ጂናታራ።BSBBSB: Truly I tell you, among those born of women there has risen no one greater than John the Baptist. Yet even the least in the kingdom of heaven is greater than he.
12. 12BSWEያንሳ ካኮጣማቃረ ጌስኮ ሀጋአበረ ህታር ታ ጌሮ ዎኖናት ካዳሩረ ካሞጋን ዲዳምናራ፥ ኣሎ አታቴን ኦዶታታራን ሄላይናራን፥BSBBSB: From the days of John the Baptist until now, the kingdom of heaven has been subject to violence, and the violent lay claim to it.
13. 13BSWEአጋልስስ ካሄገሮል ዱባና ሴራ ካሙሴ ታ ካጣማቃረ ያንሳ ገራኒ ሄገሮ አዬሰራን።BSBBSB: For all the Prophets and the Law prophesied until John.
14. 14BSWEጎርታ እሶ ካአዬሰናን አታይን ጎዶታቴን ኡሱና ኤመይናራ ካአማመረ ኤላሳ ሂካ ያንሳያ።BSBBSB: And if you are willing to accept it, he is the Elijah who was to come.
15. 15BSWEነበ ካአባ ሀማሎ!BSBBSB: He who has ears, let him hear.
16. 16BSWE“ህታ አላታን መነ ዎታ ሄሬግስራ? ግያይ ሀማጼንጉሬን ሃ አማ እስ እስ ካኡማታሮ ይስ ኣን ላራን።”BSBBSB: To what can I compare this generation? They are like children sitting in the marketplaces and calling out to others:
17. 17BSWE“ ‘ሱሱሌ ኡፉፍነ ላኮዱዱርተታን፥ ቦቾ ቦችነዋ ላኮኦቴን’BSBBSB: ‘We played the flute for you, and you did not dance; we sang a dirge, and you did not mourn.’
18. 18BSWEያንሳ አሞኮና ጣሞኮ እስኦራተ ማንኮኤሜተ ማራን ‘ኡሱ ባቲክ አያናጆል አባ!’ አመን።BSBBSB: For John came neither eating nor drinking, and they say, ‘He has a demon!’
19. 19BSWEኤረ ካእባዶ አማና ጣማ ኤመተ፥ እሶና ኡሱ ‘ካአማሮና ካጣማሮያ! ኡሱማሌ፥ ቃራጣ ኦኩኩይሳራና “ጩባለይጆል” ’ ካጌላታሮያ አመን። ቃሩማ ጎአመን ፈሎኦትሴይ አዴሳንተ።”BSBBSB: The Son of Man came eating and drinking, and they say, ‘Look at this glutton and drunkard, a friend of tax collectors and sinners!’ But wisdom is vindicated by her actions.”
20. 20BSWEኤሰኮና የሱሳ ካሞጋን ባሳ ታኮፈለሮ ካታማል ጩቦኮ ማንኮ ጉላ ጋላናዋተን ማራን ሃ አመ ዎቃሴ፥BSBBSB: Then Jesus began to denounce the cities in which most of His miracles had been performed, because they did not repent.
21. 21BSWE“ኣኔ ኮራዝ! ኣኔ ቤተሳይዳ! እስኒ ካፈላመራ ባሳ ጢሮሲና ስዶናይ ካፈላመሮ ሊ ግረዋ፥ ሆርኮዋ ሳርስ ጋምባላክ ሳርሳይ ቡሉሎ ማሪ ክክባይ ጩቦኮ ጉላ ጋል ግራሬንዋ።BSBBSB: “Woe to you, Chorazin! Woe to you, Bethsaida! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Tyre and Sidon, they would have repented long ago in sackcloth and ashes.
22. 22BSWEሃንሱን አን እስኔ ሃ አማራ፥ ታፍርዳ አሪ እስንኮ ሮር ጢሮስዉና ስዶናዉን ሙሮ ሱረ ፉፉዳይናራን።BSBBSB: But I tell you, it will be more bearable for Tyre and Sidon on the day of judgment than for you.
23. 23BSWEአት ቅፍረናሆም ዳሩር ቶስ ጦቂ ጦቂ አምን ዶታተ? አየሱን ጎአመን ቦዋ ኦሮድ ኢናታ! ኩዬ ካፈላመራ ባሳ ሶዶሚና ፈላም ግረዋ ህታር ጊን ኤሰ ካታማ ግራተዋ።BSBBSB: And you, Capernaum, will you be lifted up to heaven? No, you will be brought down to Hades! For if the miracles that were performed in you had been performed in Sodom, it would have remained to this day.
24. 24BSWEሃንሱን አን ሩምና ኩን ሃ አማራ፥ ታፍርዳ አሪ ታግናታ ሙሮ ታታኮ ሮር ሶዶሚን ፉፉዳይናታ!”BSBBSB: But I tell you that it will be more bearable for Sodom on the day of judgment than for you.”
25. 25BSWEሀሱ ጎራታ የሱሳ፥ “ካዳሩረና ካኡሌ ጎታ ኣቦ! ሂካ ቃሮሌልኮና ኦካሳንኮ ጎሊሰደ ይሱን ማንኮቱሰ ማራን አን ኩ ጋላታራ፥ አመ።BSBBSB: At that time Jesus declared, “I praise You, Father, Lord of heaven and earth, because You have hidden these things from the wise and learned, and revealed them to little children.
26. 26BSWEእ ኣቦክ! ሂክ ኩ ሆረ ፈኢ ታኢዳን ሌተ ኩን ሙተ።BSBBSB: Yes, Father, for this was well-pleasing in Your sight.
27. 27BSWE“ኣቦክ ካመን ዱባ ኢን ስሰራ፥ ኦዶኮ ካካለ ኤረ ካካሳ ማዮና ላኮግሮ። ኡሱማለና ኤረኮ ካካለ ኦዶ ካማላብራ ላኮግሮ፥ ኤረ ኦጌላተሮን ጎቱሰ ኳሬ ኦዶ አዴስን ካዳንዳራ ማዮና ላግሮ።BSBBSB: All things have been entrusted to Me by My Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal Him.
28. 28BSWE“እስን ስዳነ ካኮንኢስላተታ! ኦሀርቴታን ዱባ እን ቶስ ኮዬን! አንና ፎልሲ ስስናራ።BSBBSB: Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.
29. 29BSWEሀርቆታኬና ስዳዬን፥ ኢንኮና አጋልሳዬን፥ አን ዎዳናቴይ ፋያንካና ካኦብሳሮያ፥ ኔፎትስኑና ፎልሲ ሄላይናታን።BSBBSB: Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls.
30. 30BSWEሀርቆታክ ካእስላኖን ስዳነትና ታፉፉድታ።”BSBBSB: For My yoke is easy and My burden is light.”
