1. 1BSWEኤሰኮ የሱሳ ጎሳነና ኡሱኮ ኦአጋልሳታረነ ሃ አመ አዬሰ፥BSBBSB: Then Jesus spoke to the crowds and to His disciples:
2. 2BSWE“ሴራ ካሙሴ ኦአጋልስሳራና ፋራሳዊል ሙሴ ኣን ሴራ ጎጎአጋልስስራዉን ኦዶናት እሶን ስሳመራ።BSBBSB: “The scribes and Pharisees sit in Moses’ seat.
3. 3BSWEሃኑን እሶ እስኑን ካሰጋራን ዱባ ፈላ፥ ኦራዬን፥ አየሱን ጎአመን ጎጎአዬሳራንክ ማለ ላኮፈላራን፥ እሶ ኦፈላራን ፈሎ አሮፈልቴን።BSBBSB: So practice and observe everything they tell you. But do not do what they do, for they do not practice what they preach.
4. 4BSWEአደና ስዳሚን ታዳንዳሞን ስዳነ ታአቲ ሽዬንጉረን ሃን ካእባዶ ጉት ካራን፤ እሶ ጎአመን ፈሪና ዱዶ ድኒን ላኮዶታራን።BSBBSB: They tie up heavy, burdensome loads and lay them on men’s shoulders, but they themselves are not willing to lift a finger to move them.
5. 5BSWE“እባዶን ሙትን አመንጉረን ፈሎኦትሶ እባዶ ሆረ ቱሳይን አመረነ፥ ሻሺ ኣን በቤድትሶይ ሻታራን፥ ማልድያ ኣን ገነትሶይ ሻታራን፥ ጋሸኮት ሻርፍና ኤራሳታራን፤BSBBSB: All their deeds are done for men to see. They broaden their phylacteries and lengthen their tassels.
6. 6BSWEታአሞ ባንኤ፥ ታካባጃንተ ባንኤ፥ አይሁድኮክ ምን ካኤብ ካሆራርጄ ባርጩማ ሀማጺን ጌላታራን።BSBBSB: They love the places of honor at banquets, the chief seats in the synagogues,
7. 7BSWEኡሱማለና ግያ ኦሮ ኖጎዳ አታኖና ህኢ ታእባዶኮ ‘ካአጋልስሳቶ!’ አማም ኡማምን ዶታታራን።BSBBSB: the greetings in the marketplaces, and the title of ‘Rabbi’ by which they are addressed.
8. 8BSWE“እስን ጎአመን ‘ካአጋልስሳቶ!’ አማም ላኮኡማምናታን፥ እስን ካአጋልስሳራ ኮ ካላልያ፥ እስን ዱባና አቢላልታን።BSBBSB: But you are not to be called ‘Rabbi,’ for you have one Teacher, and you are all brothers.
9. 9BSWEዳሩሪ ካግሮ ኣቦ ኮ ማንኮአብታን ማራን ኡሊ ማዮና ‘ኣቦ’ አም አሮኡንቴን።BSBBSB: And do not call anyone on earth your father, for you have one Father, who is in heaven.
10. 10BSWEእስኑን ባሊክስን ክርስቶሳ ማንኮሌሮ ማራን ‘ባሊ’ አማም አሮኡማንቴን።BSBBSB: Nor are you to be called instructors, for you have one Instructor, the Christ.
11. 11BSWEእስን ኦሮኮ ዱባንኮ ካንጅንክ ካሌራ እስኑን ካሀንዳሮ ልናራ።BSBBSB: The greatest among you shall be your servant.
12. 12BSWEእስኦቴሳ ጦቂ ጦቂሳታራ የራታራ እስኦቴሳ ካየራሳታራ አደ ካባጃማራ።BSBBSB: For whoever exalts himself will be humbled, and whoever humbles himself will be exalted.
13. 13BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ ሴራ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል ዎኖናት ካዳሩረ ቶስ እባዶ ጎጎታቦንኮ ኡፋ ማንኮጩፋታን ማራን ኣኔ እስኑን! እስን መተክስኑን ላኮታብታን፤ ታብን ካዶታታሮና ላኮታብሳታን። [BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You shut the kingdom of heaven in men’s faces. You yourselves do not enter, nor will you let in those who wish to enter.

15. 15BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ ሴራ ካሙሴ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል፥ እስን እባዶት ኮ እስንኮ ካአጋልሳታሮ የልን በከይና ኡል ጉት ማንኮማራሙራታን ማራን እሶ ካኮታብሰን ጎራታ እስንኮ አምባ ካሮረ ታጋነም ኤለኒ ጎጎኢሮን ማንኮየላታን ማራን ኣኔ እስኑን!።BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You traverse land and sea to win a single convert, and when he becomes one, you make him twice as much a son of hell as you are.
16. 16BSWE“እስን ጃማስ ጃማስ ሆረ ሀይቴን ኦገጌሳታን፤ ኣኔ እስኑን! ‘ማዮና ቁሉክ ምን ካዋይ ጎአማተ ኮና ላኮዮ፤ አየሱን ጎአመን ቁሉክ ምን ካዋ ኦሮ ካግሮ ዎርቂ ጉት ጎአማተ አደ አማቶ ግያራን’ አማታን።BSBBSB: Woe to you, blind guides! You say, ‘If anyone swears by the temple, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gold of the temple, he is bound by his oath.’
17. 17BSWEእስን ጃማሲልና ጎዎሌ ዎርቂኮና ዎርቂ ካቁሎይሳሮ ቁሉክ ምንኮና ኤክያ ካሮራራ?BSBBSB: You blind fools! Which is greater: the gold, or the temple that makes it sacred?
18. 18BSWEኡሱማለና ታፋላ ባንኤ ካአማታሮ እባዶን ኮና ላኮግሮ፥ አየሱን ጎአመን ታፋላ ባንኤ ካግሮ ጃርሶይ ጉት ጎአማትራን አማቶ ሀኑኡ ግያራን አማታን።BSBBSB: And you say, ‘If anyone swears by the altar, it means nothing; but if anyone swears by the gift on it, he is bound by his oath.’
19. 19BSWEእስን ጃማሌሳ ፋላኮና ታቁሎይሳቶ ታፋላ ባንኤኮ ኤክያ ካሮራራ?BSBBSB: You blind men! Which is greater: the gift, or the altar that makes it sacred?
20. 20BSWEሃኑን ታፋላ ባንኤይ ካአማተራ ካኮፋላታራን ጉት ካግሮ ዱባይ አማታራ።BSBBSB: So then, he who swears by the altar swears by it and by everything on it.
21. 21BSWEኡሱማለና ቁሉክ ምን ካዋይ ካአማተ ቁሉክ ምን ካዋይ ኦሮ ካግሮና አማታራ።BSBBSB: And he who swears by the temple swears by it and by the One who dwells in it.
22. 22BSWEዳሩሪ ካአማተ ኮርፍንጀ ካዋይ ጉት ካሀማጼሮይና አማታራ።BSBBSB: And he who swears by heaven swears by God’s throne and by the One who sits on it.
23. 23BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ ሴራ ካሙሴ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል ኣኔ እስኑን! አኑጋኮ፥ ዴቦኮና ኦካሸኮ ካሆራርጄ ሆራ ዋዉን ስሳታን፥ ሴራ ኦሮ ካግሮ መተክ አየስ ካሌሮ፤ ፍርዳ ካሩም፥ ሻጋና፥ አብዳማኖ አደን ቱፋተታን። ኣኒዕ ሀኢሶን ህናኣና ፈልቴንዋ ካእዳንየ።BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You pay tithes of mint, dill, and cumin. But you have disregarded the weightier matters of the law: justice, mercy, and faithfulness. You should have practiced the latter, without neglecting the former.
24. 24BSWEእስን ጃማሌሳ ጃማሌሳ ሆረ ሀይቴን ኦገጌሳታን! ቢንኢ ኣን ካላሮ አየስ አሳብቴን ሻፋታን፤ ጋላ ኣን ካለያሮ አየስ አዴን ኤኔጋታን።BSBBSB: You blind guides! You strain out a gnat but swallow a camel.
25. 25BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ ሴራ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል፤ ኣኔ እስኑን! ካፋላ ያላኣና ካጡጋ ሁ ምና ታሳሬ ታላል ሻሻካራታን፤ ኦሮኦትሶ ጎአመን ሳማኖይና እስአዎዳይዋቲ አማጋመራ።BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You clean the outside of the cup and dish, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence.
26. 26BSWEአት ጃማክ ፋራሳውት ጣይ ሁ ካፋላ ያላኣና ካጡጋ ሁ ኦሮ ሙጭስ፤ ኤሰኮ ጉትክሶና ካሙጭመ ሌራ።BSBBSB: Blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and dish, so that the outside may become clean as well.
27. 27BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ ሴራ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል ጉትክሶ ባርሳ ጣላላመ ካኢዳሮ፥ ኦሮኦትሶ ጎአመን ካጎየ እባዶኮክ ለፋልና ባቲክ አየስ ዱባ ካአማጋመ ሂዬል ኣን ማንኮላታን ማራን ኣኔ እስኑን።BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You are like whitewashed tombs, which look beautiful on the outside but on the inside are full of dead men’s bones and every kind of impurity.
28. 28BSWEእስና ሳሬ እባዶን ቁሉክ ኣን ላታን፥ ኦሮኦትስን ጎአመን ኢፍሳዳይና ሜላነይ ኦአማጋሜንያን።BSBBSB: In the same way, on the outside you appear to be righteous, but on the inside you are full of hypocrisy and wickedness.
29. 29BSWE“እስን ኢፍሳዶለ፥ ሴራ ካሙሴ ኦአጋልስሳታና ፋራሳዊል ኣኔ እስኑን! ካሄገሮል ኮክ ቃማል ግምባ ካቁሎሌ ቃማል ኢሳድሳ፥BSBBSB: Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, you hypocrites! You build tombs for the prophets and decorate the monuments of the righteous.
30. 30BSWE‘ካጣዎ ኦዶላልካንክ ጌሲ ካግነ ሌነዋ፥ ካሄገሮል ኮክ ኢግ ኡባኖይ እሶነ ዎታ ላኮላኔ’ አማታን።BSBBSB: And you say, ‘If we had lived in the days of our fathers, we would not have been partners with them in shedding the blood of the prophets.’
31. 31BSWEሂካኒና ካሄገሮል ላጋዴን ኦግረን ኦዶላልካንዉን ሳኒ ላኖክስን እስ ኦትስን ጉት አቶትናታን።BSBBSB: So you testify against yourselves that you are the sons of those who murdered the prophets.
32. 32BSWEጎርታኑን ኦዶላልክስን ፈልን ኦሀጋአቤረን ፈሎ ጉድሳ።BSBBSB: Fill up, then, the measure of the sin of your fathers.
33. 33BSWE“እስን ሀበሳል! ይስ ካጃራ ታባኖን ታጋነም ኤሌንኮት ሙርትኮ ምሲ ሄሲን ዳንዴታን?BSBBSB: You snakes! You brood of vipers! How will you escape the sentence of hell?
34. 34BSWEሃኑን ካሄገሮ፥ ቃሮሌልና ሴራ ኦአጋልስሳራን ፋርናራ፥ ህናኣኮ ኮኮ ላጋድናታን፥ ኮኮና ሱይናታን፥ ካካለና አይሁድኮክ ምን ካኤብ ኦሮ ቦጭናታን። ካታማ ቶኮ ካታማ ታካለ ቶስ እስን እሶ ሆሮርናታን።BSBBSB: Because of this, I am sending you prophets and wise men and teachers. Some of them you will kill and crucify, and others you will flog in your synagogues and persecute from town to town.
35. 35BSWEሃኑን ቁሉክ ካኣቤላ ኢግኮ ሀጋአበረ ቁሉክ ምኒና ፋላ ማንኮፈላታራን ጠኤ ካላጋዴታን ኤረ ካበራክዩኮ ታ ካዛክራሳ ኢግ ጌሮ ኡሊ ጉት ካኡባተሮ ቁሉክ ኢግ ዱባን እስን ኦሆሳማታንታን።BSBBSB: And so upon you will come all the righteous blood shed on earth, from the blood of righteous Abel to the blood of Zechariah son of Berechiah, whom you murdered between the temple and the altar.
36. 36BSWEአን ሩምና አማራ ካሮረሮ አየስ ዱባን ህት አላታን ሆሳማታ።BSBBSB: Truly I tell you, all these things will come upon this generation.
37. 37BSWE“አት ኢየሩሳለም፥ ካሄገሮ ታላጋዳታ፥ ኩ ቶስ ኦፋራመራና ኤኤሞይ ታኤጋታ አት ኢየሩሳለም ሉካለ ጩጩተክሴ ባልክሰ ሄገሊ ጎጎኩኩይሳቶይ፥ እባዶካ ኩኩይስን ምያ ጋለ አን ዶተ፥ እስን ጎአመን እ ላኮአንተታን።BSBBSB: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together, as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!
38. 38BSWEጎርታ ቁሉክ ምን ካኤብካክስን ኦና ሊ ሄስናራ።BSBBSB: Look, your house is left to you desolate.
39. 39BSWEሃንሱን፥ ‘ካጎታ መገ ካኤመታራ ካሶማሳመያ’ ታ አንታኒ ጊን ሂካ ጎራታኮ ሀጋአብረ እስን ካላም እን ላኮዴታን።”BSBBSB: For I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
