The Descendants of David (2 Samuel 3:1–5)
1 CPDV Truly, David had these sons, who were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn Amnon, of Ahinoam the Jezreelite; the second Daniel, from Abigail the Carmelite; BSB BSB: These were the sons of David who were born to him in Hebron: The firstborn was Amnon by Ahinoam of Jezreel; the second was Daniel by Abigail of Carmel;
2 CPDV the third Absalom, the son of Maacah, daughter of Talmai, king of Geshur; the fourth Adonijah, the son of Haggith; BSB BSB: the third was Absalom the son of Maacah daughter of King Talmai of Geshur; the fourth was Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3 CPDV the fifth Shephatiah, of Abital; the sixth Ithream, from his wife Eglah. BSB BSB: the fifth was Shephatiah by Abital; and the sixth was Ithream by his wife Eglah.
4 CPDV Therefore, six were born to him in Hebron, where he reigned for seven years and six months. Then he reigned for thirty-three years in Jerusalem. BSB BSB: These six sons were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months. And David reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three years,
5 CPDV Now in Jerusalem, sons were born to him: Shammua, and Sobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, these four from Bathsheba, the daughter of Ammiel; BSB BSB: and these sons were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. These four were born to him by Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel.
6 CPDV also Ibhar and Elishama, BSB BSB: David’s other sons were Ibhar, Elishua, Eliphelet,
7 CPDV and Eliphelet, and Nogah, and Nepheg, and Japhia, BSB BSB: Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8 CPDV indeed also Elishama, and Eliada, and Eliphelet, nine. BSB BSB: Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet—nine in all.
9 CPDV All these were sons of David, aside from the sons of the concubines. And they had a sister, Tamar. BSB BSB: These were all the sons of David, besides the sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister.
The Descendants of Solomon 10 CPDV Now the son of Solomon was Rehoboam, from whom Abijah conceived a son, Asa. And from him, there was born Jehoshaphat, BSB BSB: Solomon’s son was Rehoboam: Abijah was his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,
12 CPDV And his son, Amaziah, conceived Azariah. Then Jotham, the son of Azariah, BSB BSB: Amaziah his son, Azariah his son, Jotham his son,
13 CPDV conceived Ahaz, the father of Hezekiah, from whom was born Manasseh. BSB BSB: Ahaz his son, Hezekiah his son, Manasseh his son,
14 CPDV Then too, Manasseh conceived Amon, the father of Josiah. BSB BSB: Amon his son, and Josiah his son.
15 CPDV Now the sons of Josiah were these: the firstborn Johanan, the second Jehoiakim, the third Zedekiah, the fourth Shallum. BSB BSB: The sons of Josiah: Johanan was the firstborn, Jehoiakim the second, Zedekiah the third, and Shallum the fourth.
16 CPDV From Jehoiakim was born Jeconiah and Zedekiah. BSB BSB: The successors of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, and Zedekiah.

18 CPDV Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, and Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah. BSB BSB: Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19 CPDV From Pedaiah, there rose up Zerubbabel and Shimei. Zerubbabel conceived Meshullam, Hananiah, and their sister Shelomith, BSB BSB: The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei. The children of Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah, their sister Shelomith,
20 CPDV as well as Hashubah, and Ohel, and Berechiah, and Hasadiah, Jushab-hesed, five. BSB BSB: and five others: Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-hesed.
21 CPDV Now the son of Hananiah was Pelatiah, the father of Jeshaiah, whose son was Rephaiah. And his son was Arnan, from whom was born Obadiah, whose son was Shecaniah. BSB BSB: The descendants of Hananiah: Pelatiah, Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah, and of Shecaniah.
22 CPDV The son of Shecaniah was Shemaiah, whose sons were these: Hattush, and Igal, and Bariah, and Neariah, and Shaphat, six in number. BSB BSB: The six descendants of Shecaniah were Shemaiah and his sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat.
23 CPDV The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, and Hizkiaj, and Azrikam, three. BSB BSB: The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam—three in all.
24 CPDV The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, and Eliashib, and Pelaiah, and Akkub, and Johanan, and Delaiah, and Anani, seven. BSB BSB: The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani—seven in all.
