CPDV No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you will all perish similarly. BSB BSB: No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.
CPDV And those eighteen upon whom the tower of Siloam fell and killed them, do you think that they also were greater transgressors than all the men living in Jerusalem? BSB BSB: Or those eighteen who were killed when the tower of Siloam collapsed on them: Do you think that they were more sinful than all the others living in Jerusalem?
CPDV No, I tell you. But if you do not repent, you will all perish similarly.” BSB BSB: No, I tell you. But unless you repent, you too will all perish.”
The Parable of the Barren Fig Tree (Isaiah 5:1–7)
CPDV Then he said to the cultivator of the vineyard: ‘Behold, for these three years I came seeking fruit on this fig tree, and I have found none. Therefore, cut it down. For why should it even occupy the land?’ BSB BSB: So he said to the keeper of the vineyard, ‘Look, for the past three years I have come to search for fruit on this fig tree and haven’t found any. Therefore cut it down! Why should it use up the soil?’
CPDV But in response, he said to him: ‘Lord, let it be for this year also, during which time I will dig around it and add fertilizer. BSB BSB: ‘Sir,’ the man replied, ‘leave it alone again this year, until I dig around it and fertilize it.
CPDV And, indeed, it should bear fruit. But if not, in the future, you shall cut it down.’ ” BSB BSB: If it bears fruit next year, fine. But if not, you can cut it down.’”

CPDV And behold, there was a woman who had a spirit of infirmity for eighteen years. And she was bent over; and she was unable to look upwards at all. BSB BSB: and a woman there had been disabled by a spirit for eighteen years. She was hunched over and could not stand up straight.

CPDV And he laid his hands upon her, and immediately she was straightened, and she glorified God. BSB BSB: Then He placed His hands on her, and immediately she straightened up and began to glorify God.
CPDV Then, as a result, the ruler of the synagogue became angry that Jesus had cured on the Sabbath, and he said to the crowd: “There are six days on which you ought to work. Therefore, come and be cured on those, and not on the day of the Sabbath.” BSB BSB: But the synagogue leader was indignant that Jesus had healed on the Sabbath. “There are six days for work,” he told the crowd. “So come and be healed on those days and not on the Sabbath.”
CPDV Then the Lord said to him in response: “You hypocrites! Does not each one of you, on the Sabbath, release his ox or donkey from the stall, and lead it to water? BSB BSB: “You hypocrites!” the Lord replied. “Does not each of you on the Sabbath untie his ox or donkey from the stall and lead it to water?
CPDV So then, should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has bound for lo these eighteen years, be released from this restraint on the day of the Sabbath?” BSB BSB: Then should not this daughter of Abraham, whom Satan has kept bound for eighteen long years, be released from her bondage on the Sabbath day?”
CPDV And as he was saying these things, all his adversaries were ashamed. And all the people rejoiced in everything that was being done gloriously by him. BSB BSB: When Jesus said this, all His adversaries were humiliated. And the whole crowd rejoiced at all the glorious things He was doing.

CPDV It is like a grain of mustard seed, which a man took and cast into his garden. And it grew, and it became a great tree, and the birds of the air rested in its branches.” BSB BSB: It is like a mustard seed that a man tossed into his garden. It grew and became a tree, and the birds of the air nested in its branches.”
The Parable of the Leaven (Matthew 13:33)
CPDV And again, he said: “To what figure shall I compare the kingdom of God? BSB BSB: Again He asked, “To what can I compare the kingdom of God?
CPDV It is like leaven, which a woman took and hid in three measures of fine wheat flour, until it was entirely leavened.” BSB BSB: It is like leaven that a woman took and mixed into three measures of flour, until all of it was leavened.”
The Narrow Door (Matthew 7:13–14)
CPDV And he was traveling through the cities and towns, teaching and making his way to Jerusalem. BSB BSB: Then Jesus traveled throughout the towns and villages, teaching as He made His way toward Jerusalem.

CPDV “Strive to enter through the narrow gate. For many, I tell you, will seek to enter and not be able. BSB BSB: “Make every effort to enter through the narrow door. For many, I tell you, will try to enter and will not be able.
CPDV Then, when the father of the family will have entered and shut the door, you will begin to stand outside and to knock at the door, saying, ‘Lord, open to us.’ And in response, he will say to you, ‘I do not know where you are from.’ BSB BSB: After the master of the house gets up and shuts the door, you will stand outside knocking and saying, ‘Lord, open the door for us.’ But he will reply, ‘I do not know where you are from.’
CPDV Then you will begin to say, ‘We ate and drank in your presence, and you taught in our streets.’ BSB BSB: Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you, and you taught in our streets.’
CPDV And he will say to you: ‘I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you workers of iniquity!’ BSB BSB: And he will answer, ‘I tell you, I do not know where you are from. Depart from me, all you evildoers.’
CPDV In that place, there will be weeping and gnashing of teeth, when you see Abraham, and Isaac, and Jacob, and all the prophets, in the kingdom of God, yet you yourselves are expelled outside. BSB BSB: There will be weeping and gnashing of teeth when you see Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and all the prophets in the kingdom of God, but you yourselves are thrown out.

CPDV And he said to them: “Go and tell that fox: ‘Behold, I cast out demons and accomplish healings, today and tomorrow. And on the third day I reach the end.’ BSB BSB: But Jesus replied, “Go tell that fox, ‘Look, I will keep driving out demons and healing people today and tomorrow, and on the third day I will reach My goal.’
CPDV Yet truly, it is necessary for me to walk today and tomorrow and the following day. For it does not fall to a prophet to perish beyond Jerusalem. BSB BSB: Nevertheless, I must keep going today and tomorrow and the next day, for it is not admissible for a prophet to perish outside of Jerusalem.
CPDV Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets, and you stone those who are sent to you. Daily, I wanted to gather together your children, in the manner of a bird with her nest under her wings, but you were not willing! BSB BSB: O Jerusalem, Jerusalem, who kills the prophets and stones those sent to her, how often I have longed to gather your children together as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you were unwilling!
CPDV Behold, your house will be left desolate for you. But I say to you, that you shall not see me, until it happens that you say: ‘Blessed is he who has arrived in the name of the Lord.’ ” BSB BSB: Look, your house is left to you desolate. And I tell you that you will not see Me again until you say, ‘Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord.’”
