CPDV Blessed shall you be when men will have hated you, and when they will have separated you and reproached you, and thrown out your name as if evil, because of the Son of man. BSB BSB: Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.
CPDV Be glad in that day and exult. For behold, your reward is great in heaven. For these same things their fathers did to the prophets. BSB BSB: Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because great is your reward in heaven. For their fathers treated the prophets in the same way.

CPDV And to him who strikes you on the cheek, offer the other also. And from him who takes away your coat, do not withhold even your tunic. BSB BSB: If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic as well.
CPDV But distribute to all who ask of you. And do not ask again of him who takes away what is yours. BSB BSB: Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what is yours, do not demand it back.
CPDV And exactly as you would want people to treat you, treat them also the same. BSB BSB: Do to others as you would have them do to you.
CPDV And if you love those who love you, what credit is due to you? For even sinners love those who love them. BSB BSB: If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.
CPDV And if you will do good to those who do good to you, what credit is due to you? Indeed, even sinners behave this way. BSB BSB: If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.
CPDV And if you will loan to those from whom you hope to receive, what credit is due to you? For even sinners lend to sinners, in order to receive the same in return. BSB BSB: And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
CPDV So truly, love your enemies. Do good, and lend, hoping for nothing in return. And then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind to the ungrateful and to the wicked. BSB BSB: But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

CPDV And why do you see the straw that is in your brother’s eye, while the log that is in your own eye, you do not consider? BSB BSB: Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?
CPDV Or how can you say to your brother, ‘Brother, allow me to remove the straw from your eye,’ while you yourself do not see the log in your own eye? Hypocrite, first remove the log from your own eye, and then will you see clearly, so that you may lead out the straw from your brother’s eye. BSB BSB: How can you say, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while you yourself fail to see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.
A Tree and Its Fruit (Matthew 7:15–23; Matthew 12:33–37)

CPDV A good man, from the good storehouse of his heart, offers what is good. And an evil man, from the evil storehouse, offers what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart, the mouth speaks. BSB BSB: The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
The House on the Rock (Matthew 7:24–27)
CPDV But why do you call me, ‘Lord, Lord,’ and not do what I say? BSB BSB: Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do what I say?
CPDV Anyone who comes to me, and listens to my words, and does them: I will reveal to you what he is like. BSB BSB: I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them:
CPDV He is like a man building a house, who has dug deep and has laid the foundation upon the rock. Then, when the floodwaters came, the river was rushing against that house, and it was not able to move it. For it was founded upon the rock. BSB BSB: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
CPDV But whoever hears and does not do: he is like a man building his house upon the soil, without a foundation. The river rushed against it, and it soon fell down, and the ruin of that house was great.” BSB BSB: But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it fell—and great was its destruction!”
