CPDV For nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. And there will be pestilences, and famines, and earthquakes in places. BSB BSB: Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be famines and earthquakes in various places.
CPDV But all these things are just the beginning of the sorrows. BSB BSB: All these are the beginning of birth pains.
Witnessing to All Nations (Mark 13:9–13; Luke 21:10–19)
CPDV Then they will hand you over to tribulation, and they will kill you. And you will be hated by all nations for the sake of my name. BSB BSB: Then they will deliver you over to be persecuted and killed, and you will be hated by all nations because of My name.
CPDV And then many will be led into sin, and will betray one another, and will have hatred for one another. BSB BSB: At that time many will fall away and will betray and hate one another,
CPDV And many false prophets will arise, and they will lead many astray. BSB BSB: and many false prophets will arise and deceive many.
CPDV And because iniquity has abounded, the charity of many will grow cold. BSB BSB: Because of the multiplication of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold.

CPDV So then, woe to those who are pregnant or nursing in those days. BSB BSB: How miserable those days will be for pregnant and nursing mothers!
CPDV But pray that your flight may not be in winter, or on the Sabbath. BSB BSB: Pray that your flight will not occur in the winter or on the Sabbath.
CPDV For then there will be a great tribulation, such as has not been from the beginning of the world until the present, and such as will not be. BSB BSB: For at that time there will be great tribulation, unseen from the beginning of the world until now, and never to be seen again.
CPDV And unless those days had been shortened, no flesh would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days shall be shortened. BSB BSB: If those days had not been cut short, nobody would be saved. But for the sake of the elect, those days will be cut short.
CPDV Then if anyone will have said to you, ‘Behold, here is the Christ,’ or ‘he is there,’ do not be willing to believe it. BSB BSB: At that time, if anyone says to you, ‘Look, here is the Christ!’ or ‘There He is!’ do not believe it.
CPDV For there will arise false Christs and false prophets. And they will produce great signs and wonders, so much so as to lead into error even the elect (if this could be). 25 CPDV Behold, I have warned you beforehand. BSB BSB: See, I have told you in advance.
The Return of the Son of Man (Mark 13:24–27; Luke 21:25–28)
CPDV Therefore, if they will have said to you, ‘Behold, he is in the desert,’ do not choose to go out, or, ‘Behold, he is in the inner rooms,’ do not be willing to believe it. BSB BSB: So if they tell you, ‘There He is, in the wilderness,’ do not go out, or, ‘Here He is, in the inner rooms,’ do not believe it.
CPDV For just as lightning goes out from the east, and appears even in the west, so shall it be also at the advent of the Son of man. BSB BSB: For just as the lightning comes from the east and flashes as far as the west, so will be the coming of the Son of Man.
CPDV Wherever the body shall be, there also will the eagles be gathered together. BSB BSB: Wherever there is a carcass, there the vultures will gather.

CPDV For it will be just as it was in the days before the flood: eating and drinking, marrying and being given in marriage, even until that day when Noah entered into the ark. BSB BSB: For in the days before the flood, people were eating and drinking, marrying and giving in marriage, up to the day Noah entered the ark.

BSB BSB: But understand this: If the homeowner had known in which watch of the night the thief was coming, he would have kept watch and would not have let his house be broken into.
CPDV For this reason, you also must be prepared, for you do not know at what hour the Son of man will return. BSB BSB: For this reason, you also must be ready, because the Son of Man will come at an hour you do not expect.
CPDV Consider this: who is a faithful and prudent servant, who has been appointed by his lord over his family, to give them their portion in due time? BSB BSB: Who then is the faithful and wise servant, whom the master has put in charge of his household, to give the others their food at the proper time?
CPDV Blessed is that servant, if, when his lord has arrived, he shall find him doing so. BSB BSB: Blessed is that servant whose master finds him doing so when he returns.
CPDV Amen I say to you, he shall appoint him over all of his goods. BSB BSB: Truly I tell you, he will put him in charge of all his possessions.
