Sing to the LORD, All the Earth (1 Chronicles 16:23–36)
1 CPDV A Canticle of David himself, when the house was built after the captivity. Sing to the Lord a new song. Sing to the Lord, all the earth. BSB BSB: Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 CPDV Sing to the Lord and bless his name. Announce his salvation from day to day. BSB BSB: Sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim His salvation day after day.
3 CPDV Announce his glory among the Gentiles, his miracles among all peoples. BSB BSB: Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
4 CPDV For the Lord is great and greatly to be praised. He is terrible, beyond all gods. BSB BSB: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
5 CPDV For all the gods of the Gentiles are demons, but the Lord made the heavens. BSB BSB: For all the gods of the nations are idols, but it is the LORD who made the heavens.
6 CPDV Confession and beauty are in his sight. Sanctity and magnificence are in his sanctuary. BSB BSB: Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty fill His sanctuary.
7 CPDV Bring to the Lord, you natives of the nations, bring to the Lord glory and honor. BSB BSB: Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 CPDV Bring to the Lord glory for his name. Lift up sacrifices, and enter into his courts. BSB BSB: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and enter His courts.
9 CPDV Adore the Lord in his holy court. Let the entire earth be shaken before his face. BSB BSB: Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 CPDV Say among the Gentiles: The Lord has reigned. For he has even corrected the whole world, which will not be shaken. He will judge the peoples with fairness. BSB BSB: Declare among the nations: “The LORD reigns!” The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 CPDV Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth exult; let the sea and all its fullness be moved. BSB BSB: Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea resound, and all that fills it.
12 CPDV The fields and all the things that are in them will be glad. Then all the trees of the forest will rejoice BSB BSB: Let the fields exult, and all that is in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 CPDV before the face of the Lord: for he arrives. For he arrives to judge the earth. He will judge the whole world with fairness and the peoples with his truth. BSB BSB: before the LORD, for He is coming—He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness.
