Let the Earth Rejoice 1 CPDV This is to David, when his land was restored to him. The Lord has reigned, let the earth exult. Let the many islands rejoice. BSB BSB: The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the distant shores be glad.
2 CPDV Clouds and mist are all around him. Justice and judgment are corrections from his throne. BSB BSB: Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are His throne’s foundation.
3 CPDV A fire will precede him, and it will enflame his enemies all around. BSB BSB: Fire goes before Him and consumes His foes on every side.
4 CPDV His lightnings have enlightened the whole world. The earth saw, and it was shaken. BSB BSB: His lightning illuminates the world; the earth sees and trembles.
5 CPDV The mountains flowed like wax before the face of the Lord, before the face of the Lord of all the earth. BSB BSB: The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 CPDV The heavens announced his justice, and all peoples saw his glory. BSB BSB: The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory.
7 CPDV May all those who adore graven images be confounded, along with those who glory in their false images. All you his Angels: Adore him. BSB BSB: All worshipers of images are put to shame—those who boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!
8 CPDV Zion heard, and was glad. And the daughters of Judah exulted because of your judgments, O Lord. BSB BSB: Zion hears and rejoices, and the towns of Judah exult because of Your judgments, O LORD.
9 CPDV For you are the Most High Lord over all the earth. You are greatly exalted above all gods. BSB BSB: For You, O LORD, are Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.
10 CPDV You who love the Lord: hate evil. The Lord watches over the souls of his holy ones. He will free them from the hand of the sinner. BSB BSB: Hate evil, O you who love the LORD! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 CPDV The light has risen for the just, and joy for the upright of heart. BSB BSB: Light shines on the righteous, gladness on the upright in heart.
12 CPDV Rejoice in the Lord, you just ones, and confess to the memory of his sanctuary. BSB BSB: Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones, and praise His holy name.
