4Noah; Shem, Ham, and Japheth.The sons of Noah: Shem, Ham, and Japheth.

5The sons of Japheth: Gomer, and Magog, and Madai, and Javan, and Tubal, and Meshech, and Tiras.The sons of Japheth: Gomer, Magog, Madai, Javan, Tubal, Meshech, and Tiras.

6— And the sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, and Diphath, and Togarmah.The sons of Gomer: Ashkenaz, Riphath, and Togarmah.

7And the sons of Javan: Elishah and Tarshish, Kittim and Rodanim.And the sons of Javan: Elishah, Tarshish, the Kittites, and the Rodanites.

8The sons of Ham: Cush and Mizraim, Phut and Canaan.The sons of Ham: Cush, Mizraim, Put, and Canaan.

9— And the sons of Cush: Seba and Havilah, and Sabta, and Raama, and Sabtecha. And the sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.The sons of Cush: Seba, Havilah, Sabta, Raamah, and Sabteca. The sons of Raamah: Sheba and Dedan.

10And Cush begot Nimrod: he began to be mighty on the earth.Cush was the father of Nimrod, who began to be a mighty one on the earth.

11— And Mizraim begot the Ludim, and the Anamim, and the Lehabim, and the Naphtuhim,Mizraim was the father of the Ludites, the Anamites, the Lehabites, the Naphtuhites,

12and the Pathrusim, and the Casluhim out of whom came the Philistines, and the Caphtorim.the Pathrusites, the Casluhites (from whom the Philistines came), and the Caphtorites.

13— And Canaan begot Zidon his firstborn, and Heth,And Canaan was the father of Sidon his firstborn, and of the Hittites,

14and the Jebusite, and the Amorite, and the Girgashite,the Jebusites, the Amorites, the Girgashites,

15and the Hivite, and the Arkite, and the Sinite,the Hivites, the Arkites, the Sinites,

16and the Arvadite, and the Zemarite, and the Hamathite.the Arvadites, the Zemarites, and the Hamathites.

17The sons of Shem: Elam, and Asshur, and Arphaxad, and Lud, and Aram, and Uz, and Hul, and Gether, and Meshech.The sons of Shem: Elam, Asshur, Arphaxad, Lud, and Aram. The sons of Aram: Uz, Hul, Gether, and Meshech.

18— And Arphaxad begot Shelah, and Shelah begot Eber.Arphaxad was the father of Shelah, and Shelah was the father of Eber.

19And to Eber were born two sons: the name of the one was Peleg, for in his days was the earth divided; and his brother's name was Joktan.Two sons were born to Eber: One was named Peleg, because in his days the earth was divided, and his brother was named Joktan.

20And Joktan begot Almodad, and Sheleph, and Hazarmaveth, and Jerah,And Joktan was the father of Almodad, Sheleph, Hazarmaveth, Jerah,

21and Hadoram, and Uzal, and Diklah,Hadoram, Uzal, Diklah,

22and Ebal, and Abimael, and Sheba,Obal, Abimael, Sheba,

23and Ophir, and Havilah, and Jobab: all these were sons of Joktan.Ophir, Havilah, and Jobab. All these were sons of Joktan.

24Shem, Arphaxad, Shelah,So from Shem came Arphaxad, Shelah,

27Abram: the same is Abraham.and Abram (that is, Abraham).

28The sons of Abraham: Isaac and Ishmael.The sons of Abraham were Isaac and Ishmael.

29These are their generations: the firstborn of Ishmael, Nebaioth; and Kedar, and Adbeel, and Mibsam;These are their genealogies: Nebaioth the firstborn of Ishmael, then Kedar, Adbeel, Mibsam,

30Mishma and Dumah; Massa, Hadad, and Tema;Mishma, Dumah, Massa, Hadad, Tema,

31Jetur, Naphish, and Kedmah: those are the sons of Ishmael.Jetur, Naphish, and Kedemah. These were the sons of Ishmael.

32— And the sons of Keturah, Abraham's concubine: she bore Zimran, and Jokshan, and Medan, and Midian, and Ishbak, and Shuah. And the sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.The sons born to Keturah, Abraham’s concubine: Zimran, Jokshan, Medan, Midian, Ishbak, and Shuah. The sons of Jokshan: Sheba and Dedan.

33And the sons of Midian: Ephah, and Epher, and Enoch, and Abida, and Eldaah. All these were sons of Keturah.The sons of Midian: Ephah, Epher, Hanoch, Abida, and Eldaah. All of these were Keturah’s sons.

34And Abraham begot Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.Abraham was the father of Isaac. The sons of Isaac: Esau and Israel.

35The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, and Jeush, and Jaalam, and Korah.The sons of Esau: Eliphaz, Reuel, Jeush, Jalam, and Korah.

36— The sons of Eliphaz: Teman and Omar, Zephi and Gatam, Kenaz, and Timna, and Amalek.The sons of Eliphaz: Teman, Omar, Zepho, Gatam, and Kenaz; and by Timna, Amalek.

37The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.The sons of Reuel: Nahath, Zerah, Shammah, and Mizzah.

38And the sons of Seir: Lotan, and Shobal, and Zibeon, and Anah, and Dishon, and Ezer, and Dishan.The sons of Seir: Lotan, Shobal, Zibeon, Anah, Dishon, Ezer, and Dishan.

39— And the sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. And Lotan's sister, Timna.The sons of Lotan: Hori and Homam. Timna was Lotan’s sister.

40— The sons of Shobal: Alian, and Manahath, and Ebal, Shephi and Onam. — And the sons of Zibeon: Ajah and Anah.The sons of Shobal: Alvan, Manahath, Ebal, Shepho, and Onam. The sons of Zibeon: Aiah and Anah.

41— The sons of Anah: Dishon. — And the sons of Dishon: Hamran, and Eshban, and Jithran, and Cheran.The son of Anah: Dishon. The sons of Dishon: Hemdan, Eshban, Ithran, and Cheran.

42— The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, and Zaavan, and Jaakan. — The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.The sons of Ezer: Bilhan, Zaavan, and Akan. The sons of Dishan: Uz and Aran.

43And these are the kings that reigned in the land of Edom before there reigned a king over the children of Israel: — Bela the son of Beor; and the name of his city was Dinhabah.These are the kings who reigned in the land of Edom before any king reigned over the Israelites: Bela son of Beor. His city was named Dinhabah.

44And Bela died; and Jobab the son of Zerah of Bozrah reigned in his stead.When Bela died, Jobab son of Zerah from Bozrah reigned in his place.

45And Jobab died; and Husham of the land of the Temanites reigned in his stead.When Jobab died, Husham from the land of the Temanites reigned in his place.

46And Husham died; and Hadad the son of Bedad, who smote Midian in the fields of Moab, reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Avith.When Husham died, Hadad son of Bedad, who defeated Midian in the country of Moab, reigned in his place. And the name of his city was Avith.

47And Hadad died; and Samlah of Masrekah reigned in his stead.When Hadad died, Samlah from Masrekah reigned in his place.

48And Samlah died; and Saul of Rehoboth on the river reigned in his stead.When Samlah died, Shaul from Rehoboth on the Euphrates reigned in his place.

49And Saul died; and Baal-hanan the son of Achbor reigned in his stead.When Shaul died, Baal-hanan son of Achbor reigned in his place.

50And Baal-hanan died; and Hadad reigned in his stead: and the name of his city was Pai; and his wife's name was Mehetabel the daughter of Matred, daughter of Mezahab.When Baal-hanan died, Hadad reigned in his place. His city was named Pau, and his wife’s name was Mehetabel daughter of Matred, the daughter of Me-zahab.

51And Hadad died. And the chiefs of Edom were: chief Timna, chief Aliah, chief Jetheth,Then Hadad died. Now the chiefs of Edom were Timna, Alvah, Jetheth,

52chief Oholibamah, chief Elah, chief Pinon,Oholibamah, Elah, Pinon,

53chief Kenaz, chief Teman, chief Mibzar,Kenaz, Teman, Mibzar,

54chief Magdiel, chief Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.Magdiel, and Iram. These were the chiefs of Edom.
