Psalm 141 141 Psalms Book 5 Darby Translation Come Quickly to Me (Psalm 70:1–5)
DBY A Psalm of David. Jehovah, I have called upon thee: make haste unto me; give ear unto my voice, when I call unto thee. BSB BSB: A Psalm of David. I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.
DBY Let my prayer be set forth before thee as incense, the lifting up of my hands as the evening oblation. BSB BSB: May my prayer be set before You like incense; my uplifted hands, like the evening offering.
DBY Set a watch, O Jehovah, before my mouth; keep the door of my lips. BSB BSB: Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
DBY Incline not my heart to any evil thing, to practise deeds of wickedness with men that are workers of iniquity; and let me not eat of their dainties. BSB BSB: Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on their delicacies.
DBY Let the righteous smite me, it is kindness; and let him reprove me, it is an excellent oil which my head shall not refuse: for yet my prayer also is for them in their calamities. BSB BSB: Let the righteous man strike me; let his rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.
DBY When their judges are thrown down from the rocks, they shall hear my words, for they are sweet. BSB BSB: When their rulers are thrown down from the cliffs, the people will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.
DBY Our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol, as when one cutteth and cleaveth wood upon the earth. BSB BSB: As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
DBY For unto thee, Jehovah, Lord, are mine eyes; in thee do I trust: leave not my soul destitute. BSB BSB: But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.
DBY Keep me from the snare which they have laid for me, and from the traps of the workers of iniquity. BSB BSB: Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.
DBY Let the wicked fall into their own nets, whilst that I withal pass over. BSB BSB: Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
