The Descendants of David (2 Samuel 3:1–5)
1 DRA Now these were the sons of David that were born to him in Hebron: the firstborn Amnon of Achinoam the Jezrahelitess, the second Daniel of Abigail the Carmelitess. 2 DRA The third Absalom the son of Maacha the daughter of Tolmai king of Gessur, the fourth Adonias the son of Aggith, BSB BSB: the third was Absalom the son of Maacah daughter of King Talmai of Geshur; the fourth was Adonijah the son of Haggith;
3 DRA The fifth Saphatias of Abital, the sixth Jethrahem of Egla, his wife. BSB BSB: the fifth was Shephatiah by Abital; and the sixth was Ithream by his wife Eglah.
4 DRA So six sons were born to him in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months. And in Jerusalem he reigned three and thirty years. BSB BSB: These six sons were born to David in Hebron, where he reigned seven years and six months. And David reigned in Jerusalem thirty-three years,
5 DRA And these sons were born to him in Jerusalem: Simmaa, and Sobab, and Nathan, and Solomon, four of Bethsabee the daughter of Ammiel. BSB BSB: and these sons were born to him in Jerusalem: Shimea, Shobab, Nathan, and Solomon. These four were born to him by Bathsheba daughter of Ammiel.
6 DRA Jebaar also and Elisama, BSB BSB: David’s other sons were Ibhar, Elishua, Eliphelet,
7 DRA And Eliphaleeh, and Noge, and Nepheg, and Japhia, BSB BSB: Nogah, Nepheg, Japhia,
8 DRA And Elisama, and Eliada, and Elipheleth, nine: BSB BSB: Elishama, Eliada, and Eliphelet—nine in all.
9 DRA All these the sons of David, beside the sons of the concubines: and they had a sister Thamar. BSB BSB: These were all the sons of David, besides the sons by his concubines. And Tamar was their sister.
The Descendants of Solomon 10 DRA And Solomon’s son was Roboam: whose son Abia beget Asa. And his son was Josaphat, BSB BSB: Solomon’s son was Rehoboam: Abijah was his son, Asa his son, Jehoshaphat his son,
12 DRA And his son Amasias begot Azarias. And Joathan the son of Azarias BSB BSB: Amaziah his son, Azariah his son, Jotham his son,
13 DRA Beget Achaz, the father of Ezechias, of whom was born Manasses. BSB BSB: Ahaz his son, Hezekiah his son, Manasseh his son,
14 DRA And Manasses beget Amen the father of Josias. BSB BSB: Amon his son, and Josiah his son.
15 DRA And the sons of Josias were, the firstborn Johanan, the second Joakim, the third Sedecias, the fourth Sellum. BSB BSB: The sons of Josiah: Johanan was the firstborn, Jehoiakim the second, Zedekiah the third, and Shallum the fourth.
16 DRA Of Joakim was born Jechonias, and Sedecias. BSB BSB: The successors of Jehoiakim: Jeconiah his son, and Zedekiah.
The Royal Line After the Exile 17 DRA The sons of Jechonias were Asir, Salathiel, BSB BSB: The descendants of Jeconiah the captive: Shealtiel his son,
18 DRA Melchiram, Phadaia, Senneser and Jecemia, Sama, and Nadabia. BSB BSB: Malchiram, Pedaiah, Shenazzar, Jekamiah, Hoshama, and Nedabiah.
19 DRA Of Phadaia were born Zorobabel and Semei. Zorobabel beget Mosollam, Hananias, and Salomith their sister: BSB BSB: The sons of Pedaiah: Zerubbabel and Shimei. The children of Zerubbabel: Meshullam and Hananiah, their sister Shelomith,
20 DRA Hasaba also, and Ohol, and Barachias, and Hasadias, Josabhesed, five. BSB BSB: and five others: Hashubah, Ohel, Berechiah, Hasadiah, and Jushab-hesed.
21 DRA And the son of Hananias was Phaltias the father of Jeseias, whose son was Raphaia. And his son was Arnan, of whom was born Obdia, whose son was Sechenias. BSB BSB: The descendants of Hananiah: Pelatiah, Jeshaiah, and the sons of Rephaiah, of Arnan, of Obadiah, and of Shecaniah.
22 DRA The son of Sechenias, was Semeia, whose sons were Hattus, and Jegaal, and Baria, and Naaria, and Saphat, six in number. BSB BSB: The six descendants of Shecaniah were Shemaiah and his sons: Hattush, Igal, Bariah, Neariah, and Shaphat.
23 DRA The sons of Naaria, Elioenai, and Ezechias, and Ezricam, three. BSB BSB: The sons of Neariah: Elioenai, Hizkiah, and Azrikam—three in all.
24 DRA The sons of Elioenai, Oduia, and Eliasub, and Pheleia, and Accub, and Johanan, and Dalaia, and Anani, seven. BSB BSB: The sons of Elioenai: Hodaviah, Eliashib, Pelaiah, Akkub, Johanan, Delaiah, and Anani—seven in all.
