Redeem Us, O God (Romans 8:35–39)
DRA Unto the end, for the sons of Core, to give understanding. We have heard, O God, with our ears: our fathers have declared to us, The work, thou hast wrought in their days, and in the days of old. BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. A Maskil of the sons of Korah. We have heard with our ears, O God; our fathers have told us the work You did in their days, in the days of old.
DRA Thy hand destroyed the Gentiles, and thou plantedst them: thou didst afflict the people and cast them out. BSB BSB: With Your hand You drove out the nations and planted our fathers there; You crushed the peoples and cast them out.
DRA For they got not the possession of the land by their own sword: neither did their own arm save them. But thy right hand and thy arm, and the light of thy countenance: because thou wast pleased with them. BSB BSB: For it was not by their sword that they took the land; their arm did not bring them victory. It was by Your right hand, Your arm, and the light of Your face, because You favored them.
DRA Thou art thyself my king and my God, who commandest the saving of Jacob. BSB BSB: You are my King, O God, who ordains victories for Jacob.
DRA Through thee we will push down our enemies with the horn: and through thy name we will despise them that rise up against us. BSB BSB: Through You we repel our foes; through Your name we trample our enemies.

DRA But thou hast saved us from them that afflict us: and hast put them to shame that hate us. BSB BSB: For You save us from our enemies; You put those who hate us to shame.
DRA In God shall we glory all the day long: and in thy name we will give praise for ever. BSB BSB: In God we have boasted all day long, and Your name we will praise forever. Selah
DRA But now thou hast cast us off, and put us to shame: and thou, O God, wilt not go out with our armies. BSB BSB: But You have rejected and humbled us; You no longer go forth with our armies.
DRA Thou hast made us turn our back to our enemies: and they that hated us plundered for themselves. BSB BSB: You have made us retreat from the foe, and those who hate us have plundered us.
DRA Thou hast given us up like sheep to be eaten: thou hast scattered us among the nations. BSB BSB: You have given us up as sheep to be devoured; You have scattered us among the nations.

DRA Thou hast made us a byword among the Gentiles: a shaking of the head among the people. BSB BSB: You have made us a byword among the nations, a laughingstock among the peoples.
DRA All the day long my shame is before me: and the confusion of my face hath covered me, BSB BSB: All day long my disgrace is before me, and shame has covered my face,
DRA At the voice of him that reproacheth and detracteth me: at the face of the enemy and persecutor. BSB BSB: at the voice of the scorner and reviler, because of the enemy, bent on revenge.
DRA All these things have come upon us, yet we have not forgotten thee: and we have not done wickedly in they covenant. BSB BSB: All this has come upon us, though we have not forgotten You or betrayed Your covenant.

DRA If we have forgotten the name of our God, and if we have spread forth our hands to a strange god: BSB BSB: If we had forgotten the name of our God or spread out our hands to a foreign god,
DRA Shall not God search out these things: for he knoweth the secrets of the heart. Because for thy sake we are killed all the day long: we are counted as sheep for the slaughter. BSB BSB: would not God have discovered, since He knows the secrets of the heart?
DRA Arise, why sleepest thou, O Lord? arise, and cast us not off to the end. BSB BSB: Wake up, O Lord! Why are You sleeping? Arise! Do not reject us forever.
