Sing to the LORD, All the Earth (1 Chronicles 16:23–36)
1 DRA A canticle for David himself, when the house was built after the captivity. Sing ye to the Lord a new canticle: sing to the Lord, all the earth. BSB BSB: Sing to the LORD a new song; sing to the LORD, all the earth.
2 DRA Sing ye to the Lord and bless his name: shew forth his salvation from day to day. BSB BSB: Sing to the LORD, bless His name; proclaim His salvation day after day.
3 DRA Declare his glory among the Gentiles: his wonders among all people. BSB BSB: Declare His glory among the nations, His wonders among all peoples.
4 DRA For the Lord is great, and exceedingly to be praised: he is to be feared above all gods. BSB BSB: For great is the LORD, and greatly to be praised; He is to be feared above all gods.
5 DRA For all the gods of the Gentiles are devils: but the Lord made the heavens. BSB BSB: For all the gods of the nations are idols, but it is the LORD who made the heavens.
6 DRA Praise and beauty are before him: holiness and majesty in his sanctuary. BSB BSB: Splendor and majesty are before Him; strength and beauty fill His sanctuary.
7 DRA Bring ye to the Lord, O ye kindreds of the Gentiles, bring ye to the Lord glory and honour: BSB BSB: Ascribe to the LORD, O families of the nations, ascribe to the LORD glory and strength.
8 DRA Bring to the Lord glory unto his name. Bring up sacrifices, and come into his courts: BSB BSB: Ascribe to the LORD the glory due His name; bring an offering and enter His courts.
9 DRA Adore ye the Lord in his holy court. Let all the earth be moved at his presence. BSB BSB: Worship the LORD in the splendor of His holiness; tremble before Him, all the earth.
10 DRA Say ye among the Gentiles, the Lord hath reigned. For he hath corrected the world, which shall not be moved: he will judge the people with justice. BSB BSB: Declare among the nations: “The LORD reigns!” The world is firmly established; it cannot be moved; He will judge the peoples with equity.
11 DRA Let the heavens rejoice, and let the earth be glad, let the sea be moved, and the fulness thereof: BSB BSB: Let the heavens be glad and the earth rejoice; let the sea resound, and all that fills it.
12 DRA The fields and all things that are in them shall be joyful. Then shall all the trees of the woods rejoice BSB BSB: Let the fields exult, and all that is in them. Then all the trees of the forest will sing for joy
13 DRA Before the face of the Lord, because he cometh: because he cometh to judge the earth. He shall judge the world with justice, and the people with his truth. BSB BSB: before the LORD, for He is coming—He is coming to judge the earth. He will judge the world in righteousness and the peoples in His faithfulness.
