Psalm 63 63 Psalms Book 2 Unlocked Dynamic Bible Thirsting for God (2 Samuel 15:30–37)
UDB God, you are the God whom I worship. I greatly desire to be with you as a person in a dry, hot wilderness greatly desires some water. BSB BSB: A Psalm of David, when he was in the Wilderness of Judah. O God, You are my God. Earnestly I seek You; my soul thirsts for You. My body yearns for You in a dry and weary land without water.
UDB I have been with you in your temple In order to see that you are loving and powerful. BSB BSB: So I have seen You in the sanctuary and beheld Your power and glory.
UDB You always love me, as you promised in your covenant; this is worth more than my entire life, so I will always praise you. BSB BSB: Because Your loving devotion is better than life, my lips will glorify You.
UDB I will praise you all the time that I live; I will lift up my hands to you while I pray. BSB BSB: So I will bless You as long as I live; in Your name I will lift my hands.
UDB You fill me up and you meet every need I have. My response to you is much like when I eat a delicious banquet of rich foods and the food fills me. I will have great happiness when I praise you with the words that I speak about you. BSB BSB: My soul is satisfied as with the richest of foods; with joyful lips my mouth will praise You.
UDB While I lie on my bed, I think about you. I think about you all during the night. BSB BSB: When I remember You on my bed, I think of You through the watches of the night.
UDB For you have always helped me, and I sing joyfully knowing that you protect me as a bird protects her young under her wings. BSB BSB: For You are my help; I will sing for joy in the shadow of Your wings.
UDB I follow you closely, and your hand protects me. BSB BSB: My soul clings to You; Your right hand upholds me.
UDB But those who are trying to kill me will die and descend into the place of the dead; BSB BSB: But those who seek my life to destroy it will go into the depths of the earth.
UDB they will be killed in battles and their corpses will be eaten by dogs. BSB BSB: They will fall to the power of the sword; they will become a portion for foxes.
UDB But I, the king of Israel, will rejoice in what God has done; and all those who ask God to confirm their word will praise him, but he will not allow liars to say anything. BSB BSB: But the king will rejoice in God; all who swear by Him will exult, for the mouths of liars will be shut.
