UEB (But Jesus said this to test Philip, for he himself knew what he was going to do.) BSB BSB: But He was asking this to test him, for He knew what He was about to do.
UEB Philip answered him, "Two hundred denarii worth of bread would not be sufficient for each one to have even a little." BSB BSB: Philip answered, “Two hundred denarii would not buy enough bread for each of them to have a small piece.”

UEB Jesus said, "Make the people sit down." (Now there was a lot of grass in the place.) So the men sat down, about five thousand in number. BSB BSB: “Have the people sit down,” Jesus said. Now there was plenty of grass in that place, so the men sat down, about five thousand of them.
UEB Then Jesus took the loaves and after giving thanks, he gave it to those who were sitting. He did the same with the fish, as much as they wanted. BSB BSB: Then Jesus took the loaves and the fish, gave thanks, and distributed to those who were seated as much as they wanted.
UEB When the people were filled, he said to his disciples, "Gather up the broken pieces which remain, so that nothing will be lost." BSB BSB: And when everyone was full, He said to His disciples, “Gather the pieces that are left over, so that nothing will be wasted.”

BSB BSB: The next day, the crowd that had remained on the other side of the sea realized that only one boat had been there, and that Jesus had not boarded it with His disciples, but they had gone away alone.
UEB However, there were some boats that came from Tiberias close to the place where they had eaten the bread loaves after the Lord had given thanks. BSB BSB: However, some boats from Tiberias landed near the place where the people had eaten the bread after the Lord had given thanks.

BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “Truly, truly, I tell you, it is not because you saw these signs that you are looking for Me, but because you ate the loaves and had your fill.
UEB Do not work for the food that perishes, but work for the food that endures to eternal life which the Son of Man will give you, for God the Father has set his seal on him." BSB BSB: Do not work for food that perishes, but for food that endures to eternal life, which the Son of Man will give you. For on Him God the Father has placed His seal of approval.”

UEB Jesus replied and said to them, "This is the work of God: That you believe in the one whom he has sent." BSB BSB: Jesus replied, “The work of God is this: to believe in the One He has sent.”
UEB So they said to him, "What sign then will you do, so that we may see and believe you? What will you do? BSB BSB: So they asked Him, “What sign then will You perform, so that we may see it and believe You? What will You do?

UEB For this is the will of my Father, that everyone who sees the Son and believes in him would have eternal life and I will raise him up on the last day." BSB BSB: For it is My Father’s will that everyone who looks to the Son and believes in Him shall have eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.”

UEB They said, "Is not this Jesus son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then does he now say, 'I have come down from heaven'?" BSB BSB: They were asking, “Is this not Jesus, the son of Joseph, whose father and mother we know? How then can He say, ‘I have come down from heaven’?”
UEB Jesus replied and said to them, "Stop grumbling among yourselves. BSB BSB: “Stop grumbling among yourselves,” Jesus replied.

UEB Then Jesus said to them, "Truly, truly, unless you eat the flesh of the Son of Man and drink his blood, you will not have life in yourselves. BSB BSB: So Jesus said to them, “Truly, truly, I tell you, unless you eat the flesh and drink the blood of the Son of Man, you have no life in you.
UEB Whoever eats my flesh and drinks my blood has everlasting life, and I will raise him up at the last day. BSB BSB: Whoever eats My flesh and drinks My blood has eternal life, and I will raise him up at the last day.
UEB For my flesh is true food, and my blood is true drink. BSB BSB: For My flesh is real food, and My blood is real drink.

UEB As the living Father sent me, and as I live because of the Father, so he who eats me, he will also live because of me. BSB BSB: Just as the living Father sent Me and I live because of the Father, so also the one who feeds on Me will live because of Me.
UEB This is the bread that has come down from heaven, not as the fathers ate and died. He who eats this bread will live forever." BSB BSB: This is the bread that came down from heaven. Unlike your fathers, who ate the manna and died, the one who eats this bread will live forever.”
