UEB Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil, because of the Son of Man. BSB BSB: Blessed are you when people hate you, and when they exclude you and insult you and reject your name as evil because of the Son of Man.
UEB Rejoice in that day and leap for joy, because you will surely have a great reward in heaven, for their ancestors treated the prophets in the same way. 28 UEB Bless those who curse you and pray for those who mistreat you. BSB BSB: bless those who curse you, pray for those who mistreat you.
UEB To him who strikes you on the one cheek, offer him also the other. If someone takes away your coat, do not withhold your tunic either. BSB BSB: If someone strikes you on one cheek, turn to him the other also. And if someone takes your cloak, do not withhold your tunic as well.
UEB Give to everyone who asks you. If someone takes away something that belongs to you, do not ask him to give it back to you. BSB BSB: Give to everyone who asks you, and if anyone takes what is yours, do not demand it back.
UEB As you want people to do to you, you should do the same to them. BSB BSB: Do to others as you would have them do to you.
UEB If you only love people who love you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners love those who love them. BSB BSB: If you love those who love you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners love those who love them.
UEB If you do good only to people who do good to you, what credit is that to you? For even sinners do the same. BSB BSB: If you do good to those who do good to you, what credit is that to you? Even sinners do the same.
UEB If you only lend to people from whom you expect to be repaid, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, to get back the same amount. BSB BSB: And if you lend to those from whom you expect repayment, what credit is that to you? Even sinners lend to sinners, expecting to be repaid in full.
UEB But love your enemies and do good to them. Lend, expecting nothing in return, and your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High, for he himself is kind toward unthankful and evil people. BSB BSB: But love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them, expecting nothing in return. Then your reward will be great, and you will be sons of the Most High; for He is kind to the ungrateful and wicked.

UEB Why do you look at the tiny piece of straw that is in your brother's eye, but you do not notice the log that is in your own eye? BSB BSB: Why do you look at the speck in your brother’s eye but fail to notice the beam in your own eye?
UEB How can you say to your brother, 'Brother, let me take out the piece of straw that is in your eye,' when you yourself do not even see the log that is in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the log out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to take out the piece of straw that is in your brother's eye. BSB BSB: How can you say, ‘Brother, let me take the speck out of your eye,’ while you yourself fail to see the beam in your own eye? You hypocrite! First take the beam out of your own eye, and then you will see clearly to remove the speck from your brother’s eye.

UEB For each tree is known by the kind of fruit it produces. For people do not gather figs from a thornbush, nor do they gather grapes from a briar bush. BSB BSB: For each tree is known by its own fruit. Indeed, figs are not gathered from thornbushes, nor grapes from brambles.
UEB The good man from the good treasure of his heart produces what is good, and the evil man from the evil treasure of his heart produces what is evil. For out of the abundance of the heart his mouth speaks. BSB BSB: The good man brings good things out of the good treasure of his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil treasure of his heart. For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.
The House on the Rock (Matthew 7:24–27)
UEB Why do you call me, 'Lord, Lord,' and yet you do not obey the things that I say? BSB BSB: Why do you call Me ‘Lord, Lord,’ but do not do what I say?
UEB Every person who comes to me and hears my words and obeys them, I will tell you what he is like. BSB BSB: I will show you what he is like who comes to Me and hears My words and acts on them:
UEB He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep in the ground and built the house's foundation on solid rock. When a flood came, the torrent of water flowed against that house, but could not shake it, because it had been well built. BSB BSB: He is like a man building a house, who dug down deep and laid his foundation on the rock. When the flood came, the torrent crashed against that house but could not shake it, because it was well built.
UEB But the person who hears my words and does not obey them, he is like a man who built a house on top of the ground without a foundation. When the torrent of water flowed against that house, it immediately collapsed, and the ruin of that house was complete." BSB BSB: But the one who hears My words and does not act on them is like a man who built his house on ground without a foundation. The torrent crashed against that house, and immediately it fell—and great was its destruction!”
