Psalm 2 2 Psalms Book 1 Unlocked English Bible The Triumphant Messiah (Acts 4:23–31)
UEB Why are the nations in turmoil, and why do the peoples make plots that will fail? BSB BSB: Why do the nations rage and the peoples plot in vain?
UEB The kings of the earth take their stand together and the rulers conspire together against Yahweh and against his Messiah, saying, BSB BSB: The kings of the earth take their stand and the rulers gather together, against the LORD and against His Anointed One:
UEB "Let us tear off the shackles they put on us and throw off their chains." BSB BSB: “Let us break Their chains and cast away Their cords.”
UEB He who sits in the heavens will sneer at them; the Lord mocks them. BSB BSB: The One enthroned in heaven laughs; the Lord taunts them.
UEB Then he will speak to them in his anger and terrify them in his rage, saying, BSB BSB: Then He rebukes them in His anger, and terrifies them in His fury:
UEB "I myself have anointed my king on Zion, my holy mountain." BSB BSB: “I have installed My King on Zion, upon My holy mountain.”
UEB I will announce a decree of Yahweh. He said to me, "You are my son! This day I have become your father. BSB BSB: I will proclaim the decree spoken to Me by the LORD: “You are My Son; today I have become Your Father.
UEB Ask me, and I will give you the nations for your inheritance and the farthermost regions of the earth for your possession. BSB BSB: Ask Me, and I will make the nations Your inheritance, the ends of the earth Your possession.
UEB You will break them with an iron rod; like a jar of a potter, you will smash them to pieces." BSB BSB: You will break them with an iron scepter; You will shatter them like pottery.”
UEB So now, you kings, be warned; be corrected, you rulers of the earth. BSB BSB: Therefore be wise, O kings; be admonished, O judges of the earth.
UEB Worship Yahweh in fear and rejoice with trembling. BSB BSB: Serve the LORD with fear, and rejoice with trembling.
UEB Kiss the son or he will be angry with you, and you will die in the way when his anger burns for just a moment. How blessed are all those who seek refuge in him. BSB BSB: Kiss the Son, lest He be angry and you perish in your rebellion, when His wrath ignites in an instant. Blessed are all who take refuge in Him.
