Evil in the Last Days 1 ULT But know this, that in the last days difficult times will be present. BSB BSB: But understand this: In the last days terrible times will come.
2 ULT For the men will be lovers of self, lovers of money, boastful, proud, blasphemous, disobedient to parents, ungrateful, unholy, BSB BSB: For men will be lovers of themselves, lovers of money, boastful, arrogant, abusive, disobedient to their parents, ungrateful, unholy,
3 ULT unloving, irreconcilable, slanderous, unrestrained, savage, not lovers of the good, BSB BSB: unloving, unforgiving, slanderous, without self-control, brutal, without love of good,
4 ULT traitors, reckless, puffed up, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God, BSB BSB: traitorous, reckless, conceited, lovers of pleasure rather than lovers of God,
6 ULT For from these are the ones entering into households and taking captive little women having been heaped with sins, being led away by various desires, BSB BSB: They are the kind who worm their way into households and captivate vulnerable women who are weighed down with sins and led astray by various passions,
7 ULT always learning, and never being able to come to knowledge of the truth. BSB BSB: who are always learning but never able to come to a knowledge of the truth.
8 ULT And the way Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these oppose the truth, men having been corrupted{ in} the mind, unapproved concerning the faith. BSB BSB: Just as Jannes and Jambres opposed Moses, so also these men oppose the truth. They are depraved in mind and disqualified from the faith.
9 ULT But they will not advance further, for their foolishness will be obvious to all, as also that of those became. BSB BSB: But they will not advance much further. For just like Jannes and Jambres, their folly will be plain to everyone.

10 ULT But you have followed my teaching, conduct, purpose, faith, patience, love, endurance, BSB BSB: You, however, have observed my teaching, my conduct, my purpose, my faith, my patience, my love, my perseverance,
11 ULT persecutions, sufferings, such as happened to me in Antioch, in Iconium, in Lystra, what kind of persecutions I endured. And the Lord rescued me from{ them} all. BSB BSB: my persecutions, and the sufferings that came upon me in Antioch, Iconium, and Lystra. What persecutions I endured! Yet the Lord rescued me from all of them.
12 ULT But also, all the ones wanting to live godly in Christ Jesus will be persecuted. BSB BSB: Indeed, all who desire to live godly lives in Christ Jesus will be persecuted,
13 ULT But evil men and impostors will advance to the worse, leading astray and being led astray. BSB BSB: while evil men and imposters go from bad to worse, deceiving and being deceived.
14 ULT But you, remain in what you learned and were convinced of, knowing from whom you learned, BSB BSB: But as for you, continue in the things you have learned and firmly believed, since you know from whom you have learned them.
15 ULT and that from infancy you have known the sacred writings, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith{ that is} in Christ Jesus. BSB BSB: From infancy you have known the Holy Scriptures, which are able to make you wise for salvation through faith in Christ Jesus.
17 ULT so that the man of God may be complete, having been equipped for every good work. BSB BSB: so that the man of God may be complete, fully equipped for every good work.
