ULT Then he said,“Please take your son, your only{ son} whom you love, Isaac, and go yourself to the land of Moriah, and sacrifice him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains that I will tell to you.” BSB BSB: “Take your son,” God said, “your only son Isaac, whom you love, and go to the land of Moriah. Offer him there as a burnt offering on one of the mountains, which I will show you.” 3 ULT So Abraham got up early in the morning and saddled his donkey. Then he took two of his young men with him and Isaac his son, and he cut wood for the burnt offering. Then he got up and left for the place that God had told to him. BSB BSB: So Abraham got up early the next morning, saddled his donkey, and took along two of his servants and his son Isaac. He split the wood for a burnt offering and set out for the place God had designated.
ULT On the third day Abraham lifted his eyes and he saw the place from a distance. BSB BSB: On the third day Abraham looked up and saw the place in the distance.
ULT and Isaac spoke to Abraham his father and said,“My father?” And he said,“Behold me, my son.” Then he said,“Behold the fire and the wood, but where{ is} the lamb for the burnt offering?” BSB BSB: Then Isaac said to his father Abraham, “My father!” “Here I am, my son,” he replied. “The fire and the wood are here,” said Isaac, “but where is the lamb for the burnt offering?”
ULT Then they came to the place that God had told to him, and there Abraham built the altar and arranged the wood. Then he bound Isaac his son and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. BSB BSB: When they arrived at the place God had designated, Abraham built the altar there and arranged the wood. He bound his son Isaac and placed him on the altar, atop the wood.

The LORD Provides the Sacrifice 12 ULT Then he said,“Do not reach out your hand against the boy! And{ do} not do anything to him, because now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your son, your only{ son}, from me.” BSB BSB: “Do not lay a hand on the boy or do anything to him,” said the angel, “for now I know that you fear God, since you have not withheld your only son from me.”
ULT Then Abraham lifted his eyes and looked, and behold, a ram{ was} behind{ him}, caught in the thicket by its horns. So Abraham went and took the ram, and sacrificed it as a burnt offering instead of his son. BSB BSB: Then Abraham looked up and saw behind him a ram in a thicket, caught by its horns. So he went and took the ram and offered it as a burnt offering in place of his son.
ULT So Abraham called the name of that place Yahweh- Yireh, as it is said{ to} this day,“On the mountain of Yahweh it will be seen.” BSB BSB: And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. So to this day it is said, “On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.”
ULT Then the angel of Yahweh called to Abraham a second{ time} from heaven BSB BSB: And the angel of the LORD called to Abraham from heaven a second time,
ULT and said,“I swear by myself, a declaration of Yahweh, that it is because you have done this thing and have not withheld your son, your only{ son}, BSB BSB: saying, “By Myself I have sworn, declares the LORD, that because you have done this and have not withheld your only son,
ULT that I will greatly bless you, and I will greatly multiply your offspring as the stars of the heavens and as the sand that{ is} on the shore of the sea, and your offspring will possess the gate{ s} of their enemies. BSB BSB: I will surely bless you, and I will multiply your descendants like the stars in the sky and the sand on the seashore. Your descendants will possess the gates of their enemies.
ULT And in your offspring all the nations of the earth will be blessed, because you listened to my voice.” BSB BSB: And through your offspring all nations of the earth will be blessed, because you have obeyed My voice.”
ULT Then Abraham returned to his young men, and they got up and went together to Beersheba. And Abraham stayed at Beersheba. BSB BSB: Abraham went back to his servants, and they got up and set out together for Beersheba. And Abraham settled in Beersheba.

ULT Uz his firstborn and Buz his brother and Kemuel, the father of Aram, BSB BSB: Uz the firstborn, his brother Buz, Kemuel (the father of Aram),
ULT and Kesed and Hazo and Pildash and Jidlaph and Bethuel.” BSB BSB: Chesed, Hazo, Pildash, Jidlaph, and Bethuel.”
ULT And Bethuel fathered Rebekah. Those{ are} the eight{ sons} Milcah bore for Nahor, the brother of Abraham. BSB BSB: And Bethuel became the father of Rebekah. Milcah bore these eight sons to Abraham’s brother Nahor.
