To Your Name Be the Glory (Psalm 135:1–21)
1 ULT Not to us, Yahweh, not to us, but to your name give honor, upon your covenant faithfulness, upon your trustworthiness. BSB BSB: Not to us, O LORD, not to us, but to Your name be the glory, because of Your loving devotion, because of Your faithfulness. 2 ULT Why should the nations say,“Where, then,{ is} their God?” BSB BSB: Why should the nations say, “Where is their God?”
3 ULT And our God{ is} in heaven; everything that he desires, he does. BSB BSB: Our God is in heaven; He does as He pleases.
5 ULT A mouth{ is} to them, but they do not speak; eyes{ are} to them, but they do not see; BSB BSB: They have mouths, but cannot speak; they have eyes, but cannot see;
6 ULT ears{ are} to them, but they do not hear; a nose{ is} to them, but they do not smell. BSB BSB: they have ears, but cannot hear; they have noses, but cannot smell;
7 ULT Their hands, but they do not feel; their feet, but they cannot walk; they do not murmur in their throats. BSB BSB: they have hands, but cannot feel; they have feet, but cannot walk; they cannot even clear their throats.
8 ULT Their makers are like them— everyone who is trusting in them. BSB BSB: Those who make them become like them, as do all who trust in them.
9 ULT Israel, trust in Yahweh; he{ is} their help and their shield. BSB BSB: O Israel, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
10 ULT House of Aaron, trust in Yahweh; he{ is} their help and their shield. BSB BSB: O house of Aaron, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
11 ULT Fearers of Yahweh, trust in Yahweh; he{ is} their help and their shield. BSB BSB: You who fear the LORD, trust in the LORD! He is their help and shield.
12 ULT Yahweh remembers us; he will bless; he will bless the house of Israel; he will bless the house of Aaron. BSB BSB: The LORD is mindful of us; He will bless us. He will bless the house of Israel; He will bless the house of Aaron;
13 ULT He will bless those fearing Yahweh, the small with the great. BSB BSB: He will bless those who fear the LORD—small and great alike.
14 ULT May Yahweh add to you, to you and to your sons. BSB BSB: May the LORD give you increase, both you and your children.
15 ULT May you be blessed by Yahweh, the maker of heaven and earth. BSB BSB: May you be blessed by the LORD, the Maker of heaven and earth.
16 ULT The heavens of heavens{ are} to Yahweh; but the earth he has given to the sons of man. BSB BSB: The highest heavens belong to the LORD, but the earth He has given to mankind.
17 ULT The dead do not praise Yah, and not any descending{ to} silence; BSB BSB: It is not the dead who praise the LORD, nor any who descend into silence.
18 ULT But we, we will bless Yah from now and to forever! Hallelu Yah! BSB BSB: But it is we who will bless the LORD, both now and forevermore. Hallelujah!
