Psalm 141 141 Psalms Book 5 unfoldingWord® Literal Text Come Quickly to Me (Psalm 70:1–5)
ULT A psalm of David Yahweh, I cry out to you,“Hurry to me! Give ear to my voice when I cry out to you.” BSB BSB: A Psalm of David. I call upon You, O LORD; come quickly to me. Hear my voice when I call to You.
ULT May my prayer be established{ like} incense to your face, a raising of my palms{ like} the evening sacrifice. BSB BSB: May my prayer be set before You like incense; my uplifted hands, like the evening offering.
ULT Yahweh, place a guard over my mouth; guard the door of my lips. BSB BSB: Set a guard, O LORD, over my mouth; keep watch at the door of my lips.
ULT Do not turn my heart toward an evil thing to wantonly act in activities in wickedness with men, doers of evil. And may I not dine on their delicacies. BSB BSB: Do not let my heart be drawn to any evil thing or take part in works of wickedness with men who do iniquity; let me not feast on their delicacies.
ULT Let the righteous hit me— covenant faithfulness, and he is correcting me! Oil for the head may my head not refuse. For my prayer{ is} continually against their wickedness. BSB BSB: Let the righteous man strike me; let his rebuke be an act of loving devotion. It is oil for my head; let me not refuse it. For my prayer is ever against the deeds of the wicked.
ULT Their judges are thrown down beside a cliff; and they hear my words, that they are pleasant. BSB BSB: When their rulers are thrown down from the cliffs, the people will listen to my words, for they are pleasant.
ULT “Just as splitting and breaking up in the ground, our bones are scattered at the mouth of Sheol.” BSB BSB: As when one plows and breaks up the soil, so our bones have been scattered at the mouth of Sheol.
ULT Yet my eyes are on you, Yahweh, Lord; in you I take refuge; do not uncover my soul. BSB BSB: But my eyes are fixed on You, O GOD the Lord. In You I seek refuge; do not leave my soul defenseless.
ULT Keep me from the hands of the snare they have laid for me, and the traps of the workers of evil. BSB BSB: Keep me from the snares they have laid for me, and from the lures of evildoers.
ULT Let the wicked fall into his nets together, I, while I cross over. BSB BSB: Let the wicked fall into their own nets, while I pass by in safety.
