The Vision of the Flying Scroll 1 ULT And I turned and I lifted up my eyes and I saw, and behold, a flying scroll. BSB BSB: Again I lifted up my eyes and saw before me a flying scroll.
2 ULT And he said to me,“What are you seeing?” And I said,“I am seeing a flying scroll. Its length is 20 cubits and its width is ten cubits.” BSB BSB: “What do you see?” asked the angel. “I see a flying scroll,” I replied, “twenty cubits long and ten cubits wide.”
3 ULT And he said to me,“This{ is} the curse that is going out over the face of all of the earth, for everyone who is stealing from this{ side,} according to it, has been cleared, and everyone who is swearing from this{ side,} according to it, has been cleared. BSB BSB: Then he told me, “This is the curse that is going out over the face of all the land, for according to one side of the scroll, every thief will be removed; and according to the other side, every perjurer will be removed.
4 ULT I have brought it out”— the declaration of Yahweh of Armies—“and it will come to the house of the thief and to the house of the one swearing by my name to falsehood. And it will spend the night in the midst of his house and will consume it, and its timbers, and its stones.” BSB BSB: I will send it out, declares the LORD of Hosts, and it will enter the house of the thief and the house of him who swears falsely by My name. It will remain inside his house and destroy it, down to its timbers and stones.”
The Vision of the Woman in a Basket 5 ULT And the angel who was speaking with me went out, and he said to me,“Lift up now your eyes and see what this{ is} that is going out.” BSB BSB: Then the angel who was speaking with me came forward and told me, “Now lift up your eyes and see what is approaching.”
6 ULT And I said,“What{ is} it?” And he said,“This{ is} the ephah that is going out.” And he said,“This{ is} their eye in all of the earth.” BSB BSB: “What is it?” I asked. And he replied, “A measuring basket is going forth.” Then he continued, “This is their iniquity in all the land.”
7 ULT And behold, a disk of lead was being lifted up, and this{ was} one woman sitting in the midst of the ephah. BSB BSB: And behold, the cover of lead was raised, and there was a woman sitting inside the basket.
8 ULT And he said,“This{ is} the wickedness.” And he threw her into the midst of the ephah, and he threw the stone of lead to its mouth. BSB BSB: “This is Wickedness,” he said. And he shoved her down into the basket, pushing down the lead cover over its opening.
9 ULT And I lifted up my eyes and I saw, and behold, two women were going out, and wind{ was} in their wings. And they had wings like the wings of the stork. And they lifted up the ephah between the earth and between the heavens. BSB BSB: Then I lifted up my eyes and saw two women approaching, with the wind in their wings. Their wings were like those of a stork, and they lifted up the basket between heaven and earth.
10 ULT And I said to the angel who was speaking with me,“Where are they taking the ephah?” BSB BSB: “Where are they taking the basket?” I asked the angel who was speaking with me.
11 ULT And he said to me,“To build for her a house in the land of Shinar. And it will be established, and she will be set down there on her base.” BSB BSB: “To build a house for it in the land of Shinar,” he told me. “And when it is ready, the basket will be set there on its pedestal.”
