Israel’s Kingdom Blessing (Psalm 57:1–11; Psalm 60:1–12)
UST God, I am completely committed to{ worshiping} you. I will sing and I will play music{ to praise you}. I will do this with my whole being! BSB BSB: A song. A Psalm of David. My heart is steadfast, O God; I will sing and make music with all my being.
UST I will arise before the sun rises, and I will praise you while I play my lyre and my harp. BSB BSB: Awake, O harp and lyre! I will awaken the dawn.
UST Yahweh, I will thank you as foreign people listen; yes, I will play music to praise you before other people groups. BSB BSB: I will praise You, O LORD, among the nations; I will sing Your praises among the peoples.
UST I will do that because the way that you faithfully love us is so great that it is like the distance between the heavens and the earth, and the way that you faithfully keep your promises is so great that it is like the distance between the earth and the clouds. BSB BSB: For Your loving devotion extends beyond the heavens, and Your faithfulness reaches to the clouds.
UST God, show{ all creatures} that you are greater than anything in the heavens! Show how wonderful you are{ to people} all over the earth! BSB BSB: Be exalted, O God, above the heavens; may Your glory cover all the earth.
UST Please answer our prayers and rescue us from our enemies by your power so that we, the people whom you love, may be safe. BSB BSB: Respond and save us with Your right hand, that Your beloved may be delivered.
UST Because God is holy, he answered,“I will joyfully divide the area of Shechem{ for you} and I will distribute{ among my people} the land in the Valley of Succoth. BSB BSB: God has spoken from His sanctuary: “I will triumph! I will parcel out Shechem and apportion the Valley of Succoth.
UST { The region of} Gilead is mine;{ the area of the tribe of} Manasseh is mine;{ the tribe of} Ephraim is{ like} my war helmet; and{ the tribe of} Judah is{ like} my royal scepter. BSB BSB: Gilead is Mine, and Manasseh is Mine; Ephraim is My helmet, Judah is My scepter.
UST The people of Moab serve me as those who wash my feet; the people of Edom also belong to me as menial servants; I have defeated the people of Philistia.” BSB BSB: Moab is My washbasin; upon Edom I toss My sandal; over Philistia I shout in triumph.”
UST I wait for God to lead us to{ fight against the people of} Edom; I wait for God to lead my army to{ attack} their{ capital} city that has strong walls around it. BSB BSB: Who will bring me to the fortified city? Who will lead me to Edom?
UST God, we hope that you have not abandoned us;{ we are distressed that} you have not been going with us when our army marches out{ to fight our enemies}. BSB BSB: Have You not rejected us, O God? Will You no longer march out, O God, with our armies?
UST Please help us when we fight against our enemies because the help that humans can give{ to us} is worthless. BSB BSB: Give us aid against the enemy, for the help of man is worthless.
UST { But} with you{ helping us}, we will win; you are the one who will{ enable us to} defeat our enemies. BSB BSB: With God we will perform with valor, and He will trample our enemies.
