Psalm 70 70 Psalms Book 2 unfoldingWord® Simplified Text Hurry, O LORD, to Help Me! (Psalm 40:1–17; Psalm 141:1–10)
UST Yahweh my God, please act quickly to rescue me! BSB BSB: For the choirmaster. Of David. To bring remembrance. Make haste, O God, to deliver me! Hurry, O LORD, to help me!
UST Some people are trying to kill me. Embarrass them by making them fail to do that. Some people would be happy to harm me. Humiliate them by making them abandon that plan. BSB BSB: May those who seek my life be ashamed and confounded; may those who wish me harm be repelled and humiliated.
UST Some people are saying that I am suffering because I am a bad person. Make them ashamed of saying that so that they stop saying it. BSB BSB: May those who say, “Aha, aha!” retreat because of their shame.
UST { Rescue me so that} everyone who is loyal to you will greatly celebrate. Then the people who depend on you to rescue them will keep saying,“God certainly is great!” BSB BSB: May all who seek You rejoice and be glad in You; may those who love Your salvation always say, “Let God be magnified!”
UST But right now I am in very difficult circumstances, so please act quickly to help me, God! Yahweh, you are the one who helps me and saves me, so please help me right away! BSB BSB: But I am poor and needy; hurry to me, O God. You are my help and my deliverer; O LORD, do not delay.
