Let the Earth Rejoice 1 UST Yahweh is the king! I want everyone on the earth to be glad and I want all the people who live on the land in and around the oceans to{ also} rejoice{ about that}! BSB BSB: The LORD reigns, let the earth rejoice; let the distant shores be glad.
2 UST There are very dark clouds all around him; he always rules righteously and justly. BSB BSB: Clouds and darkness surround Him; righteousness and justice are His throne’s foundation.
3 UST He sends fire out in front of him, and{ that fire} burns all of his enemies. BSB BSB: Fire goes before Him and consumes His foes on every side.
4 UST All around the world he sends his bright lightning; people on the earth see{ it}, and it causes them{ to be afraid and} to tremble. BSB BSB: His lightning illuminates the world; the earth sees and trembles.
5 UST The mountains melt like wax before Yahweh; he is the Lord who rules over all of the earth. BSB BSB: The mountains melt like wax at the presence of the LORD, before the Lord of all the earth.
6 UST Everything that people can see in the heavens makes it clear that he is righteous, and all the people groups see how glorious he is. BSB BSB: The heavens proclaim His righteousness; all the peoples see His glory.
7 UST Everyone who worships carved images should be ashamed; all those who are proud of their useless false gods should be ashamed. All those gods should bow down to worship Yahweh! BSB BSB: All worshipers of images are put to shame—those who boast in idols. Worship Him, all you gods!
8 UST The people of Jerusalem heard{ Yahweh’ s just decrees} and they were happy{ about them}; people in the other cities in Judah also{ heard and} rejoiced because you judge{ people} justly, Yahweh. BSB BSB: Zion hears and rejoices, and the towns of Judah exult because of Your judgments, O LORD.
9 UST Of course, Yahweh, you are the supreme king who rules over all the earth; You are far more powerful than any other spirit beings. BSB BSB: For You, O LORD, are Most High over all the earth; You are exalted far above all gods.
10 UST All you who love Yahweh, you must hate every evil thing{ that people do}! Yahweh protects those who are faithful to him; he rescues them when wicked people try to harm them. BSB BSB: Hate evil, O you who love the LORD! He preserves the souls of His saints; He delivers them from the hand of the wicked.
11 UST He makes good things happen for righteous people and he causes those who are honest to rejoice. BSB BSB: Light shines on the righteous, gladness on the upright in heart.
12 UST You righteous people, let Yahweh make you glad, and thank him, the one we all know to be holy! BSB BSB: Rejoice in the LORD, you righteous ones, and praise His holy name.
