3 ULB Pues ustedes saben que para esto fuimos elegidos. BSB BSB: so that none of you would be shaken by these trials. For you know that we are destined for this.
4 ULB Verdaderamente, cuando estábamos con ustedes, les dijimos de antemano que estábamos prontos a sufrir aflicción, y eso pasó, como ya saben. BSB BSB: Indeed, when we were with you, we kept warning you that we would suffer persecution; and as you know, it has come to pass.
5 ULB Por esta razón, cuando ya no pude aguantarlo, envié a Timoteo para poder saber acerca de su fe. Quizás el tentador los hubiera atentado y nuestra labor hubiese sido en vano. BSB BSB: For this reason, when I could bear it no longer, I sent to find out about your faith, for fear that the tempter had somehow tempted you and that our labor might have been in vain.
6 ULB Pero Timoteo vino a nosotros de ustedes y nos trajo buenas noticias de su fe y amor. Nos dijo que ustedes siempre tienen buenas memorias de nosotros, y que ustedes desean vernos tanto como nosotros deseamos verlos a ustedes. BSB BSB: But just now, Timothy has returned from his visit with the good news about your faith, your love, and the fond memories you have preserved, longing to see us just as we long to see you.
7 ULB Por esto, hermanos, estuvimos consolados por ustedes por medio de su fe, en toda nuestra angustia y aflicción. BSB BSB: For this reason, brothers, in all our distress and persecution, we have been reassured about you, because of your faith.
8 ULB Por ahora nosotros vivimos, si ustedes se mantienen firmes en el Señor. BSB BSB: For now we can go on living, as long as you are standing firm in the Lord.
9 ULB ¿Qué gracias podemos nosotros darle a Dios por ustedes, por toda la alegría que tenemos delante de nuestro Dios sobre ustedes? BSB BSB: How can we adequately thank God for you in return for our great joy over you in His presence?
10 ULB Noche y día nosotros oramos muy fuerte que podamos ver sus caras y proveer lo que esta faltando en su fe. BSB BSB: Night and day we pray most earnestly that we may see you face to face and supply what is lacking in your faith.
11 ULB Que el mismo Dios y Padre nuestro, y nuestro Señor Jesús, dirija nuestro camino hacia ustedes. BSB BSB: Now may our God and Father Himself, and our Lord Jesus, direct our way to you.
12 ULB Que el Señor haga que el amor crezca y abunde entre unos y otros y hacia toda la gente, como nosotros a ustedes. BSB BSB: And may the Lord cause you to increase and overflow with love for one another and for everyone else, just as our love for you overflows,
13 ULB Que Él haga esto para fortalecer sus corazones libres de culpa en santidad ante nuestro Dios y Padre, en la venida de nuestro Señor Jesús con todos sus santos. BSB BSB: so that He may establish your hearts in blamelessness and holiness before our God and Father at the coming of our Lord Jesus with all His saints. Amen.
