1Guyyaa Dilbataa barii halkaniin dubartooti sun uddowaa qopheessiteertu qabattee gara boolla awwaalaa dhaxxe.On the first day of the week, very early in the morning, the women came to the tomb, bringing the spices they had prepared.

2Dhakaan afaan boolla awwaalaa irraa gangalfameeruun dhaggane.They found the stone rolled away from the tomb,

3Boolla awwaalaa keessa yennaa seenane ammoo, reeffa Goottaa Yesuusii hin dhaggine.but when they entered, they did not find the body of the Lord Jesus.

4Isaan waan kana mamiisatti jiranuun, nami lamaan woyaa caccalaqqittu uffatee dedhuma cinaa isaanii dhaabbate.While they were puzzling over this, suddenly two men in radiant apparel stood beside them.

5Dubartooti guddoo sodaatanee gad lafa ilaalane; namooti sun ammoo, «Maaf jiraataa worra du'eeru odduu barbaaddan?As the women bowed their faces to the ground in terror, the two men asked them, “Why do you look for the living among the dead?

10Worri waan kana ergantootatti himane, Maariyaamii qachaa Magdalaa, Yo'anaa, Maariyaamii haadha Yaaqoobiitii fi dubartoota dhibi'i.It was Mary Magdalene, Joanna, Mary the mother of James, and the other women with them who told this to the apostles.

18Achiin duuba isaan keessaa Qileyophaa ka jedhamu tokko deebisee, «Yerusaalem keessatti nami keessummaan ka waan dhikoo tana achitti te'e hin beenne, si'uma calla'aa?» jedhe.One of them, named Cleopas, asked Him, “Are You the only visitor to Jerusalem who does not know the things that have happened there in recent days?”

25Achiin duuba Yesuus isaaniin, «Isin attam attam gowwoole'e, waan raagoti jedhane maraa dhugeeffatiisaafille yaadi gadhaa keessanii attam attam hancaara'a!Then Jesus said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken!

26Masiihiin rakkinna kana maraa fudhatee ulfinna ifiititti galiisi, barbaachisa'aa motii ree?» jedhe.Was it not necessary for the Christ to suffer these things and then to enter His glory?”

27Yesuus achiin duuba kitaaba Muuse'eetii jalqabee kitaabota raagotaa mara keessatti, marroo isaatiif waan Barreeffam Woyyichi dubbatu maraa isaaniif hiike.And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, He explained to them what was written in all the Scriptures about Himself.

28Gara ollaa itti dhaqiisatti jiranuu yennaa dhikaatane, Yesuus akka waan dabaree ideemuu te'e.As they approached the village where they were headed, He seemed to be going farther.

31Achiin duuba ilti isaanii banantee, isa hubatane; inni ammoo ila isaanii duraa miliqe.Then their eyes were opened and they recognized Jesus—and He disappeared from their sight.

32Isaan wol woliin, «Yennaa inni kara'atti nu woliin haasowee fi Barreeffama Woyyicha nu'uuf hiike, gadhaan keenna hin gubannee?» jedhane.They asked each other, “Were not our hearts burning within us as He spoke with us on the road and opened the Scriptures to us?”

34«Goottaan dhugumaan du'aa ka'eera, Simoonille'etti mudhateera!» jedhane.and saying, “The Lord has indeed risen and has appeared to Simon!”

35Achiin duuba jarri lamaan waan kara'atti te'e maraa fi yennaa Goottaan daabboo casse attam akka isa beekane himane.Then the two told what had happened on the road, and how they had recognized Jesus in the breaking of the bread.

36Adoo jarri lamaan sun waan kana himiisatti jiranuu, Yesuus ifumaafuu isaan odduu dhaabbatee, «Nageenni isiniif te'u!» isaaniin jedhe.While they were describing these events, Jesus Himself stood among them and said, “Peace be with you.”

37Isaan waan ekeraa dhaggane seyanee, sodaatanee bararaqane.But they were startled and frightened, thinking they had seen a spirit.

38Yesuus ammoo, «Maaf sodaattan? Gadhaa keessan keessatti maaf mantan?“Why are you troubled,” Jesus asked, “and why do doubts arise in your hearts?

40Yesuus tana jedhee harkaa fi miila ifii isaanitti mudhise.And when He had said this, He showed them His hands and feet.

41Isaan gammadaa fi baaseffataan waan guutamaneeranuuf ammalle dhugeeffatiisa dhabanee jennaan, «Waan nyaataa asii qaddanii?» jedhee isaan gaafate.While they were still in disbelief because of their joy and amazement, He asked them, “Do you have anything here to eat?”

42Isaan qurxummii woddante diqqoo takka itti kennane;So they gave Him a piece of broiled fish,

43innille fuudhee fuula isaanii duratti nyaate.and He took it and ate it in front of them.

44Achiin duuba Yesuus isaaniin, «Yennaa isin woliin jiru, Seera Muuse'ee, Kitaaba Raagotaatii fi Kitaaba Faaru'uu keessatti marroo tiyyaaf ta barreeffante maraa muummowu'uu malte, jedhee ta ani isinitti hime tana» jedhe.Jesus said to them, “These are the words I spoke to you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about Me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets, and the Psalms.”

45Achiin duuba inni Barreeffama Woyyicha akka hubatanuuf qalbii isaanii bane.Then He opened their minds to understand the Scriptures.

46Inni isaaniin, «Masiihiin akka rakkatuu fi guyyaa sadeesso'oo du'aa akka ka'u,And He told them, “This is what is written: The Christ will suffer and rise from the dead on the third day,

47cubbuu irraa deebi'iisaa fi araarri cubbu'uu maqaa isaatiin Yerusaalemii jalqabee gosa maraaf akka lallabamu barreeffameera.and in His name repentance and forgiveness of sins will be proclaimed to all nations, beginning in Jerusalem.

48Isin waan kanaaf dhugaa-baatota.You are witnesses of these things.

49Kunoo, waan Abbaan kiyya addii isinii kenne ani isiniif hin erga; ammoo haga hunna gubbaa irraa dhaggattanutti qachaa Yerusaalemii keessa tura'a» jedhe.And behold, I am sending the promise of My Father upon you. But remain in the city until you have been clothed with power from on high.”

50Achiin duuba Yesuus qachaa keessaa baasee, haga Bitaaniya'aa isaan geesse; achitti harka ifii lamaanuu ol kaasee isaan eebbise.When Jesus had led them out as far as Bethany, He lifted up His hands and blessed them.

51Adoo isaan eebbisiisatti jiruu, isaan irraa gargar bayee gara ol-gubba'aa fudhatame.While He was blessing them, He left them and was carried up into heaven.

52Isaan isaaf sagadanee, gammachuu gudda'aan gara Yerusaalemii deebi'anee,And they worshiped Him and returned to Jerusalem with great joy,

53yennaa mara Galma Waaqaa keessatti Waaqa galateeffataa turane.praising God continually in the temple.
